| ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਕੇ ਠਾਕਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਵਰਤਣਹਾਰ ॥

| Jī▫a janṯ ke ṯẖĝkurĝ ĝpe varṯanhĝr.
|
| O Lord and Master of all beings and creatures, You Yourself are prevailing everywhere.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਝਕੋ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਹ ਦਰਿਸਟਾਰ ॥੧॥

| Nĝnak eko pasri▫ĝ ḝūjĝ kah ḝaristĝr. ((1))

| O Nanak, The One is All-pervading; where is any other to be seen? ((1))

| ਆਪਿ ਕਥੈ ਆਪਿ ਸਨਨੈਹਾਰ ॥
|
| Āp kathai ĝp sunnaihĝr.
|
| He Himself is the speaker, and He Himself is the listener.
|
| ਆਪਹਿ ਝਕ ਆਪਿ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥
|
| Āpėh ek ĝp bisthĝr.
|
| He Himself is the One, and He Himself is the many.
|
| ਜਾ ਤਿਸ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਸਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਝ ॥
|
| Jĝ ṯis bẖĝvai ṯĝ sarisat upĝ▫e.
|
| When it pleases Him, He creates the world.
|
| ਆਪਨੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਲਝ ਸਮਾਝ ॥
|
| Āpnai bẖĝṇai la▫e samĝ▫e.
|
| As He pleases, He absorbs it back into Himself.
|
| ਤਮ ਤੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਨਹੀ ਕਿਛ ਹੋਇ ॥
|
| Ŧum ṯe bẖinn nahī kicẖẖ ho▫e.
|
| Without You, nothing can be done.
|
| ਆਪਨ ਸੂਤਿ ਸਭ ਜਗਤ ਪਰੋਇ ॥
|
| Āpan sūṯ sabẖ jagaṯ paro▫e.
|
| Upon Your thread, You have strung the whole world.
|
| ਜਾ ਕਉ ਪਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਬਝਾਝ ॥
|
| Jĝ ka▫o parabẖ jī▫o ĝp bujẖĝ▫e.
|
| One whom God Himself inspires to understand -
|
| ਸਚ ਨਾਮ ਸੋਈ ਜਨ ਪਾਝ ॥
|
| Sacẖ nĝm so▫ī jan pĝ▫e.
|
| that person obtains the True Name.
|
| ਸੋ ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਤਤ ਕਾ ਬੇਤਾ ॥
|
| So samaḝrasī ṯaṯ kĝ beṯĝ.
|
| He looks impartially upon all, and he knows the essential reality.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਗਲ ਸਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਾ ਜੇਤਾ ॥੧॥
|
| Nĝnak sagal sarisat kĝ jeṯĝ. ((1))
|
| O Nanak, he conquers the whole world. ((1))
|
| ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤਰ ਸਭ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥ ॥
|
| Jī▫a janṯar sabẖ ṯĝ kai hĝth.
|
| All beings and creatures are in His Hands.
|
| ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
|
| Ḏīn ḝa▫i▫ĝl anĝth ko nĝth.
|
| He is Merciful to the meek, the Patron of the patronless.
|
| ਜਿਸ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
|
| Jis rĝkẖai ṯis ko▫e na mĝrai.
|
| No one can kill those who are protected by Him.
|
| ਸੋ ਮੂਆ ਜਿਸ ਮਨਹ ਬਿਸਾਰੈ ॥
|
| So mū▫ĝ jis manhu bisĝrai.
|
| One who is forgotten by God, is already dead.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਤਜਿ ਅਵਰ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Ŧis ṯaj avar kahĝ ko jĝ▫e.
|
| Leaving Him, where else could anyone go?
|
| ਸਭ ਸਿਰਿ ਝਕ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਰਾਇ ॥
|
| Sabẖ sir ek niranjan rĝ▫e.
|
| Over the heads of all is the One, the Immaculate King.
|
| ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਜਗਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
|
| Jī▫a kī jugaṯ jĝ kai sabẖ hĝth.
|
| The ways and means of all beings are in His Hands.
|
| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਾਨਹ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
|
| Anṯar bĝhar jĝnhu sĝth.
|
| Inwardly and outwardly, know that He is with you.
|
| ਗਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
|
| Gun niḝẖĝn be▫anṯ apĝr.
|
| He is the Ocean of excellence, infinite and endless.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥੨॥
|
| Nĝnak ḝĝs saḝĝ balihĝr. ((2))
|
| Slave Nanak is forever a sacrifice to Him. ((2))
|
| ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
|
| Pūran pūr rahe ḝa▫i▫ĝl.
|
| The Perfect, Merciful Lord is pervading everywhere.
|
| ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
|
| Sabẖ ūpar hovaṯ kirpĝl.
|
| His kindness extends to all.
|
| ਅਪਨੇ ਕਰਤਬ ਜਾਨੈ ਆਪਿ ॥
|
| Apne karṯab jĝnai ĝp.
|
| He Himself knows His own ways.
|
| ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਰਹਿਓ ਬਿਆਪਿ ॥
|
| Anṯarjĝmī rahi▫o bi▫ĝp.
|
| The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is present everywhere.
|
| ਪਰਤਿਪਾਲੈ ਜੀਅਨ ਬਹ ਭਾਤਿ ॥
|
| Paraṯipĝlai jī▫an baho bẖĝṯ.
|
| He cherishes His living beings in so many ways.
|
| ਜੋ ਜੋ ਰਚਿਓ ਸ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਤਿ ॥
|
| Jo jo racẖi▫o so ṯisėh ḝẖi▫ĝṯ.
|
| That which He has created meditates on Him.
|
| ਜਿਸ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸ ਲਝ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
|
| Jis bẖĝvai ṯis la▫e milĝ▫e.
|
| Whoever pleases Him, He blends into Himself.
|
| ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
|
| Bẖagaṯ karahi har ke guṇ gĝ▫e.
|
| They perform His devotional service and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
|
| ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਿਸਵਾਸ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
|
| Man anṯar bisvĝs kar mĝni▫ĝ.
|
| With heart-felt faith, they believe in Him.
|
| ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਕ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥
|
| Karanhĝr Nĝnak ik jĝni▫ĝ. ((3))
|
| O Nanak, they realize the One, the Creator Lord. ((3))
|
| ਜਨ ਲਾਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਝਕੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
|
| Jan lĝgĝ har ekai nĝ▫e.
|
| The Lord's humble servant is committed to His Name.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Ŧis kī ĝs na birthī jĝ▫e.
|
| His hopes do not go in vain.
|
| ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
|
| Sevak ka▫o sevĝ ban ĝ▫ī.
|
| The servant's purpose is to serve;
|
| ਹਕਮ ਬੂਝਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦ ਪਾਈ ॥
|
| Hukam būjẖ param paḝ pĝ▫ī.
|
| obeying the Lord's Command, the supreme status is obtained.
|
| ਇਸ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥
|
| Is ṯe ūpar nahī bīcẖĝr.
|
| Beyond this, he has no other thought.
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥
|
| Jĝ kai man basi▫ĝ nirankĝr.
|
| Within his mind, the Formless Lord abides.
|
| ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋਰਿ ਭਝ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ॥
|
| Banḝẖan ṯor bẖa▫e nirvair.
|
| His bonds are cut away, and he becomes free of hatred.
|
| ਅਨਦਿਨ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਗਰ ਕੇ ਪੈਰ ॥
|
| An▫ḝin pūjėh gur ke pair.
|
| Night and day, he worships the Feet of the Guru.
|
| ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਸਖੀਝ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਸਹੇਲੇ ॥
|
| Ih lok sukẖī▫e parlok suhele.
|
| He is at peace in this world, and happy in the next.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪਰਭਿ ਆਪਹਿ ਮੇਲੇ ॥੪॥
|
| Nĝnak har parabẖ ĝpėh mele. ((4))
|
| O Nanak, the Lord God unites him with Himself. ((4))
|
| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਹ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
|
| Sĝḝẖsang mil karahu anand.
|
| Join the Company of the Holy, and be happy.
|
| ਗਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਪਰਭ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥
|
| Gun gĝvhu parabẖ parmĝnanḝ.
|
| Sing the Glories of God, the embodiment of supreme bliss.
|
| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਤਤ ਕਰਹ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥
|
| Rĝm nĝm ṯaṯ karahu bīcẖĝr.
|
| Contemplate the essence of the Lord's Name.
|
| ਦਰਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਕਾ ਕਰਹ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
|
| Ḏarulabẖ ḝeh kĝ karahu uḝẖĝr.
|
| Redeem this human body, so difficult to obtain.
|
| ਅੰਮਰਿਤ ਬਚਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗਨ ਗਾਉ ॥
|
| Amriṯ bacẖan har ke gun gĝ▫o.
|
| Sing the Ambrosial Words of the Lord's Glorious Praises;
|
| ਪਰਾਨ ਤਰਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਸਆਉ ॥
|
| Parĝn ṯaran kĝ ihai su▫ĝ▫o.
|
| this is the way to save your mortal soul.
|
| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪਰਭ ਪੇਖਹ ਨੇਰਾ ॥
|
| Āṯẖ pahar parabẖ pekẖahu nerĝ.
|
| Behold God near at hand, twenty-four hours a day.
|
| ਮਿਟੈ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥
|
| Mitai agi▫ĝn binsai anḝẖerĝ.
|
| Ignorance shall depart, and darkness shall be dispelled.
|
| ਸਨਿ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਸਾਵਹ ॥
|
| Sun upḝes hirḝai basĝvhu.
|
| Listen to the Teachings, and enshrine them in your heart.
|
| ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹ ॥੫॥
|
| Man icẖẖe Nĝnak fal pĝvhu. ((5))
|
| O Nanak, you shall obtain the fruits of your mind's desires. ((5))
|
| ਹਲਤ ਪਲਤ ਦਇ ਲੇਹ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥
|
| Halaṯ palaṯ ḝu▫e leho savĝr.
|
| Embellish both this world and the next;
|
| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
|
| Rĝm nĝm anṯar ur ḝẖĝr.
|
| enshrine the Lord's Name deep within your heart.
|
| ਪੂਰੇ ਗਰ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੀਖਿਆ ॥
|
| Pūre gur kī pūrī ḝīkẖi▫ĝ.
|
| Perfect are the Teachings of the Perfect Guru.
|
| ਜਿਸ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਤਿਸ ਸਾਚ ਪਰੀਖਿਆ ॥
|
| Jis man basai ṯis sĝcẖ parīkẖi▫ĝ.
|
| That person, within whose mind it abides, realizes the Truth.
|
| ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਹ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
|
| Man ṯan nĝm japahu liv lĝ▫e.
|
| With your mind and body, chant the Naam; lovingly attune yourself to it.
|
| ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਭਉ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Ḏūkẖ ḝaraḝ man ṯe bẖa▫o jĝ▫e.
|
| Sorrow, pain and fear shall depart from your mind.
|
| ਸਚ ਵਾਪਾਰ ਕਰਹ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ॥
|
| Sacẖ vĝpĝr karahu vĝpĝrī.
|
| Deal in the true trade, O trader,
|
| ਦਰਗਹ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਖੇਪ ਤਮਾਰੀ ॥
|
| Ḏargėh nibhai kẖep ṯumĝrī.
|
| and your merchandise shall be safe in the Court of the Lord.
|
| ਝਕਾ ਟੇਕ ਰਖਹ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
|
| Ėkĝ tek rakẖahu man mĝhi.
|
| Keep the Support of the One in your mind.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਬਹਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੬॥
|
| Nĝnak bahur na ĝvahi jĝhi. ((6))
|
| O Nanak, you shall not have to come and go in reincarnation again. ((6))
|
| ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Ŧis ṯe ḝūr kahĝ ko jĝ▫e.
|
| Where can anyone go, to get away from Him?
|
| ਉਬਰੈ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
|
| Ubrai rĝkẖanhĝr ḝẖi▫ĝ▫e.
|
| Meditating on the Protector Lord, you shall be saved.
|
| ਨਿਰਭਉ ਜਪੈ ਸਗਲ ਭਉ ਮਿਟੈ ॥
|
| Nirbẖa▫o japai sagal bẖa▫o mitai.
|
| Meditating on the Fearless Lord, all fear departs.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਣੀ ਛਟੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kirpĝ ṯe parĝṇī cẖẖutai.
|
| By God's Grace, mortals are released.
|
| ਜਿਸ ਪਰਭ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਸ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਖ ॥
|
| Jis parabẖ rĝkẖai ṯis nĝhī ḝūkẖ.
|
| One who is protected by God never suffers in pain.
|
| ਨਾਮ ਜਪਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਸੂਖ ॥
|
| Nĝm japaṯ man hovaṯ sūkẖ.
|
| Chanting the Naam, the mind becomes peaceful.
|
| ਚਿੰਤਾ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਟੈ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥
|
| Cẖinṯĝ jĝ▫e mitai ahaʼnkĝr.
|
| Anxiety departs, and ego is eliminated.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਹਚਨਹਾਰ ॥
|
| Ŧis jan ka▫o ko▫e na pahucẖanhĝr.
|
| No one can equal that humble servant.
|
| ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਠਾਢਾ ਗਰ ਸੂਰਾ ॥
|
| Sir ūpar ṯẖĝdẖĝ gur sūrĝ.
|
| The Brave and Powerful Guru stands over his head.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੭॥
|
| Nĝnak ṯĝ ke kĝraj pūrĝ. ((7))
|
| O Nanak, his efforts are fulfilled. ((7))
|
| ਮਤਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਅੰਮਰਿਤ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦਰਿਸਟਿ ॥
|
| Maṯ pūrī amriṯ jĝ kī ḝarisat.
|
| His wisdom is perfect, and His Glance is Ambrosial.
|
| ਦਰਸਨ ਪੇਖਤ ਉਧਰਤ ਸਰਿਸਟਿ ॥
|
| Ḏarsan pekẖaṯ uḝẖraṯ sarisat.
|
| Beholding His Vision, the universe is saved.
|
| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਨੂਪ ॥
|
| Cẖaran kamal jĝ ke anūp.
|
| His Lotus Feet are incomparably beautiful.
|
| ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੰਦਰ ਹਰਿ ਰੂਪ ॥
|
| Safal ḝarsan sunḝar har rūp.
|
| The Blessed Vision of His Darshan is fruitful and rewarding; His Lordly Form is beautiful.
|
| ਧੰਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਪਰਵਾਨ ॥
|
| Ḏẖan sevĝ sevak parvĝn.
|
| Blessed is His service; His servant is famous.
|
| ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪਰਖ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥
|
| Anṯarjĝmī purakẖ parḝẖĝn.
|
| The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is the most exalted Supreme Being.
|
| ਜਿਸ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਸ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
|
| Jis man basai so hoṯ nihĝl.
|
| That one, within whose mind He abides, is blissfully happy.
|
| ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਕਾਲ ॥
|
| Ŧĝ kai nikat na ĝvaṯ kĝl.
|
| Death does not draw near him.
|
| ਅਮਰ ਭਝ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
|
| Amar bẖa▫e amrĝ paḝ pĝ▫i▫ĝ.
|
| One becomes immortal, and obtains the immortal status,
|
| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੮॥੨੨॥
|
| Sĝḝẖsang Nĝnak har ḝẖi▫ĝ▫i▫ĝ. ((8)(22))

| meditating on the Lord, O Nanak, in the Company of the Holy. ((8)(22))
