"But Guru ji was far from the reach of any of them. He was in a divine trance in which he was sitting in God's own presence. It is at this time that Waheguru(The God) gave Guru Nanak Dev Ji the MOOL MANTRA (EK-OANKAR SATNAM KARTA-PURAKH NIRBHOW NIR-VAIR AKAL-MURAAT AAJUNI-SAI-BHANNG GUR-PARSAD JAP) the start of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. And GOD told Guru Nanak Dev Ji to give this mantra to people so that they could benefit from it. The actual MOOL MANTRA is EK-OANKAR SATNAM KARTA-PURAKH NIRBHOW NIR-VAIR AKAL-MURAAT AAJUNI-SAI-BHANNG GUR-PARSAD JAP AAD-SACH JUGADH-SACH HAI-BHI-SACH NANAK-HOSI-BHI-SACH. This is the MOOL MANTRA that we have today and it it said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji added the rest to the actual MOOL MANTRA which was giving little bit more description and respect to GOD."

I've taken the above section out of the main article because it doesn't flow with the rest of the article and it is also contrary to the original article. Discussion of the Mool Mantar is best left for the Mool Mantar article discussion page.

The above user has also changed the article to suggest that Guru Nanak Dev ji underwent enlightenment within the water - though the particular details don't matter, and are probably more symbolic than anything else, looking through Sikh history, the writers suggest that Guru Nanak Dev ji was attracted by a light which led him to the nearby forest, and that the people, on not being able to find him, assumed he had drowned. I've therefore reverted the article to the original. --Navroop Singh 02:42, 15 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
