Bhai Sahib, Lucky ji, what does the sentence - Many people view that person could have Vashna of Vegetable foods too. - mean?

What is a - Vashna of Vegetable foods?

I can only find many folks named Vashna and a printing company - Vashna Publications.

This has lead to my wife playing a treatise on eating and allergies by (http://doctorsmessage.com/allergy/#viddlervideo-7183-7d878310), if you can get by their ads the topics are interesting. by a teacher at Berkley - formerly Cambridge.

  • Means many people take even vegetable food for taste not for diet, same thing happenes in all type of food, some have meat as part of diet some does not have, thats why gurbani is against this discussion, that meat eating have no impact with our spirit.

Gurbani Forbids Discussion on Meat Eating

maas maas kar muurakh jhagdy.....

  • Why this and other articles on Sikhiwiki ???

From Page 1289 of Guru Granth Sahib)

Mĝs mĝs kar mūrakẖ jẖagṛe gi▫ĝn ḝẖi▫ĝn nahī jĝṇai.
The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom.

No, Gurbani does not forbid discussion; Here Gurbani addresses the concept of argument (not discussion) about this issue without the person having any 'gian' ([spiritual] wisdom) or 'dhian' (deeper understanding, meditation, real focus). The line needs to be considered as a whole. Guru ji does not say don't discuss - as the word used is not ਵੀਚਾਰ s  "veechar" but "jhagre" - ਝਗੜੇ s  which in Punjabi simply means "to quarrel".

So, let's try and understand the deeper meaning of each line of Gurbani. I hope you will agree that Guru sahib is saying that:

"Mad people quarrel over the issue of fresh but they have no wisdom or spiritual understanding."

This is my translation - your may be a little different but we cannot change the meaning completely. Kind regards, Hari Singhtalk 23:15, 25 March 2012 (CDT)

Name of Article

The Name of Article COMMON VIEWS on MEAT EATING is very wrong name because Common views are:
IF A PERSON EATING MEAT WILL DEFINITELY GO TO Some HELL.

  • Common Reaction of indian sikhs and other indian are:

MEat..... oh Yeackkk yeackkk, my plant food reached upto my neck hearing this

  • Common views are:

These Chicken and Bakra will eat you one day :P

  • Common Views from meat eaters, who are also religious are:

Aseen kithe swarag jaanaa, aseen taan khaney ne bakrey!!!

  • Common reaction is not to sit with meat eater and treat him, Maleech, the lower

THIS IS CONTRA ARTICLE, and could not be categorize in common views. Gurbani on Meat Eating is also to be redone because all the meanings which are given there are just out of context.

A Word comes kill and throw in Meat eating articles, a word come Maans and thrown in meat eating articles, a word come Murdaar and thrown in meat eating articles.

Hari Singh ji and others, PLEASE SUGGEST BETTER NAME FOR this article. (HarpreetSingh 01:05, 26 March 2012 (CDT))

About Meat Issue and Citations

It is obvious that citations would be required, for those points and it would be best if those are provided, if same rule should be apply to every article, not only the article which we are interested then accuracy will go to new level. I appreciate your step. Some of citations are in preachings of Sant Singh Maskeen, but it is in audible form, Well let's come to point.

As valid historical sources are quoted(named) in those lines, from where we(Sikhs) take out many(most or All) of events related to Sikh history. What more information Administrator will like to add there, other than name of sources?

Proper Lines and Chapters? or required proper texts?

Upto what time administrators will keep those lines there in article? as it gives feeling that administrators are eager to remove it? and it take time to recollect the sources for this purpose.

Thank You
