| ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨ ਗਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰ ਬਿਨਾਸ ॥

| Gi▫ĝn anjan gur ḝī▫ĝ agi▫ĝn anḝẖer binĝs.
|
| The Guru has given the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom, and dispelled the darkness of ignorance.
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥੧॥

| Har kirpĝ ṯe sanṯ bẖeti▫ĝ Nĝnak man pargĝs. ((1))
|
| By the Lord's Grace, I have met the Saint; O Nanak, my mind is enlightened. ((1))

| ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਰਭ ਡੀਠਾ ॥
|
| Saṯsang anṯar parabẖ dīṯẖĝ.
|
| In the Society of the Saints, I see God deep within my being.
|
| ਨਾਮ ਪਰਭੂ ਕਾ ਲਾਗਾ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
|
| Nĝm parabẖū kĝ lĝgĝ mīṯẖĝ.
|
| God's Name is sweet to me.
|
| ਸਗਲ ਸਮਿਗਰੀ ਝਕਸ ਘਟ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
|
| Sagal samagrī ekas gẖat mĝhi.
|
| All things are contained in the Heart of the One,
|
| ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਨਾਨਾ ਦਰਿਸਟਾਹਿ ॥
|
| Anik rang nĝnĝ ḝaristĝhi.
|
| although they appear in so many various colors.
|
| ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਅੰਮਰਿਤ ਪਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਮ ॥
|
| Na▫o niḝẖ amriṯ parabẖ kĝ nĝm.
|
| The nine treasures are in the Ambrosial Name of God.
|
| ਦੇਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਇਸ ਕਾ ਬਿਸਰਾਮ ॥
|
| Ḏehī mėh is kĝ bisrĝm.
|
| Within the human body is its place of rest.
|
| ਸੰਨ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਅਨਹਤ ਤਹ ਨਾਦ ॥
|
| Sunn samĝḝẖ anhaṯ ṯah nĝḝ.
|
| The Deepest Samaadhi, and the unstruck sound current of the Naad are there.
|
| ਕਹਨ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਅਚਰਜ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥
|
| Kahan na jĝ▫ī acẖraj bismĝḝ.
|
| The wonder and marvel of it cannot be described.
|
| ਤਿਨਿ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਖਾਝ ॥
|
| Ŧin ḝekẖi▫ĝ jis ĝp ḝikẖĝ▫e.
|
| He alone sees it, unto whom God Himself reveals it.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸ ਜਨ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਝ ॥੧॥
|
| Nĝnak ṯis jan sojẖī pĝ▫e. ((1))
|
| O Nanak, that humble being understands. ((1))
|
| ਸੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
|
| So anṯar so bĝhar ananṯ.
|
| The Infinite Lord is inside, and outside as well.
|
| ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਬਿਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥
|
| Gẖat gẖat bi▫ĝp rahi▫ĝ bẖagvanṯ.
|
| Deep within each and every heart, the Lord God is pervading.
|
| ਧਰਨਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਆਕਾਸ ਪਇਆਲ ॥
|
| Ḏẖaran mĝhi ĝkĝs pa▫i▫ĝl.
|
| In the earth, in the Akaashic ethers, and in the nether regions of the underworld -
|
| ਸਰਬ ਲੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
|
| Sarab lok pūran parṯipĝl.
|
| in all worlds, He is the Perfect Cherisher.
|
| ਬਨਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਰਬਤਿ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਬਰਹਮ ॥
|
| Ban ṯin parbaṯ hai pĝrbarahm.
|
| In the forests, fields and mountains, He is the Supreme Lord God.
|
| ਜੈਸੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਤੈਸਾ ਕਰਮ ॥
|
| Jaisī ĝgi▫ĝ ṯaisĝ karam.
|
| As He orders, so do His creatures act.
|
| ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
|
| Pa▫uṇ pĝṇī baisanṯar mĝhi.
|
| He permeates the winds and the waters.
|
| ਚਾਰਿ ਕੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸੇ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
|
| Cẖĝr kunt ḝah ḝise samĝhi.
|
| He is pervading in the four corners and in the ten directions.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਠਾਉ ॥
|
| Ŧis ṯe bẖinn nahī ko ṯẖĝ▫o.
|
| Without Him, there is no place at all.
|
| ਗਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਖ ਪਾਉ ॥੨॥
|
| Gur parsĝḝ Nĝnak sukẖ pĝ▫o. ((2))
|
| By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, peace is obtained. ((2))
|
| ਬੇਦ ਪਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮਰਿਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਦੇਖ ॥
|
| Beḝ purĝn simriṯ mėh ḝekẖ.
|
| See Him in the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees.
|
| ਸਸੀਅਰ ਸੂਰ ਨਖਯਯਤਰ ਮਹਿ ਝਕ ॥
|
| Sasī▫ar sūr nakẖ▫yaṯar mėh ek.
|
| In the moon, the sun and the stars, He is the One.
|
| ਬਾਣੀ ਪਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਬੋਲੈ ॥
|
| Baṇī parabẖ kī sabẖ ko bolai.
|
| The Bani of God's Word is spoken by everyone.
|
| ਆਪਿ ਅਡੋਲ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਡੋਲੈ ॥
|
| Āp adol na kabhū dolai.
|
| He Himself is unwavering - He never wavers.
|
| ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਖੇਲੈ ਖੇਲ ॥
|
| Sarab kalĝ kar kẖelai kẖel.
|
| With absolute power, He plays His play.
|
| ਮੋਲਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਝ ਗਣਹ ਅਮੋਲ ॥
|
| Mol na pĝ▫ī▫ai guṇah amol.
|
| His value cannot be estimated; His virtues are invaluable.
|
| ਸਰਬ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ॥
|
| Sarab joṯ mėh jĝ kī joṯ.
|
| In all light, is His Light.
|
| ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਆਮੀ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ॥
|
| Ḏẖĝr rahi▫o su▫ĝmī oṯ poṯ.
|
| The Lord and Master supports the weave of the fabric of the universe.
|
| ਗਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਰਮ ਕਾ ਨਾਸ ॥
|
| Gur parsĝḝ bẖaram kĝ nĝs.
|
| By Guru's Grace, doubt is dispelled.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਝਹ ਬਿਸਾਸ ॥੩॥
|
| Nĝnak ṯin mėh ehu bisĝs. ((3))
|
| O Nanak, this faith is firmly implanted within. ((3))
|
| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਪੇਖਨ ਸਭ ਬਰਹਮ ॥
|
| Sanṯ janĝ kĝ pekẖan sabẖ barahm.
|
| In the eye of the Saint, everything is God.
|
| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਮ ॥
|
| Sanṯ janĝ kai hirḝai sabẖ ḝẖaram.
|
| In the heart of the Saint, everything is Dharma.
|
| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸਨਹਿ ਸਭ ਬਚਨ ॥
|
| Sanṯ janĝ sunėh subẖ bacẖan.
|
| The Saint hears words of goodness.
|
| ਸਰਬ ਬਿਆਪੀ ਰਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਚਨ ॥
|
| Sarab bi▫ĝpī rĝm sang racẖan.
|
| He is absorbed in the All-pervading Lord.
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਰਹਤ ॥
|
| Jin jĝṯĝ ṯis kī ih rahaṯ.
|
| This is the way of life of one who knows God.
|
| ਸਤਿ ਬਚਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭਿ ਕਹਤ ॥
|
| Saṯ bacẖan sĝḝẖū sabẖ kahaṯ.
|
| True are all the words spoken by the Holy.
|
| ਜੋ ਜੋ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ਸਖ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
|
| Jo jo ho▫e so▫ī sukẖ mĝnai.
|
| Whatever happens, he peacefully accepts.
|
| ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਪਰਭ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
|
| Karan karĝvanhĝr parabẖ jĝnai.
|
| He knows God as the Doer, the Cause of causes.
|
| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਸੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭੀ ਓਹੀ ॥
|
| Anṯar base bĝhar bẖī ohī.
|
| He dwells inside, and outside as well.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਭ ਮੋਹੀ ॥੪॥
|
| Nĝnak ḝarsan ḝekẖ sabẖ mohī. ((4))
|
| O Nanak, beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all are fascinated. ((4))
|
| ਆਪਿ ਸਤਿ ਕੀਆ ਸਭ ਸਤਿ ॥
|
| Āp saṯ kī▫ĝ sabẖ saṯ.
|
| He Himself is True, and all that He has made is True.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਪਰਭ ਤੇ ਸਗਲੀ ਉਤਪਤਿ ॥
|
| Ŧis parabẖ ṯe saglī uṯpaṯ.
|
| The entire creation came from God.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥
|
| Ŧis bẖĝvai ṯĝ kare bisthĝr.
|
| As it pleases Him, He creates the expanse.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਝਕੰਕਾਰ ॥
|
| Ŧis bẖĝvai ṯĝ ekankĝr.
|
| As it pleases Him, He becomes the One and Only again.
|
| ਅਨਿਕ ਕਲਾ ਲਖੀ ਨਹ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Anik kalĝ lakẖī nah jĝ▫e.
|
| His powers are so numerous, they cannot be known.
|
| ਜਿਸ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸ ਲਝ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
|
| Jis bẖĝvai ṯis la▫e milĝ▫e.
|
| As it pleases Him, He merges us into Himself again.
|
| ਕਵਨ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਵਨ ਕਹੀਝ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
|
| Kavan nikat kavan kahī▫ai ḝūr.
|
| Who is near, and who is far away?
|
| ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
|
| Āpe ĝp ĝp bẖarpūr.
|
| He Himself is Himself pervading everywhere.
|
| ਅੰਤਰਗਤਿ ਜਿਸ ਆਪਿ ਜਨਾਝ ॥
|
| Anṯargaṯ jis ĝp janĝ▫e.
|
| One whom God causes to know that He is within the heart -
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸ ਜਨ ਆਪਿ ਬਝਾਝ ॥੫॥
|
| Nĝnak ṯis jan ĝp bujẖĝ▫e. ((5))
|
| O Nanak, He causes that person to understand Him. ((5))
|
| ਸਰਬ ਭੂਤ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ॥
|
| Sarab bẖūṯ ĝp varṯĝrĝ.
|
| In all forms, He Himself is pervading.
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨੈਨ ਆਪਿ ਪੇਖਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
|
| Sarab nain ĝp pekẖanhĝrĝ.
|
| Through all eyes, He Himself is watching.
|
| ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਤਨਾ ॥
|
| Sagal samagrī jĝ kĝ ṯanĝ.
|
| All the creation is His Body.
|
| ਆਪਨ ਜਸ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਨਾ ॥
|
| Āpan jas ĝp hī sunĝ.
|
| He Himself listens to His Own Praise.
|
| ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨ ਇਕ ਖੇਲ ਬਨਾਇਆ ॥
|
| Āvan jĝn ik kẖel banĝ▫i▫ĝ.
|
| The One has created the drama of coming and going.
|
| ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
|
| Āgi▫ĝkĝrī kīnī mĝ▫i▫ĝ.
|
| He made Maya subservient to His Will.
|
| ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧਿ ਅਲਿਪਤੋ ਰਹੈ ॥
|
| Sabẖ kai maḝẖ alipaṯo rahai.
|
| In the midst of all, He remains unattached.
|
| ਜੋ ਕਿਛ ਕਹਣਾ ਸ ਆਪੇ ਕਹੈ ॥
|
| Jo kicẖẖ kahṇĝ so ĝpe kahai.
|
| Whatever is said, He Himself says.
|
| ਆਗਿਆ ਆਵੈ ਆਗਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Āgi▫ĝ ĝvai ĝgi▫ĝ jĝ▫e.
|
| By His Will we come, and by His Will we go.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਝ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੬॥
|
| Nĝnak jĝ bẖĝvai ṯĝ la▫e samĝ▫e. ((6))
|
| O Nanak, when it pleases Him, then He absorbs us into Himself. ((6))
|
| ਇਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਸ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਰਾ ॥
|
| Is ṯe ho▫e so nĝhī burĝ.
|
| If it comes from Him, it cannot be bad.
|
| ਓਰੈ ਕਹਹ ਕਿਨੈ ਕਛ ਕਰਾ ॥
|
| Orai kahhu kinai kacẖẖ karĝ.
|
| Other than Him, who can do anything?
|
| ਆਪਿ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਤੂਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਕੀ ॥
|
| Āp bẖalĝ karṯūṯ aṯ nīkī.
|
| He Himself is good; His actions are the very best.
|
| ਆਪੇ ਜਾਨੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥
|
| Āpe jĝnai apne jī kī.
|
| He Himself knows His Own Being.
|
| ਆਪਿ ਸਾਚ ਧਾਰੀ ਸਭ ਸਾਚ ॥
|
| Āp sĝcẖ ḝẖĝrī sabẖ sĝcẖ.
|
| He Himself is True, and all that He has established is True.
|
| ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਆਪਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚ ॥
|
| Oṯ poṯ ĝpan sang rĝcẖ.
|
| Through and through, He is blended with His creation.
|
| ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Ŧĝ kī gaṯ miṯ kahī na jĝ▫e.
|
| His state and extent cannot be described.
|
| ਦੂਸਰ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
|
| Ḏūsar ho▫e ṯa sojẖī pĝ▫e.
|
| If there were another like Him, then only he could understand Him.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਭ ਪਰਵਾਨ ॥
|
| Ŧis kĝ kī▫ĝ sabẖ parvĝn.
|
| His actions are all approved and accepted.
|
| ਗਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਜਾਨ ॥੭॥
|
| Gur parsĝḝ Nĝnak ih jĝn. ((7))
|
| By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, this is known. ((7))
|
| ਜੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਤਿਸ ਸਦਾ ਸਖ ਹੋਇ ॥
|
| Jo jĝnai ṯis saḝĝ sukẖ ho▫e.
|
| One who knows Him, obtains everlasting peace.
|
| ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲਝ ਪਰਭ ਸੋਇ ॥
|
| Āp milĝ▫e la▫e parabẖ so▫e.
|
| God blends that one into Himself.
|
| ਓਹ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਕਲਵੰਤ ਪਤਿਵੰਤ ॥
|
| Oh ḝẖanvanṯ kulvanṯ paṯivanṯ.
|
| He is wealth and prosperous, and of noble birth.
|
| ਜੀਵਨ ਮਕਤਿ ਜਿਸ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥
|
| Jīvan mukaṯ jis riḝai bẖagvanṯ.
|
| He is Jivan Mukta - liberated while yet alive; the Lord God abides in his heart.
|
| ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਜਨ ਆਇਆ ॥
|
| Ḏẖan ḝẖan ḝẖan jan ĝ▫i▫ĝ.
|
| Blessed, blessed, blessed is the coming of that humble being;
|
| ਜਿਸ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਭ ਜਗਤ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥
|
| Jis parsĝḝ sabẖ jagaṯ ṯarĝ▫i▫ĝ.
|
| by his grace, the whole world is saved.
|
| ਜਨ ਆਵਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਸਆਉ ॥
|
| Jan ĝvan kĝ ihai su▫ĝ▫o.
|
| This is his purpose in life;
|
| ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
|
| Jan kai sang cẖiṯ ĝvai nĝ▫o.
|
| in the Company of this humble servant, the Lord's Name comes to mind.
|
| ਆਪਿ ਮਕਤ ਮਕਤ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
|
| Āp mukaṯ mukaṯ karai sansĝr.
|
| He Himself is liberated, and He liberates the universe.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥੮॥੨੩॥
|
| Nĝnak ṯis jan ka▫o saḝĝ namaskĝr. ((8)(23))
|
| O Nanak, to that humble servant, I bow in reverence forever. ((8)(23))
