tracked down Takhat by the links, answering my own ? Sat Sri Akal
Dear Allenwala ji, Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh
- 1. Takht or Takhat is a personal choice. I personally prefer Takhat.
- 2. yes, hyper-linking the article name within the article makes it bold
- 3. To find what links to an article, go to the article and select "what links here" from the toolbox on the left hand side of the screen.
Thanks, you are doing a great job in copy-editing the articles. If possible please split articles into small logical paragraphs of about 5 to 10 lines. das, Hari Singh 11:12, 19 October 2007 (EDT)
- Sat Siri Akal,
- Thank you for your kind comments regarding the VC article - I will check to see if any Canadians have had the honour of such a prestigious medal or similar.
- To add a space please use the following code/word:
- The wiki system reduces many space characters to just one space. But the above is the symbols for the ascii code for "space". Try it, see if it works.
- Respected Allenwalla ji, every contribution to SikhiWiki is most appreciated and I hope that the Guru will bless you for your dedication and energy in helping make his message a little more easier to read and understand. Of course, I am most grateful for your help.
- I like the story about you bumping into the three Sikh men and how you learnt the Sikh greeting. With your knowledge about languages, I wonder if you taught languages! Kind regards, Hari Singh 17:03, 19 October 2007 (EDT)
Sat Sri Akal
Thanks again for so much interest in my articles Tawi andPahari. About Nanded Takhat you have rightly said somethings. With the passage of time many myth stories have been added which are against the basic principles of Sikhism. Moreover at two Takhats Nanded and Patna many rituals are being done which are not acceptable in Sikhism. I visit the local Gurdwara of our locality. Actually there are more than 150 Gurdwaras in whole Jammu and Kashmir. I have also recently visited Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar on 14 Oct 2007.

Sat Sri Akal,
I respect your views on -ism issue but here in India while describing religions -ism is used frequently just as Hinduism,Sikhism,Jainism, Budhism etc. Thanks Sir.

Respected Allenwalla, Sat Sri Akal. Please, no need to apologise. I think you made a perfectly valid comment and what you state may be a view held by many and it may reflect the initial reaction of the dominating English tradition of the time. It opens our eyes and what you say may be totally correct and there may have been a negative aim in the minds of the creators of some of these words. I think we are better prepared and I think it will direct me in future to prefer to use Sikhi instead of Sikhism where ever possible. Also, Sikhi is what is used in the original Punjabi language and it reinforces my preference. Thanks for pointing this out as there must be many others who have come to the same conclusion as you but have not been brave or bold enough to mention this. Hari Singh 18:25, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
I have not seen the Gurdwara Sahib quoted by you but by looking its photo it does not have any resemblence with mandirs as questioned by you. It looks like Fort type .There are many Gurdwaras giving a Fort look.
The meaning of Wakafa as questioned by you is 'Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji Ki Fateh'

I am not sure if the article was removed by accident or deliberately. Could you tell me? Due to technical problems over the weekend, I have some pending issues with a few articles as well. I know that these articles cannot be fixed so I am just "re-doing" the work again - Is your problem related to that? Hari Singh 17:02, 1 November 2007 (MDT)
- I will keep an eye on the article about healing.
- I don't so much have to check what others did but rather what I did before the system halted so that the content is almost in the same state that it was before the crash. I think we have an acceptable situation now provided we don't suffer any more technical bugs!
- As you say, you become used to the site and one does miss it when it is not available. You are doing a sterling job improving the readability of the articles. I am most grateful for your help - and no, you are not adding to my work. I hope the tilde reappears! If not use the signature button (second from the right) above the edit box Thank you (danyavaad). Kindly click Baba Deep Singhji, a great worrior, for refference to word Deep.
Thanks for the post but i am sorry i could not reply the right answer. You are great, Kudos to you for such a minute reading in the interest of Sikhi. You were right in detecting the discrepancy between the two articles as who actually killed Wazir Khan ,Baba Deep Singh or Baba Banda Bahadur. I am forwarding your query to S. Hari Singh ji. Thanks. user:sarbjeet_1313me 8 Nov 2007
information for you
Who says that Baba deep singh killed Wazir khan. Well if there anything like this written in any of article you are supposed to delete it. Wazir Khan was killed by Banda Singh Bahadur when Banda singh bahadur attacked on sirhind aftermath of killing of Young Sahibzadas of guru gobind singh jee. Banda singh want to destroy Wazir khan and when banda singh attacked sirhind Banda singh was killed over there(its not sure banda singh or any other singh from that fightout killed wazir khan) but the credit goes to Banda Singh Bahadur. and its said Wazir khan was killed with an arrow and when arrow was moving towards wazir khan wazir khan last words was " Oh my god Guru's teer(arrow), from where it comes". Its said that that arrow was shooted by Banda Singh.
Conclusion Wazir khan was killed when Baba Banda SIngh attacked sirhind i dunno know date or year read from banda singh's article.
Baba Deep singh is not et all related with attcking on sirhind he is related with saving the pride of sikhism harimandir sahib when ahmed shah abdali durani attacked amritsar.
I think your problem is solved know that killing of wazir khan is not et all related to baba dep singh. thanks..........Lucky
Sir tha answer is here
- Baron means Misldhar(Sultan ul Quam), The Head of misl Jassa Singh was head of Ramgarhia Misl. But baron here are cheif of the misl.
Ya as you know that were british times british also used word baron. you can check wikipedia for mraning of baron you can confuse it with that baron as its title of nobility.

Guru nanak is saying human that - Oh brother.
Line 2 Sevat rahe - Serving Who(Who is serving) chit - Heart, jin - whose, ka laagaa - are devoteed (Heart whose devoteed)

Possible Conflict & who kill WK
Hi Allenwalla ji,
Thanks for the seasonal greeting. We had a very noisy fun evening; the kid absolutely loved it - hope you too had a fine Bandi Chhorh Divas. I got your message re non-veg and veg food but could not find the article - do you remember which article had this mistake?
Also I think Lucky is correct when he say that Banda Singh killed Wazir Khan in Sirhind. I believe that you have corrected this error. Thanks for spotting the mistake, Hari Singh 04:14, 10 November 2007 (MST)

The word "nazar" means "sight", "view" or "darshan" - "blessing of the presence" of a respected person. So "nazarana" was a gift or money given to powerful people as a gift for just seeing them or for "having the sight of a great person". However, sometimes it was also levied as a "tax" under compulsion! - I not sure which one it was in this case - As a Sikh one hopes the first one as a voluntary gift! Hope this help. Regards, Hari Singh 19:15, 20 November 2007 (MST)
Is the word nazarana or nazar
both words have different meanings nazar means sight as told by hari singh. but nazarana means a gift.....Lucky

Mata Jito ji/ Mata Sundri ji
Thanks for the message regarding the mainpage - The history regarding the wife or wives of Guru Gobind Singh still remain unresolved - Original history recorded 2 wives but this was later corrected due to the misunderstanding and incorrect recording by the non-Sikh historians.
However, due to this confusion, all the material facts have not been property resolved including these dates - It will take a little time to resolve this one.
Original non-Sikh historians recorded that the young Sahibzade were the sons of Mata Jito ji who died in 1700 while I believe (not sure) that the older were the sons of Mata Sundri who survived GGS by many years. However, when it was realised that Mita Jito & Mata Sundri were the same, it created problems with some of the records. It is clear that these records have not been properly resolved and reconciled with known facts.
This raises questions about why Mata Jito/Mat Sundri was not with the young Sahibzade on evacuation from Anandpur sahib?
I will try and resolve this soon, regards, Hari Singh 06:19, 27 November 2007 (MST)
Hi Allenwalla ji
Adding photos is technically pretty easy. Before you can use a photo, you must first either have the photo on your computer or you need to download it from the net. Please be careful to observe copyright and acknowledge use from other Sikhi websites. Most Sikhi sites including SikhSangat.org should have no problem with using their images on SikhiWiki as we are a site for 'learning about Sikhi'. However, always acknowledge their pictures when you upload them and send an email to the webmaster at the Sikhi site to inform them of the use after you have managed to get the picture to work on SikhiWiki! I would not use images from non-Sikhi sites without explicit permission from the webmaster first.
1. To download from net, right click on the picture & then "save image". Place the picture in a safe known folder on your computer.
2. Then you will need to upload the picture to SikhiWiki, using the upload link in the bottom left panel of SikhiWiki. Please watch this tutorial first.
3. You will then need to display the picture in your article. This is also in the above tutorial but also look at this section on Wikipedia
Please upload the Gardner picture to SikhiWiki and I will have a look at this or give me a url of the article. I hope this helps. Thanks, das Hari Singh 19:26, 5 December 2007 (MST)
- Thanks for your offer of help with photos - I will bear that in mind when I need improvement of photos. I have looked at the Sikh Sangat site and in the second picture, yes I see the RSS in the background. It is strange to find this on such a picture! Thanks for bring this to my attention. I have added the first pic to the article just to demonstrate the technique. Please remove it if you wish. Keep up the great work. Das, Hari Singh 06:03, 6 December 2007 (MST)
- It was a pleasure to be of help. I have seen the photo - it looks great especially without the RSS. Like most things with the wiki language, it becomes simple once you have done it once. Great work! das, Hari Singh 15:40, 8 December 2007 (MST)
Allenwalla ji, SSA, You have been answered by Sir Hari Singh ji. You are doing a great work on Sikhiwiki. So nice to see it and your latest offer about Photos. Thanks.

Rediff.com is a very large organisation and I suspect that you will not get a response to your email. I would suggest that you email: [email protected], use the image with a sign "courtesy: Rediff.com". And await a response from the organisation. Also on the upload page put the exact url of where you have uploaded the page from and the statement:
On mm/dd/2007: Email sent asking permission; awaiting formal permission for use of this image; at present this image is being used under the "fair use policy".
I think this should be sufficient. If and when you get a response to your email, deal as appropriate.
Although presently Kutha is translated to Halaal meat, I have a feeling that may not be correct. The process involved in Halal meat is the slow killing and the reading of sacred text. A Sikh cannot object to the sacred text because our Gurus have correctly told us: "Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false" (p1350) - so the objection can be to the slowing killing only. The result of slow killing is a lot of pain and then death.
I have read that even when a person is hanged, they suffer for many minutes before they die; apparently when you stop the blood to the brain, the brain still has feelings for a few minute before it dies.
A Sikh is against causing pain to another being - so it is up to the individual to decide how far they are prepared to go. The sakhi of Bhagat Sadhna is very revelling with regards to the long term (over life-cycles) aspect of this cruel practise.
I am glad that you have started on the path of vegetarianism - It is a clear sign that you care for others -even "mere" animals and also that you fear God! But I know that old habits are difficult to overcome. I am told by my parents that I stopped eating meat at the age of about 6 year after visiting a holy shrine and talking to the priests there. Many thanks goes to the priests there who at an early age were able to influence me; perhaps if I had not met them, I would have been the cause of many thousands of additional deaths on earth.
Most spiritually aware Sikhs, who have a full understanding of Gurbani and live the way of the Gurus advocate not eating meat. I like the quotation of Walden:
"Every creature is better alive than dead, men and moose and pine trees, and he who understands it aright will rather preserve its life than destroy it."
Many thanks, das, Hari Singh 10:10, 9 December 2007 (MST)

amending article with copyright notice
Further to your last message regarding chakkar - Its a pleasure to be of help. We are true to our nature as Sikhs - learning all the time!
Regarding amending articles with copyright notice - Please do not worry about this notice if you are doing typo or grammatical or layout or improvement in English changes to the article. Just dive in and do it.
Gurumustuk is the software/technical guru on SikhiWiki and webmaster of Sikhnet. He maintains our computers and the software system. The note about the password is worrying. Please keep a lookout on the system to see if someone is trying to use your user name. It should not happen but we need to be vigilant. Hopefully it was just a glitch in the system and nothing will happen but we need to be observant.
Many thanks for your concerted effort.

SUHAVA - Pure/Fortunate
RAAM RAAJE - God's Grace

Sat Shri Akaal Mr. Allen
A question was asked Also what is the translation for ( Haqiqat Rah Maqam), please?
Well i am also finding the meaning of it, well i am a punjabi and these three words Haqiqat, Rah & Mauqam is also used in punjabi language, Haqiqat means Truth, Rah means Way, Maqam Means Destination or something reached at end we say that mauqam par puj gaya.
""Truth Way Destination"". Raja Shivnabh's Way to destination i.e truth or simply Raja Shivnabh's way to truth.
But if its another in persion arabic or sanskrit language then i think i dunno know

Actually these are not the tests, due to poor vocab i used that word, these are just kind of tricks by Baba Nanak to his disciple and he was watching that how disciple & Sons reacts and you must read some of the reactions by bhai lehna(Guru Angad Dev)in my Ullu'ed english. Sorry the english is so poor no care in tenses(Present past future, perfect etc). poor vocab. Poor sentence formation.
I tried to met Mr. Hari Singh, He stayed in my city for 4 days but i was out of station and when i came back, i again went out of my place to my cousins, and due to lack of two wheeler(I cant drive four wheelers), i was not able too met him. Know tomarrow i will go to his vill. to meet him. Lets see what happens user:hpt_lucky
Dalit - Sikh Panth De Rakhae, i chat with user:paapi on said article he told me that there is just the criticism of the book in that article. It donot tell what is in the book. So view the article again. its just criticism...user:hpt_lucky
Well one more thing i want to share if you ask a punjabi what is allenwala, he will reply, ALLENWALA is some human belongs to village or city Allen. Because when we pronounce it it sounds as Allen wala and like Kapdey wala(Washer Man- Belongs to washing clothes), Mohali Wala(Who belongs to mohali city. ). So Allen wala means belongs to some city village Allen or A man related to allen. "Wala" is mis pronounciation.
A Good article by you on Lohri, but i have deleted some lines, sorry for it as Lohri is a Indian Festival and not related with sikhs.Sikhs participate in it as a cultural and weather related phenomenon.Anyhow ur work is appreciateable as with photo the article has got better look. Thanks user:sarbjeet_1313me

Many thanks for your corrections to the above AOW - Obviously, missing out 'the', 'a', etc is an inherent weakness when coming from an Indian background. I think you are right when you say that they may not exist in Punjabi.
Sorry to learn that 'pain' interrupts your sleep - I hope it is not an ongoing problem.
I needed a narrow painting for the mainpage and this is the best I could come up with. Mind you, this AOW was prepared some years ago!

Gurdwara Shahid Burj (Bhai Jiwan Singh)
Gurdwara Shahid Burj (Bhai Jiwan Singh) - i went to chamkaur sahib recently and oi have all new pics of shahid burj and close view to bauli and internal struc ture of gurdwara will provide on this website soon.
Kalgi - a type of jewel which tied on the top of turban. This jewel decorates kings, prestigious persons or Grooms turban. sly this decorates gurus turban too. Guru Har Gobind, Guru Har Rai, guru Gobind Singh all have kalgi on head. Whether a simple brooch or more extravagant piece, it adds the much needed glamour to the Paghri or Safa. Kalgi's were traditionally worn to reflect wealth and stature in society. They were worn with a feather to compliment the design. search on kalgi on google and watch the images, ya see in guru gobind singh pictures you will definately find kalgi on turban.

Could Pipli be a reference to a Pipal sapling? Sound like that - Pipal is a big tree, so using pipli to refer to a small pipal is consistent with the Punjabi way. ??? Hari Singh 21:00, 23 January 2008 (MST)
rite pipli is small plant or sapling of pipal tree. Due to pipli our family conflicts is going on as pipli is also the source of black magic.

Many thanks for the message. Sorry, I just put the narrative about how I got the details about the Nyeri Gurdwara to inform users of my technique in obtaining the data. I did not want anyone to think that I had personal knowledge about all these matters. However, in this case, as I was born not too far from Nyeri, Kenya perhaps I could have had personal knowledge of this house of the Guru but alas I never had the opportunity to visit the town even when I lived just a few miles away!
A very kind user, User:Bansalj who (if my memory serves me right) was originally from Kenya but I believe now lives in the USA kindly uploaded all these pictures from his personal records. He did a sterling job - Unfortunately, he did not have other details about the many Gurdwara for which he uploaded the images. It will be up to us and other users to fit a few more jigsaws in the global picture of Sikhi!
Re Pipli - Yes I think you are right - many historic Gurdwara names have a story to tell - I visited one in Chandigarh earlier this month called Amb Sahib - Wow what a Sakhi associated with this holy place! Keep up the great work; kind regards, Hari Singh 08:06, 25 January 2008 (MST)
SSA Allenwala ji: I do remember discussing chakkar but I don't know how our chat ended. I believe that these were definitely used as weapons! I like the additions - thanks. Gurdwara Bhangani Sahib
Hi Richard sahib, SSA
Thanks for the message. Unfortunately, bhai sahib the credit for the pictures at Gurdwara Bhangani Sahib must go to someone else as although I have done some rearrangement of the text here and posted the pictures previously, they were regrettably not taken by me. I do not want to take the credit away from the original cameraman - I agree that the photos are excellent especially the one from the field which has stunning colours and great composure.
Due to the lack of time, we only visited about 10 different historic shrines in India on this occasion. Of these, I have posted a few photos of these Gurdwaras:
- Gurdwara Charan Kamal (photo at top)

Hi Richard, SSA
SSA, Bhai sahib
I am so glad you like it - It is definitely well deserved. When we were in India, I had a few opportunities to look at the 'recent changes' list and I saw your user name frequently on that list. I wanted to join that list and have my name with the 'Gurus sewadars' but alas the internet connection was not 'too user friendly'. I could see that you were 'burning the midnight lamp' quite a lot. You have the staying power and the stamina to persist. Well done! I am proud to have the opportunity to present you this barnstar - only the second one on SikhiWiki, I think. Many thanks for your very valuable work. Hari Singh 16:37, 5 February 2008 (MST)
Sat Shri Akaal Lucky Is back
It is not ok to paint gurus pics, i know in my house there are also some gurus pics but that was my grandmom's last instance she brought these potraits from chamkaur sahib. So removing that potraits is to hurting someones sentiments.
- Guru Ji Himself declares and affirms upon the issue through Gurbani as........
"Meditate on the image of the Guru within your mind; let your mind accept the Word of the Guru's Shabad (Gurbani teachings) and His Mantra (advice & guidance). Enshrine the Guru's feet within your heart. Bow in humility forever before the Guru, the Supreme Lord God" (Tr. fr. SGGS page 864)
"Enshrine the Guru's Feet in your heart. Meditate on Him and cross over the ocean of fire" (Tr. fr. SGGS Page 192)
I have written a short and wrong english article on Gurus Pics & Idols. You can read it or add related to topic in it. On some sikhism movies the cases(Judiciary) are going on. We cant show a man as a guru in movies, and we cant show potraits in movies or make potraits in real life or making idols of gurus if someone have go and throw in water.
- Sarbans Dani - we can say who donated whole family and himself for sake of something. Know read the guru gobind singh's history what he donated.
- Sab Sikhon Ko Hukam Hai
Guru Manio Granth Guru Granth Ji Manyio Pargat Guraan Ki Deh.
These lines are said by guru gobind singh. he said "This is Hukam(Order) to all Sikhs that you have to believe the granth as your guru. You have to believe guru granth as appeared form of guru.". Well hari singh can elaborate it more in english. user:hpt_lucky
Moving images of the Gurus
Hi Richard ji
I know that there has been some exchange of ideas on this topic. I have not had the time at present to get too involved - but this is a topic where views differ between Sikhs. But nevertheless it is an important point worth highlighting on SikhiWiki. Most Sikhs, including my family have always had paintings of the Gurus. A few Sikhs are against these pictures as they can easily become a 'centre of worship'.instead of the shabad or word, the picture becomes the centre!
However, moving pictures of the Gurus are not allowed although I have seen a historic film of the Gurus with moving graphics (computer generated) - These have not raised any objections and in fact are very effective in conveying the historic facts. So it seems that computer generated films will be OK as long as they toe the accepted line and if they are historical. I cannot however, see the Gurus been acted by actors - This is a no-go area at present.
I personally feel that this is holding back some huge mileage that Sikhi could get. Just imagine a film about Guru Gobind Singh - it would be a blockbuster and most of the world would learn about Sikhi in 2 hours! I think we need to put some articles on this point so that the we can crystallise our ideas and present a coherent picture of how things stand and how this can be developed in the future. Regards, Hari Singh 19:00, 6 February 2008 (MST)
SSA Bhai sahib,
First things first - my best email at present is: [email protected]
I agree with your analysis that if we do not visualise the history of the Gurus, then we are denying the present generation the opportunity to learn about some fascinating human facets. However, I do not believe that there is any Hukam by the Gurus not to produce a film! Obviously films did not exist then and the Sikhs would not have understood even if the Gurus had mentioned it. I believe that this is a self-imposed ban - primarily to stop bollywood exploiting this history and depicting the Gurus negatively.
However, I believe that when the right director comes along, then a film will be produced - but sadly it may take many years before this happens. I believe that first we will get computer generated moving graphics and then things will take off. Could you imagine the current that would run in the cinema theatre when they witness the battles of the tenth master! the zafarnama; the fight of the rightful against the mighty wrongdoer.
I am not a frequent film goer but I can imagine the set in the film Jodhaa Akbar. When bollywood works well, they produce stunning results. As I said don't ever say never. That reminds me - You know there is a tale that Guru Gobind Singh left a Hukam that if anyone built a place of remembrance for him, that person's ancestry would come to an end. When Maharaj Ranjit Singh wanted to construct Gurdwaras in the name of the tenth master, he was reminded to this hukam by Guru Gobind Singh. Maharaj Ranjit Singh replied, "I don't care for my ancestry - as long as I have breath in my lungs, I will continue to build Gurdwaras for my Guru, who sacrificed his all for us!"
So you never know when the next big step will take place - but it will happen. I agree that at present the situation is a hindrance for us but we will move forward on this front when the right people are around. If a group of dedicated Sikhs decided to produce a film about the Gurus, and it is approached in the right way then it will be possible. So hold on..... we will get that mega blockbuster with a spiritual message soon! Regards, Hari Singh 17:34, 7 February 2008 (MST)
- Film about Guru Nanak - Part2 - See what you think?
Jo Bole So Nihal is a movie which show nudeness and adult comedy too. The Line Jo Bole So Nihaal is sacred to sikhs. So thats why sikhs were saying to change its name or to remove nude scenes. and about 3 - 4 scenes were cut from the movie.
Like hari Singh said i also want to add Guru Gobind Singh also said that "who will treat me as a god he will go to the hell". Here some dedicated sikhs reply to this message is that" We will treat guru Gobind singh Guru so what if we go to hell". Well its dedication of sikhs towards there guru.
I want to add a serial called Ramayana in which a human was doing the role of Ram. When that hero went to some villages in UP people start praying him, they were treating him as a ram. See the result.
There are many illitrate and agyani people here. They see Allenwala is doing role of Jesus they treat you as jesus. Like in Passion of christ that man play role of jesus and in my mind when i remember jesus that man's image comes to my mind. I think you understand in my dull english what i want to say. We start treating that person as a guru and one more thing nobuddy is that much pure to do the role of Guru, Jesus, mohomad or Ram. But they shows images instead of guru's in guru film that is also wrong.
Well if you watch the movies the more stress is on opposite mask. Like in Chotey Shahibzade Shaheed the more stress is given on Wazir khan rather then chotey shahibzadey.
Well my mind makes movie of Guru Arjun Dev but when i think of Guru Arjun i think about his potrait, if a movie comes and like allenwala is doing that role then whenever i wanna remember guru arjun dev you comes in my mind. Sorry for boring you with my boring english hope you understand what i want to say.
When i pray god before Guru Guru Nanak Photos comes in my mind. We cant see god so mind make a fictional chrachter in mind and that is the porait made by some great painters. When Christ come to my mind the Actor of Passion of christ Jim Caviezel comes in my mind. These changes the mind setup. user:hpt_lucky
O Allenwala G
- agyanta(Unwise) i mean lack of knowledge is agyani donot know the proper word
- I was not saying that only this factor matters. I was saying that this also happens. This is not a major problem. I was just telling you something. You take this quote seriously actually i wrote this to you in serious manner its not the serious matter.
- I also want to make movie of Guru Arjun Dev the Martydom the Passion Of Guru Arjun Dev but how it feels that No Guru Arjun Dev is shown. SGPC and other Sikh units will not allow us to make the movie. and you know once they allow you will get not holly not bolly but Sikhiwood.
- But know these organizations makes every sikh mind rigid to the matter so know if you ask anybuddy he will reply """Kisey aimeyee dehdhari manukh nu Guru da role kimey de dayiae""(How can anybuddy play the role of those godly spirit?). This thing lead to orthodoxity rigidity. Jodha Akbar is different concept and hritik is not suited for the role Amir Khan should do the role. He is best for this.
- Know you are saying Sikh actor or actor from sikh community as i told nobuddy will ever try to do role of sikh gurus mentality man. I can explain all above in punjabi better then in english. You know my Beautiful english..........user:hpt_lucky
What do you think
Just your view. An inspiration of Guru nanak has founded in Istanbul turkey, its just on west part of turkey,To reach there Guru nanak have to travel through Jordan, Israel, plaestine, Syria and in return he reached azerbaizan in russia then enters iraq, Iran, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan & Pakistan to his native. Well my first question Guru nanak if travel by foot how much day it takes to cover so long journey???
- How he reached mecca?? From Karachi he took boat and reached jeddah or he travveled along sea shore oman, yemen then saudi????
- One more thing enters my mind Khuhram shahr guru nanak went and that is on south of iran if guru nanak went baghdad in iraq and went there on south of iran then why he go to north in tehran or masshad............and if he went from baghdad to north of iran then when he covered Khuhrm sehar and bushehar. West Journey is bit confusing.
- Ok suppose from Medina in saudi he directly enter Baghdad in iraq and havent visit Turkey, russia or syria then also the above point rises. He visits mashad by many historians, He visit Khoram and bushsr by many historians and he visited Syria and palestine also by many historians.
Due to Muslim countries they just washed away the guru nanak's related places or material. No inspiration in Mecca, Medina, Jeddah, Russia, Afghanistan even(Hail Taliban). Instances found in Iran, Iraq, Turkey and others are just vanished or washed. route is bit confusing to me
What your mind says..........user:hpt_lucky

Actually i asked the previous question after 2 hours study on travels. My eyes started paining while watching computer.
Namak Means salt in punjabi we say Narak You are right Nanak was adventourous, Like saint namdev or Ramanand who just have only single place i.e Maharashtra or UP if Nanak was non adventourous then his seema must be in Punjab only. But he visited many many places.
Its said when mardana died in khoram shahr(Its grave was 2.5 km from railway station which was vanished). He returned to afghanistan or pakistan dont know and told mardana's son that his father had died and with his son they move back to their grave. if this is true then to go there he should not follow the path from mashad. He might visit from bushehar in south.
This above comes in my mind bec from going bushear to north iran is amazing thing and he must visited & he must have visited sirjan, shiraz to enter in afghanistan.
Actually you know i am writing an article under Sikhiwiki:Project Guru Nanak Dev i.e Guru Nanak In Iran so iran journey is just confusing me. Was guru nanak visiting Iran in Zigzag manner, Or He visited the place while return journey or while going towards west.
If return journey then movement is like - Baghdad(Iraq), Khorram Shahhr, Bushehar,in totally south again went to north totally northern areas tehran and masshad then went kandhar in afghanistan.
Soma Maps in google image search are drawn very wrong.
Well if he have spiritual powers then the above said is not a difficult task not at all. My article The 18 Spiritual Powers tell this.
- one more as he was a saintly sufi personality he must visit israel Jerusulam(Isa(Christ) & third holy city of moslems.....What do you think??,
Allenwala G i am crazy to go to iran. I am filling the passport forms and applying for it. Iran have many raaz in it about guru nanak. During return journey he just not keep on moving towards afghanistan. He must stayed there for many days in different cities. I donot have proper sources. Well i will try to find guru nanak studies of more authors they must have described. KhorramShahr, Bushahr are confirmed places. Masshad & Tehran i read in many articles. If you get sources for Guru Nanak in Iran do not hesitate to add please. Add your name as participant in Guru Nanak's Project. Enjoy. Actually No Buddy this buddy habbit i got from chatting yahoo chatting i will care now buddy ohhhhhhh i mean body i mean sir.
One more question
Guru Arjun Dev: First Put in Hot Water cladrone dipped upto neck and fire under it, then put red hot sand on him, then iron plate hot and make him sit on it. What physical body changes comes??? how body hair clothes, nail and each part affected?? Explain or ask from any bio student. please xplain in some brief

Hello Allen jee
Well i came back today in evening 5. I am doint postgraduate from outside my hometown so was not able to came in contact with internet. Well i asked many people why movies related to gurus cant be made?? Why i cant show guru in the movie and i got maximum replies "Kisi wich ini aukaad nahin hai, kee sadi guru jee da sarrer tae awaaz nu dharan kar sakey". (Nobuddy is that much pure that he can adopt the roop and voice of our gurus, and if he is pure he will never do it). This is the mentality. So this topic ends up here.user:hpt_lucky
Alen Ji you are free to add in this article. Guru Nanak Sahib Ji and Martin Luther read the article and your comments please
You was saying that nanak in mecca is a myth. I also think the same abt mecca but but but Here his inscriptions are founded in Uganda, Africa too. Know Mecca, so i cannot say it a myth.
Nanak Was really a great adventurer. Well Gurdwara Joga singh i just put on discussion. I havent edit some artciels i will edit when i get the time.
- Guru Nanak Towards West - 12000 Km(Pakistan, Saudi, Iraq, Iran, Afghan & Pak) to 16000 Km(If we includes Pak, Saudi, Syria, turkey, Rome, Israel, Armenia, Azerbaizan, Turkistan, Uzbekistan, Tazakhistan) Km he travelled
- Guru Nanak toward south - around 5500 Km he travveled(Included sri lanka)
- Guru nanak Towards East - 5300 Km included Burma
- Guru Nanak in north - 3300 Km included chinese parts sikkim & tibet nepal jammu kashmir.
Well my search & Research will go on i will hire some books fopr proper references i am starting reading two books i got.
Again Sat Shri Akaal
Wel i read an article of Gurbaksh singh kala afghana he wrote, Guru Nanak not actually rotate the Kaaba. When he laid down, feet at the side of kaaba, And Hazis & Peers & Kazis said "Who the rebel is this who laid down in this way. "Donot know the allah is here and his feet is towards the allah". When guru nanak replied " Freind turn my feet there where allah is not". Every buddy get stunned & start thinking where to turn the feet. Then nasihat & Hazarnama tells the discussion between kazis, hazis, peers & Guru Nanak.
Well i believe that Guru Nanak must visit Mecca, Medina & Jerusulam too as you know these place are highest place of religons & to defeat the rigidity & true message he must visited these places. Rome, Italy, Romania looks a myth but research is going on. Ateshgah is also highest place of Zorothustra.
Rotation of mecca is totally rejected by this author. Rotation of people mind supported by him.(sorry 4 poor english)user:hpt_lucky

Gud Mng Sir, i see u r on
Allen Bhaa jee
First of all Sat Shri Akaal, Actually that article sikhism islam i am comparing some with gurus teachings. These lines are the base of every religon. Sikhism is monotheist & Islam is also monotheist religon. Practises are different. I am just comparing Quran & Living Guru as some teaching are similar
Mr Harpreet is doing a comparitive study of Muslim with Sikhs.
What u have said , u r r8 in ur views but as a sikh we have respect 4 every religion as taught and practised by our Great Gurus even if someone is wrong.
Live example is : The foundation stone of Harmandir Sahib was laid by a Muslim.
The picture being small and unclear of no use,I will try to find some new of the same. Anyway thanks 4 the efforts.

R8 sir the killing of innocents shud be condemded. Ur views are also respectworthy. Thanks Gudnight
What about this picture. No mai ka laal will able to delete the tag know he ha ha ha ha ha ha.
OK well thats best to write in centre www.sikhiwiki.com(Transparent/Translucent Image). then putting logo here as people can easily remove the logo. Credit is to sikhiwiki not to me. i can upload it without logo too. But i am working for this site and i do not want anybuddy else to use the source by putting their own logo. So its best to put the logo of website which i dedicated to. Your idea is cool. Actually i donot know the full functionality of adobe photoshop, else i will prepare a tag for sikhiwiki so that noone can delete it. The upper is just a demonstration.
Sikhiwiki has faces some copyright problems with some websites like Sarabhlod and others as i took articles from there and throw them here. Their images were also copyrighted. But i used the same technique deleted the tags and all that. They start saying me that i will be prosecuted whatever. But they do not know the content they have is also not acceptable by many communities and if they do anything to me then i write letter to sikh highest authoroties about the contents over there and they will see them in future. Well this thing is not related with that. Actually when i read copyright on any sikhism website sarabl;oh comes in my mind and that [email protected] who used to write rubbish about me fr sake of money nothing else. Hari singh and others helped and take control on the whole matter. well leave that.
I understand what you want to say but not fully(My english is great you know). Well your idea is not bad its cool. I will try to work on it too. But lack of time and studies in between and non availability of internet at the place where i studies(140 KM from my city). I comes online when i come am at my home in weekends or 2. Take Care Good Afternoon Sat Shri Akaal..user:hpt_lucky

In Punjabi, it is quite Ok to refer to people as clocks and say "What, have you struck 12 O'clock!" - "Key taray barah waaj-gay hah!". All roads are made this way ,after metalling layers of Bitumen are laid called black topping. The roads u r talking about r only metalled roads.

You was asking about
You were asking about movies relatd to sikhism there are three movies made on sikhism by a local director, Onle movie dedicated to Guru Arjun Dev and Guru Arjun Dev is not shown in whole movie. other on guru tegh bahadur & guru Tegh Bahadur is also not shown. We have to just assume that guru is presently here. Well if gurus were shown then movie must become too violent as you know what happened to both of them. (Lucky 06:38, 14 March 2008 (MDT))

Sorry for the delay
Hi Richard, Sat Sri Akal
Sorry have been away at my wife's nephew's wedding for the last 3 days so have not been able to reply earlier. yes, ka-cch-aa is opposite of paa-kah which means solid; permanent; ripe - so kaaccha means temporary; feeble; unripe and when referring to a road, it means a mud road.
It is amazing how with a bit of research about one learns new and interesting facts about events that have taken place in the world recently which would have remained unknown if you had not stumbled on the story.
morcha is like saka and means agitation or demonstration

Sat Shri Akaal
why report so called miracles of ram rai, if his father forbid seeing or having anything to do with him why report that which got him banished. read through six.
horses generally have horses.
and some one with several daughters is most likely to have a son.
who recorded these. who were the witnesses?
when has telling on someone's fraud in eating a portion of mutton, been a miracle?
Well Santokh Singh Ghotra and some historians recorded some 10 - 15, but How it reaches upto 72 i dunno know that mystery. If you really want to know i think Baba Ram Rai Darbar at dehradoon must have the collections of his miracles. He preached guru nanak all the way after he got away from panth
There are many typing errors(Gramatical), even logical errors too. I just translated the article from a book(Twarikh Guru Khalsa) to english i mean rough english and hope guys, like you, will correct it.
But it is said that Baba Ram Rai shown many miracles and the last miracle which is the blunder i.e changing the line of gurbani took him away from the panth. He went to dehradoon and many people goes and bows at his darbar prays him and those people are reffered to ram rayiaas. If ram rai baba did not do that then he would be our eighth guru.
Well he preached all way the guru nanak's bani like sri chand do, sri chand followers are called udasi and ram rai followers are called ram rayias and died a amazing death i.e was doing yoga and laid in deep meditation and people declared him dead and burned him and he was alive.(Lucky 00:40, 18 March 2008 (MDT))
Sat Sri Akal Richard
"Follows" here is to convey the fact that although it is on the same day as holi, the Guru has given it a different significance - added to the "meaning" of this event; made it more relevant to the requirement of the time; rather than splashing colours on each other - go and get some martial training, etc - become a more fitter community - its not a different time frame.
I think the timing is the day following the night of the full moon in March - spring time - in Chet or before chet.
The first day of Chet is the Nanakshahi new year which is "sparsely" celebrated.
In 1889, the British were controlling Punjab, but I believe that the Khalsa Diwan had local control and influence in matters relating to religion.
Please make changes as you see fit based on above - the article is at: Hola Mohalla and the main page template at: Template:AOW16. If you need more info, please post on my talk page. Thanks and kind regards, Hari Singh 21:14, 20 March 2008 (MDT)

AOW - Gurdwara Shaheed Dr. Diwan Singh
Thanks to your comment "really worth the read." spotted on the recent changes page, I was prompted to put the article Gurdwara Shaheed Dr. Diwan Singh on the Main Page. Thanks for doing a wonderful job editing the articles and making those useful comments! Hari Singh 20:20, 27 March 2008 (MDT)
Hi Richard, Thanks for the message. I think that generally as a society, we learn little about our own histories let alone that of others. It is a shame! Without this knowledge, it is difficult for us to aspire the younger generation and learn anything from the past. The guilty who have committed terrible crimes go free. Surely that cannot be right! The barbaric need to called barbaric so that in the future no one will tread on such a lowly path. I am not sure if this based on the book that you quote but it could be added as a reference for information purposes.
Thanks again. Regards, Hari Singh 11:09, 28 March 2008 (MDT)
Sat Shri Akaal
Sat Shri Akaal Allenwalla G,
Allenwalla Wrote - is poihi correct? or gurbdm? / gutkd to gutka/kateb and Qur'dn to - kitab or Qur'an/ potlhaka or potlaka?)
- that correction i had made it is POTHI not POHIHI &
- It was gurbani not gurbdm and
- gutka is proper punjabi word not gutkb.
- Kateb(Not Kitab) is a single word used for four Granths includes (Taurat: The Book of Moses), (Zabur: The Book of David), (Injil: New Testament) and Quran. Kateb word mostly used with Vedas as you know there are 4 Vedas too so Ved and Kateb comes together in bani. So Quran is a part of Kateb. It is likely that Guru Nanak met Christian and Jewish missionaries during his extensive travels to the west.
- Kitab means Book, if holy book it is said Muqadas kitab like quran is a muqadas kitab. It is i think persion word.
- potlhaka or potlaka? - From where you has taken these words??
I had checked the pic of Dr. Diwan singh gurdwara there is no problem at all, that time i just put logo there as you can see in previous pics i used to put my user name. Know i am not doinbg so so good job by removing that name and to insert the tag of sikhiwiki. Dr. Diwan singh was a great man. Whenever japnese attacks on any country they did bad with the people lived over there. Read the artiocle the massacre & Rape of nanking you will get to know what japnese are, the same japnese did at Andamans. Many people even sikhs do not know about Dr. Diwan SIngh Kalepani. Doctor suffered a lottttttttttt there. What he was, actually that gurdwara was his home. If you really want to know what havoc happened to andaman islands you should visit there once in life.
The only mention of any attack on the Indian area, that i knew of, was one recorded in the logs of a Nihon Kaigun submarine which surfaced and lobbed a few shells into Columbo....................I Do not know about this. Japnese attacked india during second world war during that time they captured whole islands.I have visited the ross island of japnese, there i visited some protestant church and other old graveyards and bla bla. That island contains 350 deers and upto 150 Peacocks. Nice island. Well tour to Andaman was a great experience. Sat Shri Akaal (Lucky 09:40, 28 March 2008 (MDT))

Bramh Kamal not kanwal its like Kamal means lotus. This lotus grows in rocks.
- Bhoj Patar’ ??
Bhoj Patar are Big leaves of some tree, name i forgot, these leaves are used as plate for eating food, Mostly in india at various hindu's temples, they uses bhoj patar, bhoj means food, patar means a leave in which the food is served.

really sad to hear about that tornado.. your language skills impress me.. how many languages can u speak/understand?
about shaheed singhs, they can give their appearence to ANYONE, even a Mona Sikh. But they Protect gursikhs three months after theyve taken amrit. This is like a trial period. If they keep rehit it is prelonged till the moment they break rehit. If in the first three months they break rehit, then there is high chance that they will never appear again.
and for the gurdwaras in pakistan my source is a book of Iqbal Qaiser and also some sites on the net. After completing Gurdwaras in Pakistan, where there will be 150 articles on the 150 known gurdwaras of pakistan i'll shift to making biographies of shaheeds and also sikh battles. talk to u soon again. Your welcome sir. And thanks for editing. Many valuable things have been added to that article, only because of your efforts. Thanks again. However i'll correct some phrases (not more than 3-4).... But it is quite possible and logical of what you said that they already knew before it. But neither u or neither me were there, so u could be write but mine could be right too. And could u please also give special attention to these pages: (I know you won't be able to add much, because there isn't much info about these)
These articles can't even be called stubs. they have basically no information. so try to add some lines based on assuptions, because i see that you are good at that. like Baba Manochal was surrounder at village manochal. You can say he was visiting his family at manochal or he was hiding at manochal or whatever lol.
But some of the following have much information but need copyediting, correction of spelling mistakes, grammar and some more lines with assumptions etc
- Manochal Encounter (1985)
- Rataul Encounter
- Behla Encounter
- Sarhali Bridge Encounter
- Manakpur Encounter (HERE A QUITE BIG MIRACLE HAPPENED, keep that in mind)
You think maybe i'm going to contributr to sikhiwiki. But thats wrong. I just had vacations of 2 weeks from skool so i contributed here. But exams are nearing and i have to study. Vacations are finished tommorow. So after that i wont come that regurly. And yes my support for sikhi and khalistan is because of my father, a khalistani himself. My far related uncles were big kharkoos: Manjit Singh Babbar & Talwinder Singh Canadian. So they both are my role models amongst sant ji.
Another mega article i will be working on is Operation Blue Star and my biggest problem is to find the shaheeds of it. According to a book with the pic of all shaheeds of the operation there were 207 shaheeds. But even in that books the shaheedi date of many is not known. There are maybe tons of shaheeds that are marked like this
Name - Group - Father - Mother - Date of Shaheedi: 4-5 June/6-7 june
I hope you get what i mean. So please also help me with that article. I know that this is a big demand, but still only you can help me.
Thanks in advance Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 10:32, 5 April 2008 (MDT)

Well That man is Harpal Singh Kasoor the owner of that website. I do not have passport(Lol) will apply soon. What you think on the facts given by him??
Tell me one thing "mentality of christians about sikhs". The photograph of a man which met me at gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh name amrik Singh Hundal photograph is there, is mukh sewadar and founder of that place, have keen knowledge and great thinkings will write about them in article. He told when he was at cannada some people, who thought that they were christians start abusing mr. hundal and passing wrong comments to his turban, once he ignored second time they passed comment about beard, You are not a man you looks like a monkey, hundal sir stops and asked that who is your dharam guru/God. they replied jesus, hundal said ok go and bring photograph of jesus. Those lips were sealed. And a great fact Mr. Hundal Said that i love my guru as my father and i am his son and thats why i have adopted this attire. He advices me no one is big no one is small but belief of every religon do not support say something wrong about other religons, and also adviced me never think sikhism is great of all and every religon is small. Never hurt other sentiments.........well will write article there and you have to make grammatical corrections he gave me 2 hour lecture without pause for breath.(Lucky 11:10, 5 April 2008 (MDT))

Answers? Phew don't know!
Sat Sri Akal Richard ji,
Shaheedi articles - I suppose, it is always interesting/intriguing when a person is prepared to die or to be tortured for a cause. We wonder why these men or women want to endure such pain and hardship or even death! Then when we see one article on shaheedi, it reminds another person of another shaheedi and so the whole thing escalates! We have a long list of Shaheeds - hopefully we will go on to other topics soon.
umbrella in Sikhi imagery - It has always been the custom to "protect" the guru by using a canopy like a umbrella on a long handle and I believe that this idea has been extended to the architecture as a sign of reverence and respect for the Guru. The idea is extended to the SGGS when there is always a draping called a "chanani" - like a huge umbrella but without a handle above the Guru. The chanani is also used when the SGGS is move in rain, etc. I don't think that it is linked to the idea of a "celestial world" - but you never know!
Nishan Sahib (NS) includes covering on pole - Why? Very interesting question! I have no idea why the pole is covered but the belief/custom is this: Nishan means mark - The NS marks the place where the Guru resides. The flag is the symbol of the Guru and all the values of the Guru - fairness, equality, etc, etc. So you will see Sikhs go and bow to the NS as a sign of respect for the values that this symbolises, transmits and advertises. The NS is respected as a "person" not the same way as the Guru but a little like that and carefully and respectful washed with yogurt (which probably was used as soap) and is then "dressed" like a person. When the NS dress is changed, it is done as a big event where the sangat takes pride in bathing the NS, drying and then dressing the NS.
Does not answer the question but you may "see" something in this custom which is not clear to us old timer Sikhs! (may be forgotten like the pineapple custom)
Coconut and 5 paise Yes, I know when the new Guru was appointed, a coconut and 5 paise were given as a gift to the new Guru by the "out-going" Guru. I don't know why this was done apart from the symbolic act of transferring the Guruship in the eyes of all those present to the new Guru.
Image:A-VERSION-WITH-SIKHISM.jpg I think you are right when you say this is a busy graphic. What if we change the stars to circles, ellipses or triangles? May be it will calm things down - esp if the symbols fit in the rim of the chakkar. I like the khanda piercing anger. So as a 2nd development the khandas could pierce the remaining 4 evils!
Gosh - thats a lot to write and TO READ! Hope you find it interesting. Kind regards, Hari Singh 18:16, 8 April 2008 (MDT)
Well good points sir. Yes that article isn't mine. (of Sher Singh Shera). But i will try to edit and correct it asap. Anyways, how are the edits going? And hows life? Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 10:30, 9 April 2008 (MDT)

Sat Sri Akal Richard ji
This is a concept which is much misunderstood around the world. It is difficult to support some of the acts that some organisations including the Sikhs have adopted.
To kill even one innocent person cannot be called martyrdom! To destroy property of the innocent cannot be called martyrdom. I agree with you that many youth these days have moved away from Naam and Sewa but have aspiration of Shaheedi! Wow - how can that be?
"He burst the bonds of mortal clay and went on to the abode of God. No one ever performed an act as noble as did Tegh Bahadur.
With the departure of Tegh Bahadur, the world was stricken with sorrow. A wail of horror rent the earth, A victor's welcome by the dwellers of heaven."
Brainwashing children to commit suicide is unforgivable - How will they repay the debt!
To die or "stand in harms way" to save the innocent makes sense and I can understand the tear for this brave Seal! We praise and support such folks who are pursuing the path of righteousness.
As you say, a Sikh cannot support the idea of suicide even in extreme situations - The Japanese are difficult to understand - They have a tinted past. And this practise is very awkward; also the "kamakazi" pilots - very difficult to understand or support.
I agree that the Mughals could not have been defeated if the Sikhs had followed the example of the Japanese; the Sikh VC list would be very short!
Kind regards, Hari Singh 20:06, 10 April 2008 (MDT)
- Chanani is canopy so yes blue cloth canopy is indeed chanani. The wooden structure to carry the Guru is called a Palki. The small "bed" like structure on which the Guru is placed is called the Manji Sahib. A bit confusing but we are getting there. Hari Singh 20:22, 10 April 2008 (MDT)

Did the Guru's perform miracles?
Hi Richard ji, SSA
I think it boils down to whether one believes that the Gurus went out of their way to perform miracles or not. I believe that they did not. However, miracles may have happened around them - In the Bachitar Natak Guru sahib says in chapter 5 - The Spiritual Kings verse 14: "The saints of the Lord abhor the performance of miracles and malpractices. 14."
It appears that they do not want to influence the Hukam - will of the Lord. The sakhi of Baba Atal is another bit of evidence that pushes me into believing that miracles were not performed if at all possible to avoid - they have negative karmic influence - which I am sure that the Guru could counter but why do it if it is not necessary.
So I feel that the Guru would not have actually killed the 5 but I could be wrong - I can't be 100% sure. We can never prove what actually happened. So to save argument, I have looked at it from the angle of the sangat. The sangat definitely believed that the 5 had died - just like in the movies - but this was for real right in front of their eyes!
And I think that's what matters - doesn't it? What do you think? regards, Hari Singh 18:21, 13 April 2008 (MDT)

still very bad to hear.....
Sad to hear about the flight. May waheguru bless uncle jis soul. The photo with the beed... Well sorry to say but for me it looked ugly.... I mean sir, if u want u can put it back too.... And this pic, i've seen u posting somewhere that the pic of maharaja and hari singh along with british generals is fake... But i don't think so.. If it is.. Then who are these persons? And the so-called portraits of mahraja were mostly made after his demise... And yh thanks for correcting spelling mistakes. Surely it is GURDWARA. ~~
I have looked at the blog article but I am not convinced by this article. The photo appears genuine and is used at several Gurdwaras. Just because it does not look similar to sketches of the time is not a scientific analysis or a proper way to do comparisons - a lot of emotive text but no real hard reasoning. I remain convinced that this is not a fake. Thanks for highlighting the blog article. Kind regards, Hari Singh 09:00, 19 April 2008 (MDT)

I hadnt read ur message well.. u said:
My understanding is that, while many Sikhs may add superlatives to the Guru's names, out of respect to the Gurus, is that they, the Gurus, did consider themselves mortal men -sons of God, Waheguru, as every other human was a son or child of God.
I remember Guru Gobind Singh, if i remember correctly, having a few choice words to say for anyone who would promote him to such a status.
But this gurbani quotation clearly shows that all gurus were waheguru themselve:

Yes this are words by Guru Arjan. As you know when a guruship is passed to another guru same time the light too passes.. So Guru Arjan had the same light as guru nanakji
And i agree with your stance and ur evidence: the mool mantar
some views on the subject from the net
Guru Ji wanted us to worship Akal Purakh only, and was not like the previous avtars who made people worship themselves. Of course there is no difference between SatGuru and Akal Purakh, but worship is only for Akal Purakh. This is the reason we don't worship images/idols of the Gurus, although some say its ok to keep them as a token of remembrance alone. H2O is in the form of solid (ice), liquid (water), and gas (water vapor), but which one can you drink? Only water which is the liquid form. One can't drink the solid or the gaseous form, even though all 3 are the same in composition (H2O). Same way, Bani Guru Guru hai Bani, Gur Parmesar eko jaan, therefore Bani = Guru = Vaaheguroo, but we worship only Vaaheguroo.
Nimrita. As Guru Sahib wrote in Sri Dasm Granth (particularly Chaubis Avtar and Bachitar Natak), all previous Avtars succumbed to haumai and had their followers worship them.
There was also a danger that people would get attached to that particular sareer and fall into a form of idol worship. It happens today as well, we call Guru Granth Sahib Ji our Guru, matha tek, prevent beadbi etc but can't be bothered to follow the teachings.
No difference. The Guru and God are truly one, yet the guru says to be lowest of the low, servant of his entire creation but this his nimrata. In reality, he is the highest of high. He is one with God. He lives under the hukam. Its just God in human body!

Is Siri a typo?
No, I don't think Siri is a typo. It can be spelt as Sri or Shri or as Siri. These are different versions of the same word which is pronounced slightly differently. Typing Siri Singh in Google produces 138,000 results - I don't know what that means but perhaps it shows that many people use the word Siri. Unfortunately, it creates a problem for writers but its one of those things. I personally prefer Sri but all 3 appear equally well used! I hope this helps? Regards, Hari Singh 19:53, 26 April 2008 (MDT)
Regarding, Navneet Singh Khadian, rec'ce - means - Reconnaissance means - An inspection or exploration of an area, especially one made to gather military information. And @ means 'alias'.
Please check my other artickes Harjinder Singh Jinda, Sukhdev Singh Sukha, General Labh Singh and Gurdev Singh Debu as well and please let me know if I anything is needed to be improved out there as well. I need some help over here, Gurdev Singh Debu was boiled alive and pictures of his boiled body are available online, but these might be protected by copyrights. Would you please try getting these pictures for Sikhiwiki and/or wikipedia please.
Also, I have read a lot of information regarding Khalistan Movement, the related personalities and huge number of crimes committed by Indian security forces in some of the north-Indian newspapers, but unfortunately this information is not available online. For example, The Tribune, one of north-Indian newspapers does not have any online editions prior to year 2001 and Ajit, a regional newspaper of India etc did not have any online editions untill very recently. Also, India’s National magazine, Frontline does not have archive records prior to 1997. Any advice on this matter please...--Singh6 16:58, 28 April 2008 (MDT)
Hello ji. That article isn't written by me. Nice changes.
Khalistan will be a sort of Demoratic Theocratic state. Democratic that the population, regardless of faith could choose the president and theocracy by the national anthem and prime minister and president will be Sikhs. Everyone will have rights. But its quite difficult.. Most of us are dreaming right now.. And maybe when it will be established, corrupt leaders like Prakash Badal and our gurdwara pardhans will (maybe) takeover khalistan... And that may result into a Sikh version of Pakistan.. Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 08:33, 29 April 2008 (MDT)
SSA everybody. all sysops and contributors.
I have a big request. Sorry for the language, but that google translator thingie just SUCCCKKKS... I mean like i can speak dutch at a native level.. ANd when i translated it with google half of the page was full of grammatical mistakes et al... If it sucks in dutch and french so i can already imagine that the translations also suck in chinese, arabic etc
So can't we setup something like wikipedia.
en.sikhiwiki.org/ nl.sikhiwiki.org/ fr.sikhiwiki.org/ pu.sikhiwiki.org/ (in punjabi)
something in that direction
this is just proposed
And if you do it (WHAT I REALLY WANT!)
I promise i'll atleast translate 1000 pages of SikhiWiki.org to nl.sikhiwiki! And + great quality
And this is a big challenge...
I hope Hari Singh ji, you don't dissaprove of it..

Sat Sri Akal Richard ji,
I have noticed that you are doing a lot of work on this article - potentially a FA. I am not sure of the answers. Please give me some time and I will reply on the talk page.
Your guess on the first bit seems correct but i am not sure of the local geography. The muslim food bit is puzzling with the kirpan/prayer/etc seems a bit odd and bit of cultural baggage. I will need to spent some time on the article and check with other sources - i have a book by dalip singh - i will see if he say anything in the book. I will come back soon. Keep well, Hari Singh 10:07, 2 May 2008 (MDT)

Glad to hear that your wife is in good health.
Sorry, to have not responded to your messages in the proper manner. I am afraid the messaging system on Wiki is not its strong point. If two people leave messages then unfortunately, I have been known to write to the last person in reply to both the messages. However, I am glad that you were able to figure out the reply from Sunny ji.
As you know, GGS has forbidden us to address him as god and has clearly said that anyone who does so will go to hell thus:
Bani of Guru Gobind Singh in the Dasam Granth Page 137
- Whosoever shall call me the Lord, shall fall into hell. Consider me as His servant. 32.
so many have praised GGS but you cannot elevate the Guru to God!
It great to know that you plan to write a book. Sound great and I wish you every luck in its early completion. I know that it will be most fascinating as you appear to have a special skill with words and language. Your insight will be very revealing to a lot of people.
Your details about language are truly very interesting, especially when you link them to the Gurus as it gives us a much sharper meaning to the Guru's message - This is never burdensome. I am impressed with how language has developed and how many simple words can be linked to other languages going thousand of miles to the east.
Its amazing how you have mentioned words from the zafarnama - it would be great if you could write a little about some of the words in the zafarnama that appear striking to you.

When all the stratagem employed for (solving) an affair or problem are exhausted,(only) then taking your hand to the sword is legitimate.
You know, it is amazing how i as a punjabi sikh sometimes learn more about the Guru' message when i read articles written by western sikhs! I find that the w/sikhs have a refreshing view without the cultural baggage to the e/sikhs.
similarly, i think that when bani is looked at by western people, sometimes they see the true and global meaning of the message in the Guru's words while the traditional sikhs are unable to appreciate the true implications of the words. thank you for your kind words, regards Hari Singhtalk 17:15, 8 May 2008 (MDT)

Bibi is either used for a Sikh preacher ot respect them (not depending on age) or if not in that use, its used for old woman or just to respect woman not girls.. and the 'funny' thing was that baba ji (at an age where u tease girls, etc) respected them and used a word which is actually for older girls = > woman. thats why the teacher laughed, coz he used the term bibi for a schoolgirl u see. its a bit difficult to explain but i hope you get it.

Its Tarna Dal i think.
Well that hind thing is very controversial and also mostly unknown.
The Punjab and Sindh region, was called SAPAT SINDHU. The river Sindh was called Indu (Indus in Greek and nowadays English)
So those idolworshipper were not only in Sapat Sindhu but were spread till Middle East, Egypt. U know the Muhammad of Muslims broke 360 idols that where in Mecca. And some of them were of (Hindu) gods and godesses. The most widely accepted reason for the spread is BUSSINESS. The inhabitants of Sapat Sindh, Indus (not Hindus) dealt as far as Arabia and Egypt. They brought a large part of their culture-religion into those areas...
When Mughals invaded present day north India, they named those people HINDU, which was INDU before. Hindu meant thief and/or cheater in 'persian' (or one of those languages)
Hope it you understand.
Had a partial exam bio, i think i got 29/30....

Sat Shri Akaal
First, Tarna Dal it is the nihang dal, Headquarters at Harian Vailan whose photo i have uploaded, All Nihang Sikhs at Harian Vailan Gurdwara are from Tarna Dal. That Singh who is doing Isnaan(Bathing) is one who told me about Buddha Dal and Tarna Dal and that man with horse is a sewadar who take cares of horse. They take care of horses, Shastras and Sikhi. While doing ardas they use to pray for horses too. So the photo is of a sewadar of tarna dal/Gurdwara Harian vailan.Sant Nihal Singh is present mukhee of this dal.
Secondly, Sindhi are those people(Hindues mainly) who are followers of of other dieties but they say guru nanak a diety and they bow before guru granth sahib due to presence of guru nanak bani in it. They are inhead(not Khalsa), but they say themselves sikh of Guru Nanak like NanakPanthis, These people makes idol of guru nanak as you know that guru nanak abolished idol wordship.
They have different relations with sikhs. There temples are called Gurmandir and they have following dieties:
Lord Ganesh, Lakshmi, Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva complete with Shivling & Nandi, Shirdi Saibaba, Ram Sita & Lakshman (Ram Parivar), Lord Vishnu Devi Ma, Guru Nanak, Jhulelal.
So that articles on sikhiwiki is just for the purpose to show that Sindhis have some relation to sikhism especially Sindhi Hindues.
Thirdly, Vivekananda actually this topic i picked it up when i saw dayanand's topic, Vivekananda was a great swami, i just watching his views on sikhism and you must have read the article the mix response some book says what and some what so that article is not constructed fully as references are not properly given. Actual he compares Shivaji and Guru Gobind singh which sikhs do not want.
Here in India some Hindu dal like VHP, RSS, BD etc says sikhs are hindues and Sikhs here do not want that type of treatment they say that we have independent religon. Even Hindues say Buddhism jainism Sikhism are all hindues. So because of this thinking whole massacre occurs. Sikh people just want there rites Anandpur Sahib Resolution, which indian sarkaar government is not giving. there are many problems even today on this matter RSS.............Well thats long discussion
Sorry poor english. (Lucky 13:28, 23 May 2008 (UTC))
- The Nihangs Singhs are divided into four Dals (armies) or you can say them sects Tarna Dal, Bab Bidhi Chand Dal, Baba Bhindran Dal, and Baba Budha Dal.
- The Nihangs Singhs are divided into four Dals (armies) or you can say them sects Tarna Dal, Bab Bidhi Chand Dal, Baba Bhindran Dal, and Baba Budha Dal.
The Budha Dal is older sect have member above 40 yerars of age and tarna dal is called younger sect have member below 40 years of age.
Taruna dal is army which have again 5 misls: 1. Misil of Bhangi, 2. Misil of Ramgarhian’s, 3. Misil of Kanula, 4. Misil of Nabia, 5. Shakar Chakian Misil. Misaldars are sardar of these misls you can use word baron for them: Check it out. Well as you know you call gurdwara as Sikh temple.
Do not change the artcile of vivekananda let me find author name. If you want to change then shedd those points which looks vulgar.
Logo wass added in past but as adding logo takes time as i have bulk of photographs and no software which can add photo to all ogo at once. Well if any one want to copy the photo not steal. He is allowed to at least sikhiwiki should be a free resource. Let them remove logo if they want to.(Lucky 14:12, 23 May 2008 (UTC))
Sat Shri akaal again
Sardar use word only Gurdwaras but sardars outside india i do not know what they say. I have heard word Sikh church from many sardars, but not indian
But sikh temple is well known due to english people who came india and reside here for 200years. Do you know my grand dad told when the english people when came to gurdwaras before 1947, they use to bind turbans on there head and then comes inside, and my grand dad also told that english officials helped him in making gurdwara in Mandlay Burma.
English people say temple for every religon's worship place in india wether jain, buddhisam(Math), sikhi(Gurdwara) or any other. thats why Golden temple comes from. So temple word given by britishers not indians. I think difficulty to speak word Gurdwara thatswhy. (Lucky 07:04, 24 May 2008 (UTC))
Cool to know that, i didnt knew.. So what do we do? Revert it back to Taruna Dal?Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 09:31, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, richard for the message. The above article has been deleted as it has no connection with Sikhi. Sorry it took me a little time to deal with the matter but I am looking after my elderly dad who had a fall 2 weeks ago and is generally unwell. He does not have broadband at his house until next week. So until then and until he recovers more, will only be able to spent only 1 or 2 hours each day on SikhiWiki.
Many thanks for your continued effort in correcting the many pages on SikhiWiki. I see your name with the other "hard grafters" on the recent changes all the time. I have also read your attempt to make sense to many terms that appear a little strange like "sawing" which probably should have been "sowing", etc. Many of these articles have been OCR'ed from books etc by the previous users or other web-masters. When using OCR recognition software, the system find it difficult to deal with certain characters. common errors are:
|True character||OCR reads as:|
|l letter "l"||1 figure "1"|
|/ "dash"||I capital letter "I"|
Thank you Richard. With the grace of the Lord, dad is recovering well and together as a family we are able to support him physically and emotionally for most of the full day.
Unfortunately, we have become a forgetful society - we easily forget the hard work and dedication of our parents when we were young. Life in Kenya, East Africa during the 1950-1970 was pretty tough and our parents and many others like them who brought up kids then were a strong breed. Working physically extremely hard in a country which had lots of dangers and uncertainties.
To retire these type of parents to a "nursing home", in my opinion would be a sin. My parents don't use a computer but when other members of the family or I stay overnight at my parents, we have to come back to "our own home" to use the net; also the younger members of our family who are students need access to their notes from college, etc. So we decided to install broadband at my parents home so that when we are with dad and mum, we can surf the net and stay there for longer periods without having to leave them to get access to the net elsewhere. Also, it is amazing how we have become dependent on this technology - for banking; shopping; transportation info - checking times of arrivals & departures, congestion & traffic news; checking references and information like data on medicines; medical terms; communication - emails, etc, etc.
"Hopefully the extremists of any religion will never have their way." - I agree entirely. Wars and battles are a human disease which needs to be recognised and eradicated. Conflicts of the past are a scar on that civilization. The attack of 1984 is a black mark against the present Indian system; Jallianwalla massacre is a black mark against th British raj; Nazi & Hitler, a black mark on Germany, etc. This type of terrible behaviour marks the barbaric nature of man and will only end when we become more evolved spiritually and morally.
I have marked Bhai Jivan Singh in the proposed FA page and I will endeavour to put this up soon. We appear to have a back log of articles here now! Keep in great form and thanks for your kind concern, Hari Singhtalk 21:14, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

I know it may be wrong. For that a person have to go himself visit the whole places for research, no deep research is done. like harpal singh kasoor found all relevant information, photos different people views etc about Guru nanak Visit in Rome. Know here in punjab his research also published.
Above link shows the place from where i took the info. You may be right Nan in chinese is south. Well i will contact my chinese bros for whole info but after few months. i know some chinkey pinkey who knows about nanak travels. he travelled far tibet USSR.
The Provincial Governments of CHINA are reporting, that they had visits by Nanak. What is provincial governement of china who reported what reported do not know. thats why i havent gave the article name,,,Guru nanak in China.

Well, i'm 100% sure about last picture.. It was taken in 2004. And since renovations were carried out in 1995, it makes that this was how it looked 9 years after the renovations... But that other pic, i dont know what it is....
Have you heard...?? There are big fights in Belgium (Anderlecht).. Skinheads vs Moroccons (biggest minority group here, make up some 3-4% of whole belgian populatio) I hope it doesnt get worse.. In many areas both groups have fought, attacked the preventing 'police on horses' and other police personnel as well.. And have broken cars, house glasses etc
Tommorow is a big fight as they say... Skinhead from holland and some from uk going to come... ANd morocon gangs will come from france...... Moroccons will be helped allmost by all foreigners in belgium, since everybody hates skinheads (because they are in-human and racist).
Hope it doesnt turn like paris last year.... !
Anyways hows your life going???

I did not create article Kanwar Pal Singh Gill. It appears that it was created by User:Paapi. I have only added three sub-sections, i.e. "KPS Gill's Counter-Terrorism Techniques in Punjab", "Sexual Crime", "Indian Hockey Federation" and I have slightly changed its main introduction. I did not add the controversial "Quote", it was already there. I was too busy to completely re-structure this article. I thought that I will come back to read it further. I beleive that Sikhiwiki used to have an article on Kanwar Pal Singh Gill, which I could not find anymore. Also I beleive that user:Paapi has created this article in a biased way where KPS Gill was glorified, his un-ceramonial sacking from IHF was not highlighted and this controversial "quote" from KPS Gill's own book was added for no reason.--Singh6 02:34, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Jambo!! woo! lol im getting into it already.haah.
yeah bend it like beckham is a classic example..my dad always tells me that theres no use in trying to change the older generation..but we can change the way we behave towards eachother =) Yes i totally agree with you! my dad says the same! That the old ladies are not going to admit they have a problem! I've spoken back to a few aswell and they shove the old "dont talk back to your elders" lecture......well..as is taught in sikhi..age doesnt necessarily bring about wisdom..
Yeah the one thing in life i hate has to be corruption.
The first line in the ardaas is "pritham bhagauti simarke guru nanak lei dheyae.." and then it goes on to list all the gurus. "Bhagauti" in the femenine, this ardaas was written like this on purpose! To show that everything, derives from a female.
Admitedly i havent looked at suchajee and kuchajee in detail yet, but if its ok with you i'll adress your point on it after i've read it properly!
Argh! men =P haha joke =D
thanks for reading,
Thanks for the Welcome!
Hello Allenwalla, I do not happen to know that user, unfortunately! I came up with this username ten-twelve years ago as a child when I first began to use the internet. I have stuck with it since then for the sake of continuity.
I shall soon update my page with some more details about myself. You are correct in assuming that I am posting from North America - I live in the Greater Toronto Area. Perhaps I shall soon begin working on the pages you've suggested! Thanks, Ihaveacomputer 11:47, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

ok now its challenge for you....hehehe......Tell me who is there in picture and if this is not gurdev khush then how this picture is related to him?? and yes thanks for info about tomatoes. ya i like it eating tomatoes as salad. The tomatoes are grinded first then used in prepration of vegetable but sometimes mostly in villages tomatoes are not grinded and put directly in vegetables. Let me search on Hardskin Tomatoes...What category it is?
Want to share with you, My fathers friend's daughter married with hindu guy(Love Marriage), and my father's friend do not want to do that but he have agree due to some reason not wana disclouse. so when the baraat came to gurdwara and groom was entering in. The father of bride stops, he watches groom carefully and what he find the turban he have on his head was a TURBAN CAP not real turban. He took off his cap and said not to enter in gurdwara then girl's father send his men to purchase a turban. A new turban was purchased and then binded by father of girl(Turban always binds by maternal uncle of boy in sikh traditions). Then his father allow him to enter. Groom and there parents must feel this. But he said Sikh Rules are sikh rules you have to follow them. So turban keeps significance while anand karaj.Rabb Rakha Sat Shri Akaal. Thanks for the link.
and thanks for providing infor about hard skin tomatoes. ones with a hard skin are very disease resistant and tough skinned. My grandmom loves gardening she use to grow tomatoes, Ladyfingers, Brinjals.
In one link there is hornworm i had seen fear factor on AXN where the contestents were eating hornworms eeeeeeee. Actually i am away from gardening and agriculture etc. I just eats the ripe grapes. Here in Sabji Mandis we get Either Green Tomatoe or red tomatoe. and we have to select hard one. When i was Child, kid, i had seen how tomatoe grows bla bla but that all vanishes from my mind. My Paternal uncle and my father loves all this. Due to lack of space these all can not grown here. But Pudina, Brinjals, Roses are grown here. Roses used in Gulaab Sharbat. Pudina used when we drink cane juice or we make chatni of it. Brinjal is used for making vegetable and bharthas.
Yellow Tomatoes, yes when the red are not hard father use to pick yellow tomatoes, i had seen them they are hard.
Yes hindu turbans are all fake or here haryanvi hindues just wrap the cloth on head mostly old people. thats why father's friend get angry and he took away his fake turban. He is going to gurddwara for anand karaj, so he donot allowed to enter.Sat Shri akaal Bengali also wear different type of turban . It looks like Toorlaey wali turban. But its fake one. The orignal turban wore by punjabis and yes afghanis too. Sat Shri Akaal(Lucky 14:22, 30 May 2008 (UTC))
Well what u said is true.. But today is hundred % sure big fight... I saw many of them comming down near our area.... Many moroccons, turques etc have assembled there.... So its believed today will be revenge for last week... Cool editing to that Sikh Sharia article!! Keep it up! Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 16:13, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
What do you do?
You must have keen knowledge of sikhism what attracts you towards this website? Are you from interfaith or theologist? I mean tell me about you. (Lucky 13:31, 31 May 2008 (UTC))
Yes it is
Main Page: I think that was a mistake, and as you know hari singh's father is ill and he chaged first page so hurridly do not take care, that picture should be deleted, write the same to hari singh sir, or call him if you can please. That girl might be drinking apple juice and to call her doohagni especially on Main page. Not looks good. I will rite to hari singh sir and you also write or call. Do not treat that girl to be a britisher. That girl might be from chandigarh. What do you think these type of girls are only there sir come to india especially see the night life of delhi chandigarh, these type of indians shown in image you will see here in bulk.
Well, that picture was made not to show that guru nanak said that to female only or male but it is just made simply to show the features of both. In first image the lady shown is not a sikh lady she is shown as sohagan which pray before god, second lady shown is not any christian or british she is shown that she has lost in wordly pleasure. It is not an attempt to control women or something. the pic is just made to show difference between suhagan and duhangan not men and women. The same pic can be made for men too. But you know no difference is there.
But graphics is not properly used for pic we must use negatives instead of orignal graphics.
Captain Nemo: Actually he might be sikh or Not but you know the attire is properly of sikh especially Nihang sikhs use to wear these blue banas. Yes this character is positive, due to lack of knowledge about sikh code of conduct they did this well its ok no problem at all................But bollywood doing all this having knowledge about sikh code of conduct.
(Lucky 21:05, 1 June 2008 (UTC))
that would be wicked.....
maybe somebody can arrang that???
best is you should write a little letter and send it to sikhnet... i think they'll be able to do that sort of things... i mean to contact that person etc....
Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 21:19, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Sir Bollywood is know running out of there mind, Know they make movies with adult comedy and adult scenes. Here people not able to watch such films in family(Usually watch alone.....LOL). Here after so much gap a movie comes which you can see with family like Tarae Jameen par or Jodha akbar, but in most of movies they just put dirty jokes and scenes too. Know if you watch bollywood movies its difficult to see sarre and suit on heroins....LoL. Well you are right mostly dancers are foriegners.
In Chandigarh, you can also see night life girl boys use to go to discos, drugs, intoxicants, sharaab and shabab. Actually here boxers are there outside disc which not let single person to enter inside only couple are allowed so people use to give money to boxers and enters the discos.
Well the main thing is not that sikhs were attacked the main fact was why to attack on innocent people wether sikh or muslim. Those sikhs were killed due to lack of religious knowledge. But why to kill muslim too?. If they want to kill, kill those terrorists who did this. Why people are against religon?? They should against the human who did this. Religon wether christianity, islam, sikhi or hindu denounces terrorism.
I do not understand you wrote in previous post you were saying about a tree who tried to kill you?? Weak english. Sorry (Lucky 10:33, 2 June 2008 (UTC))
Thanks all around then!
Jambo Richard buana, Namna ganee?
Nice to link up in Swahili - It was a pleasure to change the picture - unfortunately, when doing the AOW for the mainpage, i go into auto mode and sometimes don't think too hard about the impact that the content may have. Thanks for pointing that out and caring enough to take action.
Father was better today but he had a few rough days. The blood pressure is fluctuating but we can't work out why he is still having lack of energy and concentration. He has an MIR of the brain tomorrow – hopefully that will help the docs diagnose the problem.
That’s a great idea – for someone to live as a Sikh for 30 days. I think that program is a great idea to learn about the different faiths in the world. I will put it to Sikhnet as they are US based while I am Uk based and may have better links to the program makers there. Thanks for the message, regards, Hari Singhtalk 00:12, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
no sir, everything as controled by police. everything is fine now. i didn't got the bit about the pictures? anyways how r u?

thx for the wishes!
oh cool to know about that sher khan!
the police here, usually is useless, but they feared that the same that happened in france last year (riots, because two youth were electrocutated in a cell while they were chased by police), so they took extra efforts and they succeeded Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 15:21, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

- Sorry For the late response.
- First of all i want to tell you that i am using an limited package of internet with 2 MBPS speed and i am going to cross the limit that why i just come for a while and log out. Next month i will change my speed plan and take the unlimited usage.
- O Baba Atal, Pakkian Pakaian ghal: Theis is an idiom used by ancestors. It is nothing with the granth or whatever. yes if this is present in any historical book i dont know. But normally our ancestors say "Baba Atal Pakiyan Pakaiyan Ghal".
Ghal - Like to call, If i am calling you it means Main Tuhanu Ghalleya. So Ghall means to call or to send.
Pakiyan means - Cooked. We use to say Dal has been cooked or Dal pak gayi hai. Pakiyan is also used in that cases like ripe fruit or Pakka mango or Pakka Apple i.e Ripe but here we take the food which we cooked pakki dal.
It seems this is quote of lazy people, who are doing ardas before Baba Atal to send the already cooked food. Well i am going today to a village from there i will bring an exact information and reply your furthur queries too. Sorry for late response.(Lucky 03:56, 9 June 2008 (UTC))
- Yes Mr Allenwala, this is quote of lazy people who have money and land of there ancestors and do not want to work and eat at house they say Baba atal pakiyan pakayian ghal.If we take one more notion then Baba atal fulfil the wishes of his followers so this idiom can also be used by these kind of people baba atal pakiyan pakaiyan ghal. Some Says baba atal either be used for Baba Atal(Hargobind Guru's Son) or for a an old man.(Lucky)

Baba Nihal Singh is present Jathedar Of Tarna Dal. That is indeed a beautiful picture. See another pic of him:
I know to make a bukk or an angeli but hands folded leaves me in confusion. Do not understand what do you mean?(Lucky 12:08, 10 June 2008 (UTC))
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kisIfHx2IFQ Check out the video. Folding Hands
guru granth sahib chadd khuh pichey bhajdey - As Some uneducated people, use to iew for darshan of Well first as due to historical importance and start putting money(Coins) in the well. So they covered it you can see the image and they preach that Guru Granth sahib is your main guru you have to Matha tek him first, but you do not know villagers, use to jump and matha tek to historical things first. Even in some gurdwara these people use to matha tek the sant of gurdwara first not the guru sahib. Ok i will add. (Lucky 13:01, 10 June 2008 (UTC))
Sher Shikar and Baba Atal
SSA Richard ji
I agree that making sure that the reader can clearly understand the incident is of paramount importance. I feel that the fact that the Guru intercepts the lion is all that really matters. Further dramatisation is of no material benefit. Please amend in the best manner that fits with this fact.
Baba Atal: 4 is a magical number in this respect - When a Sikh gets married, he or she has to go around the Guru Granth Sahib 4 times. So, may be this was the symbolic marriage with Kal!
Folded hands: Again, this is probably a cultural thing and a symbol of humility and of greeting or welcome. See article on Ardas where Bhai sahib stands with "folded hand" in front of the Guru. It can be a sign of submission as well!
Nice pics ji!
well those look cool
i'll add some info to the khalistan house belgium
my tests are going well

I am afraid it's my letter sent to British newspapers as comments. I will add some links where comments about this subject can be added. Also I will try and add email addresses where we can send this type of letter.
I have changed "enemies of the west" it to "- who were common enemies of freedom, democracy and free religious expression"
Bhai sahib richard ji, SSA
The statement does not seem to be correct. please check some of the new links that I have just added to the article here. I think that 29 VCs were awarded to India of which many were Sikhs. Check out the links - I hope you will agree that the numbers is more than 2. regards, das, Hari Singhtalk 08:09, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, yes, I did misunderstand you. I will check this and come back to you, Hari Singhtalk 18:48, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
You can do as you wish sir ji.
How r u for the rest?
Can you please checkup this page, Mumbai Sikh-Dera Sacha Sauda clash, and melt all these 4 news paper reports into one article? I ain't good at doing it, so could you please do it?
22:08, 20 June 2008 (UTC)~
I didnt saw ur comments on Quotes of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. I just saw it today.
""i did not know that Nirankar-is (Nirankar being Formless One) was also the Nark dharis. thanks for clearing that up / what does Nark mean as dharis seems to mean those who hold or take up.""
Nark means hell. Its the opposite of swarag (heaven). altough in sikhi there is no hell nor heaven... Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 08:12, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Bhai sahib ji, SSA
Sorry it has taken a few days to respond to your message. Unfortunately the topic that you discussed within the message is one where my views differ from those displayed by many other Sikhs and I and not very sure how I should express them.
To me, being a Sikh, one has to tread a path of peace and reconciliation. Of course, we must defend our rights and the rights of others but not by doing wrong ourselves. We must follow the lead set by our Gurus and the Sikhs of those times. To attack innocent people or engage in violence over territory, land, water, wealth, etc is not something that was done by our Gurus. Hence, we need to be very careful in following this path. For that reason, I do not participate in this sphere and do not know of the people involved in these activities. So the name Rajinder Singh, has no meaning although he appears to be from the UK. Sorry, I cannot be of any help on this matter.
On the other hand, it is good to know that the "Kara crisis" has brought some new knowledge about Sikhi, awareness of Monty, cricket and the Monty's fans. What a spectrum of human experiences! - all from the humble kara.
Sorry that we will not see you daily on the recent changes list
SSA Richard sahib,
Many thanks for your message and emails. I will respond in more detail in due course. I am sorry that we will not have the pleasure of your presence on the recent changes list on a daily basis. I appreciate your hard work, valuable suggestions and deep engagement with Sikhi. I hope I or anyone else has not upset you in anyway. If one of us has, I apologise and pray that you forgive our trespass.
I am sorry to learn that your health is not very good and I hope that the Almighty will assist you and that you will get better soon. May Waheguru help you in every way possible. Please keep in touch. SikhiWiki is a better site due to the wonderful contribution that you have made. I am indebted to you for the excellent effort that you have made.
Please do not let the politics of a few have any lasting impression on you. The only important message is the Gurus'. I wish you every success and satisfaction in the future. Dear friend, always keep the Lord near your heart and let Him guide and love you. Raab Rakha, regards, Hari Singhtalk 21:50, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Sat Shri Akaal
How are you sir, actually my net was not working since 10 days and yesterday it started working suddenly.
Yes sir i wrote text to all those images,
You wrote a quote at idol worship page :
(stop destroying Sikhism is giving them too much power. Sikhi can only be destroyed by Sikhs, not by the foolish attemps by the Hinduva crowd who seek to damage it.)
Sir see the image carefully again. You will get your answer. Moreover the page is copied from another article written under sikhiwiki not from external sources.
Hor sunaao, Kee kardey ajj kal. Howz life family.
Sat shri akaal again
Hahahaa ya you are rite in gurdwara Toka sahib no camels are there and that i copied from a website but info is wrong they were horses my granddad was 10 years president of the same gurdwara.
Actuaaly see the laughing streak: Horses turn to camels and Gujjars turn to Rangarhs hahahahahaha, i will correct it actually whole article is under construction. Many more things to be deleted and many to be added.
About that image you can see the person Chamanjeet SIngh ios a sikh accepting the gift from hindu the potrait which is designed wrongly instead of gurus or gurbani Ram, vishnu is there and this hurts a lot when a sikh is accepting thse types of gifts without criticising them. So as you say sikh can destroy sikhism. (Lucky 14:10, 28 June 2008 (UTC))
sadda parivaar bilkul theek hai
tussi sunao? tuhada parivaar kiven aa?
i had great tests with an average of 79% with some great points like 100% for social studies, 94% for electricity, 93% for geography, 88% for informatics, 83% for english, 82% for history, 81% for french and biology and many others.. Had only 2 bad tests: 51%for latin and 56% for physics....
i changed the article of guru nanak in africa sir, it was 1 article which i made into 3 articles...
Sunnybondsinghjalwehra 13:52, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Sat Shri Akaal
Mere gharaley kaim aan tusan sunao thodey sabh kaint aa??
Sir Ram Rahim Acquire the attire of guru jee, thats all nothing more. Like bhaniyara wala tried to made a seprate granth copying guru granth sahib and also sit on horse and show himself as guru gobind singh.
Its ok Ram Rahim wore the guru attire but he did the same like while making Amrit. he made Jaame Insaa. So copying the same. If you check he bind the same turban as guru gobind singh bind but generally see his turban style and he wore kalgi also see the chola he wearing whole attire. Yes its rite he is without any bow teer or sword the attire was same and trying to do same practice
These sects and cults are copying the basic religons i.e Chritianity, islam, Sikhi, Hindu and Buddhism and making different path. Like guru je said a person who got some spiritual knowledge started calling him guru same these did. AND I AM AGAINST DERAS sorry.
(Lucky 11:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC))
Hi Allenwala, nice job on Guru Har Gobind. But 'miri' 'piri' was not born out of a mistake or chance. Baba Buddha was not a novice. Guru Arjan dev had kept bodyguards who wore swords. Baba Buddha never put the sword on wrong side, everyday mughals wore swords and the right side could be easily observed by anybody.
Also your talk page is toooo long, pls archive it!Koolkat 16:06, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
My point of view, for what its worth!
Dear bhai sahib
It is amazing that things have always gone from one culture to another and then back again but it is always the intermediate cultures that appear to get the recognition. India has never been a culture to exert itself. As an example - It is a fact that Guru Nanak was the first record person to push the idea of equality of women. However, no one apart from Sikhs know or recognise this fact. I tried to put this on Wikipedia but there was such resistance to this fact that in the end I gave up.
This is true of many things. The ancient indigenous people of India were more interested in spirituality and peace than in making a name for themselves. The same is true to a certain extent.
Khalsa talk page: Back in January, I had to remove things from the khalsa page added by user:Mutia - I don't like deleting stuff and so I put it on the discussion page. So, I am sorry it is not my contribution but one by our friend Ms Mutia. I would not worry too much about talk pages as they are there for talking and I am afraid at time we all talk ru***ish, including me! Don't spend time looking at talk pages to correct as they are there for self expression. So, I would leave them and work on the actual articles. The talk pages are like listening to a conversation in a bar or pub - not real worth taking too seriously!
Dad is slightly better now - for the last 4 days, I have noticed a slight improvement. I am still staying over night with dad & mum. He appears to have a trapped nerve in the back and so walking is a big problem. With Lord grace, he appears to be getting 0.5% better each day - touch wood!. For that, I thank the wonderful Lord because otherwise life would be a little bit miserable.
It is strange that the Sikh guy said a "religious symbol" - why not say kirpan! The truth will come out soon enough. In the UK you are allowed to wear the kirpan into Courts. I have personal experience and there is no hindrance. At the passport office in Victoria, London, I was asked to deposit the kirpan in a plastic bag to be collected on exit - which was fine.
A plane is not a public place and so Sikhs are expected to put the kirpan in their cabin luggage for the journey - which is fine. In India, I believe, Sikhs can carry the kirpan on internal flights.
Thanx for ur comments
