Circumcision and muslim women

Where you go the idea that a women cannot be muslim because she is not circumcised, will be glad if you can point out to any verses from hadith.

Guru Nanak says:

ਸੁੰਨਤਿ ਕੀਏ ਤੁਰਕੁ ਜੇ ਹੋਇਗਾ ਅਉਰਤ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੀਐ ॥ If circumcision makes one a Muslim, then what about a woman?

I don't know what the Koran say about circumcision but the practise and tradition is that Muslim males have to be circumcised to be Muslim. Guru Nanak questions this practise? Why does a male person have to undergo this tradition when a female is a Muslin without undergoing this procedure! That is the question! Why the discrimination and why interfere with God's will. After all if God wanted to create males without foreskin, surely He has the power to do it? Hari Singhtalk 18:28, 21 July 2015 (CDT)

Meat Eating

Hi Hari Singh,

Thanks for your reply. Just like you quoted many shabads from Guru Granth Sahib which suggest that meat eating is not allowed in sikh religion, i can quote many shabads which would suggest that meat eating is not forbidden in sikh religion. But i don't want to get into that debate as it would become a never ending debate. It has already been debated alot b/w various groups and the entire material and arguments/counter-arguments are available on internet. My point was simple - Sikhiwiki is a platform to teach about sikh principles to the whole world and not to present our "personal interpretation" of sikhi to the world. We all agree on one point i.e. sikh gurus asked sikhs not to engage in fruitless debates on "meat eating". So, why to include such a point in dissimilarities section of islam and sikhi which is controversial in nature?

Dear Khalsa ji

Many thanks for your response. My reply is not based on "personal interpretation"; it is based on Gurbani - the actual words are there for all to read. All I have done is referred you to various quotations from Gurbani. It is very clear from these quotations what is intended by the Gurus. Further, the concept of Daya (compassion) is central to Sikhi - see the article "Dharma is the son of compassion" - "Ḏẖoul ḏẖaram ḏaiā kā pūṯ" (Japji sahib)

I have searched high and low and spoken to lots of dedicated Gursikhs who have practised Gurmat for many decades and I have not come across any clear evidence to promote "meat-eating" for a Gurmukh. If you cannot understand that it is cruel to kill animals then it is unlikely that we can make any progress on this topic. We are all on our own paths in life and I agree that there is no point in engaging in any heated argument on this topic.

In Sikhi at Gurdwaras, vegetarian food is always offered; every time I have been to a Mosque or Muslim gathering, the food offered includes meat. Clearly, this is a dissimilarity between the 2 religions!

Ramdasia talk rubbish

User:Sikh Guy is editing Caste based articles. He removed previous data and introduced new data but without references. I do not comment on his edits; but he have written a controversial line in article Ramdasia; that The Ramdasias (Julaha) are very Jealousy Citizens don't no nothing about Sikhism, talk rubbish..

As when we start caste based articles; We have maintained such articles on Sikhiwiki for information purposes and also given a big note on each article that we don't give damn to casteism. Different groups existed in India, what they do and how they are inclined to Sikhism is main agenda of such articles.

It is request to you to kindly ask user to stop commenting like this. He write that Ramdasia is related to Julaha and Bhagat Kabir also belong to this community.

Recent days, i have heard from a Bania shopkeeper saying all Blady Jatts anpad khatoons have no akal and sit and order. Bhagat Dhanna was also from Jatt Background whose hymns are incorporated in Adi Granth. Moreover now days many people from Jat background are IAS, Engineers, Doctors etc. So Sikhiwiki should act on such statements and do clean up (IF statement is not referenced). I have attached image for reference.
