Checking on other - Attacks on Harmandar Saheb- i was surprised to find that this page was now first on google.

a point of confusion--in the following lines

This moment is presumably intended to recreate the daily routine followed during the time of the Gurus: the arrival of the SGGS at the Harimandir Sahib from the Akal Takhat, the praises sung in his honour by court poets and others, and his first discourse of the day in the shrine.

Should this not be the arrival of the Human Guru and his first discourse? As i thought that the SGGS was only completed by Guru Gobind Singh and it was only by his order that the SGGS is now the earthly Guru for the Sikhs. Allenwalla 21:43, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Sad to Hear

I had noticed that the page the Golden temple had dissappeared recently, i was puzzeled?

today i read here that the SPgs has prohibited the use of the phrase the Golden temple to refer to the Harmandar Sahib.

As gold has always been associated with God, in every religion, because as men imagine God to be Akal or never changing and gold is the only metal which can lie at the bottom of the ocean and never change be reclaimed from other metals by smelting, ect. Okay maybe mercury and a few others as well can be too, but you get the Idea. Here is a world wide 'trademark' equal it its fame as the Taj Mahal, if you will and in every dictionary in the world. If they had their way no one would have ever heard of the Place. I can only imagine sikh cab drivers going -Golden Temple what is that? You must use the correct word or I can't help you. I don't know this word the Spgs has forbidden me to use it.

Perhaps the Hindus with their nearly matching mandir will lay claim to the name and non-sikhs unaware of the 'correct' word will end up somewhere other than they intended. excuse me while i go stick my head in a hole, so the world will stop changing in ways I don't like.
