Ugardanti(PA: ਉਗ੝ਰਦੰਤੀ) is a composition which is present only in Dasam Granth Bir Patna Sahib. There are 6 Chandds of this bani.

History

  • In Bansavalinama, written in 1769 CE, author, Kesar Singh Chibbar, explains and quotes a few passages from the rare composition Ugardanti, which was written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. [1]
  • Acc. to Nihung Tradition, This bani was given by Guru Gobind Singh to weak person, so that they able to fight war against tyranny.

Mangal

Manglacharan is starting of Bani. The Bani started with:

ੴ ਵਾਹਿਗ੝ਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ ॥
ੴ वाहिगढ़रू जी की फतहि ॥
The Lord is one and the Victory is of the Lord.


ਸ੝ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
सढ़री भगउती जी सहाइ ॥
May the Bhagauti = Gurumatt Helps
