Hari ji, thanks much for your responses. On another note, the photo of BabaDeepSingh59.jpg used on the main page is clearer than I have seen before. I have often wondered the source. Is it a mural in one of the shrines at the Harmandar Sahib complex or an illustration? Do you have any idea.? IT would be useful to credit murals. Thanks Allenwalla 01:52, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Chart Baba Gurditta

Baba Atal ji seems to be called Ani Rai on this chart, is this correct? I can change it if need be. Please advise. Allenwalla 04:52, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

re. Baba Gurditta chart

Hope this works. It helped me to understand more clearly the sequences of who was who and where they all fit in. I kept Gurus in Blue, used the red circle as a symbol of fusion of the female and male elements (sun/son (daughter), womb, kara, with wich the Kartar added the gift of children/birth.

Also added Guru Tegh Bahadur (his original name also), Guru Gobind Singh and the passing of the Guruship. Hope this is acceptable? Allenwalla 02:03, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Sat Sri Akal Sir

Hello Sir

Gundeep here.I am in trouble these days. I am trying to face the disease of castesim strongly but everyone in my family, relatives is against me. Everyone is cursing me badly. I don't know what to do? What should be my reaction? I am in pain..I can't explain my pain in words. But this castesim has indulged in our society so badly and each human being is not ready to come out of it. If I am not accepting this and I am treating each individual on the basis of his/her personal traits and behavior but not on the basis of any caste creed etc..then everyone is trying to pull out me back and showing me negative approach of my thinking.

Please let me know what should I do? Why 'waheguru' has involved me in this situation. I have to choose one either my family or my own choice?

Please guide and show me right path. I am all alone and fighting against it lonely. No one is with me.Please you all help me and try to convince my family and tell them that what our guru says about this castesim. Please call my parents or mail them and convince them. I am asking for help from all of you.

Please help me otherwise I don't know what will happen. I am not able to bear this stress.

Regards Gundeep

re: Harbans Singh Jaswal

Thank you for your suggestion. I will try to locate one and upload it. Sat Sri Akal.

Combined edits

SSA, Hari ji, It seems i have gotten in the middle of your edits. Please check my additions. Judging by the line at what was described as only an extra room and its remarkablely beautifully detailed dome i am guessing this is the site of the rori bed. So I added wording and a caption to this effect.

I also expect that the site was being vandilized by squatters and like the coliseum in Rome was being used as a quarry where people could steal pieces for their homes as I know no sikh would want to see the Gurdwara damaged. I think the wall was added to stop further damage, i.e. more than mere rot and rather than falling apart people were actively taking it apart. Building an expensive perimeter wall, alone could hardly have stemmed the rot.

thanks for the info. Allenwalla 07:40, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Error on my part

I had meant to send to Sarbjeet, as i was wondering if his trip to bean town (Bangalore) was alone (business) or a family vacation, he had taken some snaps of a gurdwara there. Sorry for the confusion. Allenwalla 02:01, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Sir Ji

I have to add few latest events in ludhiana protests over ashutosh samagam in ludhiana in which few people were killed by punjab police. the protest was peaceful but police converted it into violent. That Blady fake Baba Ashutosh again acted against sikhs. He is same baba who claims himself incarnation of gurus and who misinterpret gurbani. Sacha sauda was thrown out by sikhs of malwa, now it was time for doaba sikhs to react on dera epdemic and they did but the government is against us. (Lucky 10:57, 8 December 2009 (UTC))

{reflist} problem.

Hi,

So for me to view the {reflist} on the page: Prof. Darshan Singh Khalsa I have to login. Is there a way to fix that?

Thanks. --Gaganji 06:46, 9 December 2009 (UTC) http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Special:RecentChanges

News, maybe you can understand

Veerji, I saw you had asked for news. I saw your note leaving a link for Lucky ji, copied below - unfortunately I cannot understand the broadcast, but read one story.

Lucky ji, with migrant workers burning cars also that day, it seems the police (all Sikhs? or most of them in video) were more than a little fearful. I found one video, police shooting a lot in the air, little is seen of the Sikh protestors. http://www.zeenews.com/video/showvideo4746.html It seems the samagam was canceled and the dera leader was advised to go. One hurt person is shown being picked up. Terrible that someone lost his life over this and more peoples cars were set afire. I have never heard of this group before. Violence (or the seeming threat of violence) can beget violence. Unfortunately (Police used fire gas and batons to quell the protests. 15 policemen were also injured in the brick batting yesterday. ) this happened the day before, when migrant workers went on a rampage. http://www.zeenews.com/news584747.html Allenwalla 08:15, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Ghorian (new section)

Can you, if you have time, check these questions for me? thanks Allenwalla 01:33, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Also in the tribute to Darshan Singh, he seemed to be alive for awhile, but did not receive help at all and bleed to death in the street. Very tragic, also a film of the event - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns_4QhoTa3w&feature=related

Thanks for the help

Please check no. 8 again. I have added part of your explanation, which is much more powerful than that it replaces.

Specifically what caused me to see the translation as sexist, is the use of the words - bridegroom (male/husband) and spouse (the bride or wife - female), women seem to be left out of salvation, mukhti, whatever. As muslim women are often told to pray at home. It is my western listening that has trapped me and most likely anyone reading this who has not been brought up as a Sikh.

Perhaps adding - bridegroom (both the bride and the husband) and the spouse (Waheguru) - or am I still off?

Allenwalla 05:31, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

found info on net to answer my questions, the violence and death is however is questionable considering the teachings of the sikh gurus especially those of Guru Gobind Singh.

Kara Parshad help

Veer ji, I added tone to seperate the Sewadar from the sky in photo - Sewadar serving Kara Parshad. The first way I did this did not work so I added outside of updating photo box - first attempt could be tossed. Sorry for the trouble. Also seeing the trouble being caused over the Dasam Granth, perhaps I should stop asking about the events in Ludhiana, and just read the news and you tube accounts. Veer Ji, You gave me a lecture on Dasam Granth i want you to say the same to Sunny Sigh Dawood. He is against the Granth and i Support it. If we would go like this then there would be Feud with result of Banning of we both or banning of that whom you support. Kindly look into matter. Negative forces are here too.(Lucky 13:16, 19 December 2009 (UTC))

For your benifit and benifit of sikhi

It is a suggestion for your benifit and benifit of future generations regarding Sikhi. If you want to view the real interpretations and deep interpretations of GUrbani and Dasam Granth. Listen to this man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uapdOCpGs0U

The Link contain Vyakhya of Chandi di vaar. He is Simple person. He is not Scholar, Not Gyani but Gurmukh. Gurmukh who follows Paath, Arth, Vichaar, Visthar and of course Amal too. Listen to his views. The real essence of Gurbani and real essence of Chandi di Vaar(Bachitar natak, chritropakhyan or whatever) and Japji Sahib, Asa d vaar. This man Nihang Dharam Singh ji doing his best to preach Gurmat views not scholarly views. Whole videos are on Youtube.

Remember do not listen to any academic, any scholar, any scholar any preacher if you are really a gurmukh. These guys do not have Gyan, Daleel, even i don't have so nor sunny singh daod, not even jodh singh, darshan singh or any other. The Interpretations of Bhai Dharam Singh are only for Gurmukh. You will thank god after listening his vyakhya.

Remember he is gurmukh and listen his vistaar. God bless you.

Fateh Bhai Sahib, Family is in chardikalla. I see what you mean. I don't agree but tussi ithon de admin ho so I won't say anything. But thing is we promote anti Gurmat stuff. Guru Nanak Maharajs name will come on world, but when Guru Gobind Singh's name along with the crap written (pornographic stories) in his name will come out in world, where will we go? Dasam Granth is becoming parallel of Shabad Guru. I am not a scholar, and still can disprove Bachitar natak amongst other compositions in the light of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, if it is allowed on a discussion page... But not wanting to hurt your decision, I won't. stay in chardikalla Fateh SunnySinghDoad 16:59, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Fateh

I see. Nice bhai sahib. Charitropakhyan according to a letter of SGPC dated of 1973 is not writing of Guru Gobind Singh, so can I atleast put the controversial information on that? Besides that, aren't we a encyclopedia? Shouldn't we put information about EVERYTHING related to Sikhi? Don't you think, that with recent controversies, more people are looking up Dasam Granth on net, and DO want more information on it... And they CAN'T form a good opinion in their minds by reading only one side? Yes, Jaap Tva Prasad Svaiye and Chaupai won't be questioned, I know. Stay in chardikalla. =~~

I don't think you are understanding what I am trying to say. Charitropakhyan is contiuasly being linked to our tenth Guru. Just to clarify, I don't read anything outside SGGS. I will take Amrit where Dasam Granth bani's aren't read. It will happen soon. I know many other sikhs who will RE-Take Amrit then. But that is a side issue. 3000 is not nothing. It is a big thing. The thing is the issue has no info about it on Sikhiwiki, so people prefer to go on forums and ask questions. I am part of several forums and DO know how heated Dasam Granth has become as a subject. I will see if I have time to start article on Charitropakhyan. Thanks for your input ji. sorry if I have offended you. SunnySinghDoad 18:38, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

st sri akal again

sir ji don't have knowledge of dasam granth and even guru granth sahib. i have knowledge of sikh history and sikh history is not at all wa of the life.

When Anti Dasam Granthia started parchar of dasam granth they included fact that the granth promotes hinduism between sikhs and the parcharak, Dharam Singh said that the bani is just demoting hinduism not promoting it and demoting hinduism in wide sense. I think you are first person who are not satisfied with Gurmat Vyakhya of Chandi Di Vaar. i hope you will listen his whole views which are acceptable according to guru granth sahib.

Chandi d vaar are ballads of guru gobind singh and i am interpreting it according to defination of a gurmukh. If someone say that nihungs treat dasam granth guru, yes nihungs treat it ok. but it would be etter we have interpretations from those who believe in it. because they have gurmat interpretations for it. they interpret it acc. to guru granth sahib not like any sunny daod who interpret it from markandya purana. these persons are wide believer of hinduism or other religions but not sikhism. Sikhism have its own interpretation for Allah, Ram, Krishna, Shyam, Bhagauti, Chandi, Gopal, Beethula etc. hope you will understand.

sunny is being sarcastic a little kid who havent learnt from guru granth shaib, how to speak to elders is showing the way of sikh panth.

Gurmat is very deep, gur granth sahib is very deep, my life will vanish but i will not able to understand it the whole life but i will try to amal on it. i do not read dasam granth on daily basis but i support it because gurmukh support it. i do not want to believe on darshan singh ji or brar sahib or any other. i will believe on gurmukh. Gurmukh who have ace toward guru, and if such person says thet dasam granth is too Gurmukh, dasam ganth is ustati of gurmat i will believe him too.

i am not getting into discussions because i haven't read, many things i know are just uparali and false. even i will not able to interpret guru granth sahib properly.

sunny is provoking me for bachittar granth discussions i am provoking him for bhagat bani discussions. who is first bhagat bani or bachitar natak? i invite you and sunny to lets have discussions on bhagat bani to clear or enlighten ourself what bhagat bani is. pls tell sunny not to take any panga.

i am sending my mobile no. to you on your mail id. if pls could you call as i need to talk to you for betterment of website. (Lucky 07:29, 22 December 2009 (UTC))

tell me one thing

we r promoting Poet Shyam s article. The article creator is not sure of his research work.

sometime he says that shyam was poet of gurudarbar. today he is saying might be his works changed by british and may be he was from 18th century. his article is based on some, may, might, could, either.

r we here to spread rumours? pls delete such articles, such articles will create problems in future

if u could not then i have send message to gurmustak singh ji, may be he will do the required.

Read the whole bachitar natak yourself. seek some gurmukh 4 interpretations. (Lucky 19:15, 24 December 2009 (UTC))

Fateh Bhai Sahib Ji,

I have variously edited the article and am still busy with it. Please do NOT delete it. I just present various people views and I will keep editing. We HAVE to present people's views and 'examine' them. Thanks for understanding. SunnySinghDoad 20:48, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

I got those quotes from Dr. Baldev Singhs work.

I will quote about God being helpless.

Please don't movie the humility etc sections, as I have fully quoted and argumented them.

Hari ji, 300 hundred years ago + or -, we had here in the US the famous Salem Witch Trials, where envious people got rid of people by accusing them of witchcraft. Tests like being set on fire or being weighted and thrown in water were the rule - if you were innocent the fire would not effect you or you would float, ect.

If i remember Europe had the same sort of thing going on then. In today's Pakistan and other Muslim countries, people have just started a rumour that 'someone tore up a page of the Qu'ran and innocent Muslims and Christians have been beaten to death or even burned.

Kenya seems to be going through such now. Thought this story might be of interest.
