Sysop Privledges

Narvroop Singh, You have been a very active user on SikhiWiki so I have assigned you as a "sysop" (System Operator) on SikhiWiki. This will allow you to edit "protected" pages (like the home page) and also do other administrative things as needed. It is great to have your involvement in this great project!

Mool Mantra

Navroop Singh, I have seen your work on the Mool Mantra and it looks very good. I took the liberty to added the Sikhi Stub and added a few lines for Gur Prasaad. I hope you don't mind. --Hari 15:44, 25 Apr 2005 (Pacific Daylight Time)

Raga page

WKWF, Thanks Navroop for your kind words of encouragement. I think putting page numbers is an excellent idea as it will make searching for each raga much easier. I will try and find the relevant page number details. Thanks again. --Hari 12:15, 27 Apr 2005 (Pacific Daylight Time)

Navroop, WKWF: Sorry, I have no idea of the reason why the Ragas are arranged in the order they apprear in the SGGS or if this relates to Raag timings or Mood or scale? I am sorry. However, I will ask a friend of mine whose kids are musicians. --Hari 13:11, 27 Apr 2005 (Pacific Daylight Time)

3HO / Yogi Bhajan

Unfortunately some people have nother better to do then cause trouble and spread negativity. The two articles (3HO and Yogi Bhajan) are particulary prone to attacks and blatent deletion of all content with Slanderous comments. I have reverted those articles many times already.

If things continue like this...It might be practical to just protect those pages from modifications...and add a note that if someone wants to contribute that they can add comments to the "Discussion" portion of the article for review.

Good Work!

You are doing a really great job on Sikhiwiki Navroop Singh! I just wanted to let you know and thank you for being a big part of the SikhiWiki project. We have been watching every day as you and Hari Singh add new content, re-organize and make things much better.

A few days ago we started featuring the "sikhiwiki featured article" on the SikhNet.com homepage and since then over 1,200 people have been coming to the site every day, which is great. We will continue to feature new articles on SikhNet as you add them. It would be great if one of you could update the featured article on the Sikhiwiki home page every week. Also email me and Joginder Singh when you do so that we can also update the SikhNet.com home page feature.

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Gurumustuk Singh Khalsa

ps. If you know of others who might be interesting in helping with SikhiWiki please try to get them involved. The more people the more we can do.

Do you review changes made by other people?

I wanted to know if you look at the changes that others make to articles? Another thing that would be helpfull is to have more people reviewing the changes that are made by people to prevent "trouble makers" (deleting content or accidentally erasing info that should be there) and also to ensure the quality of content.

I do look from time to time...but I'm not on the site as much as you because of my other duties at SikhNet --gmustuk 15:12, 6 May 2005 (Pacific Daylight Time)

Mool Mantar

WKWF, I agree with you. I have been scanning the content of the Mool Mantar article frequently and it looks very good and should go in as the 'article of the week'. I don't have any other article in mind although I put the 'Guru Nanak' page as a secondary article on the main page a few days ago as there was emply space on the left hand frame. Go for it, Navroop! --Hari 04:29, 9 May 2005 (Pacific Daylight Time)

Sakhis

Hi Navroop, WKWF - You are right, I was working on this aspect of the site to see if I could group all the various articles together so that one could scan them without too much aggo. I thought it would be better to use the word 'Sakhis' as its widely used on the web and most users at this site would be aware of the word - or be prepared to learn it. Your input is much appreciated - I think 'Guru Nanak Sakhis' sounds great - I will change all these references and try the thread all the Sakhis together - I have also put a link from the main page to the Sakhis category page. I have tried to ring you - but the call went to voicemail - Perhaps you have not got the phone with you or something? Thanks for the positive feedback - I like the Mool Mantar article - Look good! --Hari 09:05, 9 May 2005 (Pacific Daylight Time)

Bhagat Painting

Navroop, WKWF

I will try and get the name of the painter & include that with the paintings. It appears that some of the painting do not have the name of the painter - I will make some inquiries. Speak to you soon, --Hari 06:56, 13 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Shepherd Bush Gurdwara

Hi, Navroop: No I have not been to Shepherd Bush recently, but found their web site at Central Gurdwara. I thought a telephone call may produce a result and as I have a feeling you may be right - I rang Giani ji on 020 7603 2789 and he confirmed that they do have a Library and the best time to go there or speak to Parbhandak would be Wednesday or Sunday 7-9 pm. So, I think you may be right - I suggest you ring Parbhandak Tomorrow to see if they have the book you are looking for. It may be they just have Punjabi newspapers! Let me know how you get on. --Hari 09:31, 17 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Guru Nanak in Baghdad

Navroop, WKWF: Thanks for putting up this article - It's very informative. I am amazed that we have this record preserved for the Panth in an area which has had a very tough history. I have taken the liberty to 'touch up' as few bits on the page - I hope you don't mind? --Hari 14:01, 20 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Article of the Week (AoW)

Hi, Navroop: I think both articles are ready to be put forward as AoW. Both have merits why they stood be put forward. I have just quickly scanned both these articles and I am unable to decide - So flip a coin! --Hari 04:07, 23 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

New Article - Guru ji in Baghdad

WKWF Navroop, I think that's an excellent choice and I think your reasoning is probably correct. Well done. I hope we get a good response --Hari 06:56, 23 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
