Mata Khivi: Has the distinction of being the only Gurus' wife to be mentioned by name in the Guru Granth Sahib. She is described as a "good person", "an affectionate mother" and as "one who provides shelter and protection to others." She was the wife of the second Sikh Guru, Guru Angad Dev ji and was responsible for the complete organisation of the Langar - the great Sikh institution.
