This week the Sikhs celebrate the birth of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of their religion, Sikhism. The contribution of the Guru to our understanding of life and its meaning is immense. Why not learn more about Guru ji contributions to Sikhi and how this has benefited humanity. Guru Nanak was born on April 15, 1469 but this year, the Sikhs chose November 15 to celebrate this momentous day.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji came into this world at a time of doom and gloom. Men’s ideas and aspirations were low. Wealth and Maya (illusion) fascinated the world and led everyone astray. Good acts no longer commended themselves to men. They burned with pride and had no respected for others. The high and the low forgot their mutual duties. Monarchs were unjust and the nobles were butchers who held knives to men’s throats. Read more .....
