ਮਰੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜੀਵੈ ॥ I shall not die; I shall live forever and ever.
ਅਮਰ ਭਇਆ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਥੀਵੈ ॥ I have become immortal; I am eternal and imperishable.
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਵੈ ਗਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਭਰਮੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥ I do not come, and I do not go. The Gur(Spiritual Wisdom) has driven out my doubts. ||14|| _________________________
ਕਬਹੂ ਹੋਇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਕਰੇ ਬਖਯਯਾਨ ॥ Sometimes, as scholars, they deliver lectures. ਕਬਹੂ ਮੋਨਿਧਾਰੀ ਲਾਵੈ ਧਿਆਨ ॥ Sometimes, they hold to silence in deep meditation. ਕਬਹੂ ਤਟ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥ Sometimes, they take cleansing baths at places of pilgrimage. ਕਬਹੂ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਮਖਿ ਗਿਆਨ ॥ Sometimes, as Siddhas or seekers, they impart spiritual wisdom. ਕਬਹੂ ਕੀਟ ਹਸਤਿ ਪਤੰਗ ਹੋਇ ਜੀਆ ॥ Sometimes, they becomes worms, elephants, or moths. ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਰਮੈ ਭਰਮੀਆ ॥ They may wander and roam through countless incarnations. _________________________ ਅਨਦਿਨ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਾ ਬਿਨ ਨਾਵੈ ਦਖ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ Night and day, it wanders around endlessly, deluded by doubt; without the Name, it suffers in pain. ||2|| __________________________ ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਤਤ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ भरमे भूला ततढ़ न जाणै ॥ Bẖarme bẖūlĝ ṯaṯ na jĝṇai. but deluded by doubt, they do not understand the essence of reality. ___________________________
ਅਨਜਾਨਤ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਰਚੈ ॥ Through ignorance, people are engrossed in corruption. ਜੇ ਜਾਨਤ ਆਪਨ ਆਪ ਬਚੈ ॥ If they knew better, they would save themselves. ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ Deluded by doubt, they wander around in the ten directions. ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਚਾਰਿ ਕੰਟ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ॥ In an instant, their minds go around the four corners of the world and come back again. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸ ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਦੇਇ ॥ Those whom the Lord mercifully blesses with His devotional worship -

ਭੂਲਾ ਮਨ ਸਮਝੈ ਗਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਝ ॥ The foolish mind is instructed in the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and meditates forever on the Lord, Har, Har. ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤ ਲਾਝ ॥੧॥ O Nanak, one who is blessed with the Mercy of my Beloved, focuses his consciousness on the Lord's Feet. ||1||

ਨਾਮ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਧਾ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ नामढ़ न पाइआ तेरा अंधा भरमि भूला मनढ़ मेरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Nĝm na pĝ▫i▫ĝ ṯerĝ anḝẖĝ bẖaram bẖūlĝ man merĝ. ||1|| rahĝ▫o. I have not found Your Name; my mind is blind and deluded by doubt. ||1||Pause||
