| Simrao simar simar sukẖ pĝvao.

| Meditate, meditate, meditate in remembrance of Him, and find peace.
|
| ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਤਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਉ ॥
|
| Kal kalės ṯan mĝhi mitĝvao.
|
| Worry and anguish shall be dispelled from your body.
|
| ਸਿਮਰਉ ਜਾਸ ਬਿਸੰਭਰ ਝਕੈ ॥
|
| Simrao jĝs bisumbẖar ėkai.
|
| Remember in praise the One who pervades the whole Universe.
|
| ਨਾਮ ਜਪਤ ਅਗਨਤ ਅਨੇਕੈ ॥
|
| Nĝm japaṯ agnaṯ anėkai.
|
| His Name is chanted by countless people, in so many ways.
|
| ਬੇਦ ਪਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮਰਿਤਿ ਸਧਾਖਯਯਰ ॥
|
| Bėḝ purĝn simriṯ suḝẖĝkẖyar.
|
| The Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees, the purest of utterances,
|
| ਕੀਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਆਖਯਯਰ ॥
|
| Kīnė rĝm nĝm ik ĝkẖyar.
|
| were created from the One Word of the Name of the Lord.
|
| ਕਿਨਕਾ ਝਕ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਅ ਬਸਾਵੈ ॥
|
| Kinkĝ ėk jis jīa basĝvai.
|
| That one, in whose soul the One Lord dwells -
|
| ਤਾ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਨੀ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
|
| Ŧĝ kī mahimĝ ganī na ĝvai.
|
| the praises of his glory cannot be recounted.
|
| ਕਾਂਖੀ ਝਕੈ ਦਰਸ ਤਹਾਰੋ ॥
|
| Kĝʼnkẖī ėkai ḝaras ṯuhĝro.
|
| Those who yearn only for the blessing of Your Darshan -
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਉਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰੋ ॥੧॥
|
| Nĝnak un sang mohi uḝẖĝro. ((1))

| Nanak: save me along with them! ((1))

| ਸਖਮਨੀ ਸਖ ਅੰਮਰਿਤ ਪਰਭ ਨਾਮ ॥

| Sukẖmanī sukẖ amriṯ parabẖ nĝm.
|
| Sukhmani: Peace of Mind, the Nectar of the Name of God.
|
| ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਿਸਰਾਮ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
|
| Bẖagaṯ janĝ kai man bisrĝm. Rahĝo.
|
| The minds of the devotees abide in a joyful peace. ((Pause))
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਬਸੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran garabẖ na basai.
|
| Remembering God, one does not have to enter into the womb again.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੂਖ ਜਮ ਨਸੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran ḝūkẖ jam nasai.
|
| Remembering God, the pain of death is dispelled.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਾਲ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran kĝl parharai.
|
| Remembering God, death is eliminated.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਸਮਨ ਟਰੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran ḝusman tarai.
|
| Remembering God, one's enemies are repelled.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਛ ਬਿਘਨ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ simraṯ kacẖẖ bigẖan na lĝgai.
|
| Remembering God, no obstacles are met.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਨਦਿਨ ਜਾਗੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran anḝin jĝgai.
|
| Remembering God, one remains awake and aware, night and day.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਉ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran bẖao na biĝpai.
|
| Remembering God, one is not touched by fear.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਖ ਨ ਸੰਤਾਪੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran ḝukẖ na sanṯĝpai.
|
| Remembering God, one does not suffer sorrow.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥

| Parabẖ kĝ simran sĝḝẖ kai sang.
|
| The meditative remembrance of God is in the Company of the Holy.
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥

| Sarab niḝẖĝn Nĝnak har rang. ((2))

| All treasures, O Nanak, are in the Love of the Lord. ((2))

| Parabẖ kai simran riḝẖ siḝẖ nao niḝẖ.
|
| In the remembrance of God are wealth, miraculous spiritual powers and the nine treasures.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਤਤ ਬਧਿ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran giĝn ḝẖiĝn ṯaṯ buḝẖ.
|
| In the remembrance of God are knowledge, meditation and the essence of wisdom.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran jap ṯap pūjĝ.
|
| In the remembrance of God are chanting, intense meditation and devotional worship.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran binsai ḝūjĝ.
|
| In the remembrance of God, duality is removed.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨੀ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran ṯirath isnĝnī.
|
| In the remembrance of God are purifying baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran ḝargeh mĝnī.
|
| In the remembrance of God, one attains honor in the Court of the Lord.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਸ ਭਲਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran hoė so bẖalĝ.
|
| In the remembrance of God, one becomes good.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਸਫਲ ਫਲਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran sufal falĝ.
|
| In the remembrance of God, one flowers in fruition.
|
| ਸੇ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਆਪਿ ਸਿਮਰਾਝ ॥
|
| Sė simrahi jin ĝp simrĝė.
|
| They alone remember Him in meditation, whom He inspires to meditate.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਝ ॥੩॥
|
| Nĝnak ṯĝ kai lĝgao pĝė. ((3))
|
| Nanak grasps the feet of those humble beings. ((3))

| ਪਰਭ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ॥

| Parabẖ kĝ simran sabẖ ṯė ūcẖĝ.
|
| The remembrance of God is the highest and most exalted of all.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਉਧਰੇ ਮੂਚਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran uḝẖrė mūcẖĝ.
|
| In the remembrance of God, many are saved.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤਰਿਸਨਾ ਬਝੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran ṯarisnĝ bujẖai.
|
| In the remembrance of God, thirst is quenched.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਸਭ ਕਿਛ ਸਝੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran sabẖ kicẖẖ sujẖai.
|
| In the remembrance of God, all things are known.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਮ ਤਰਾਸਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran nĝhī jam ṯarĝsĝ.
|
| In the remembrance of God, there is no fear of death.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran pūran ĝsĝ.
|
| In the remembrance of God, hopes are fulfilled.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਲ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran man kī mal jĝė.
|
| In the remembrance of God, the filth of the mind is removed.
|
| ਅੰਮਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
|
| Amriṯ nĝm riḝ mĝhi samĝė.
|
| The Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, is absorbed into the heart.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਜੀ ਬਸਹਿ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਰਸਨਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ jī baseh sĝḝẖ kī rasnĝ.
|
| God abides upon the tongues of His Saints.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਸਨਾ ॥੪॥
|
| Nĝnak jan kĝ ḝĝsan ḝasnĝ. ((4))
|
| Nanak is the servant of the slave of His slaves. ((4))
|

| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi sė ḝẖanvanṯė.
|
| Those who remember God are wealthy.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਪਤਿਵੰਤੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi sė paṯivanṯė.
|
| Those who remember God are honorable.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi sė jan parvĝn.
|
| Those who remember God are approved.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਪਰਖ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi sė purakẖ parḝẖĝn.
|
| Those who remember God are the most distinguished persons.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਿ ਬੇਮਹਤਾਜੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi se bėmuhṯĝjė.
|
| Those who remember God are not lacking.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਿ ਸਰਬ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi se sarab kė rĝjė.
|
| Those who remember God are the rulers of all.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਸਖਵਾਸੀ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi sė sukẖvĝsī.
|
| Those who remember God dwell in peace.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi saḝĝ abẖinĝsī.
|
| Those who remember God are immortal and eternal.
|
| ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਜਿਨ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
|
| Simran ṯė lĝgė jin ĝp ḝaiĝlĝ.
|
| They alone hold to the remembrance of Him, unto whom He Himself shows His Mercy.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਮੰਗੈ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥੫॥
|
| Nĝnak jan kī mangai ravĝlĝ. ((5))
|
| Nanak begs for the dust of their feet. ((5))
|

| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi sė parupkĝrī.
|
| Those who remember God generously help others.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi ṯin saḝ balihĝrī.
|
| Those who remember God - to them, I am forever a sacrifice.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਮਖ ਸਹਾਵੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi sė mukẖ suhĝvė.
|
| Those who remember God - their faces are beautiful.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੂਖਿ ਬਿਹਾਵੈ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi ṯin sūkẖ bihĝvai.
|
| Those who remember God abide in peace.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਆਤਮ ਜੀਤਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi ṯin ĝṯam jīṯĝ.
|
| Those who remember God conquer their souls.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਾ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi ṯin nirmal rīṯĝ.
|
| Those who remember God have a pure and spotless lifestyle.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਅਨਦ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi ṯin anaḝ gẖanėrė.
|
| Those who remember God experience all sorts of joys.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਬਸਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨੇਰੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kao simrahi baseh har nėrė.
|
| Those who remember God abide near the Lord.
|
| ਸੰਤ ਕਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਅਨਦਿਨ ਜਾਗਿ ॥
|
| Sanṯ kirpĝ ṯė anḝin jĝg.
|
| By the Grace of the Saints, one remains awake and aware, night and day.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ॥੬॥
|
| Nĝnak simran pūrai bẖĝg. ((6))
|
| O Nanak, this meditative remembrance comes only by perfect destiny. ((6))

| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran kĝraj pūrė.
|
| Remembering God, one's works are accomplished.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਬਹ ਨ ਝੂਰੇ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran kabahu na jẖūrė.
|
| Remembering God, one never grieves.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਨ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran har gun bĝnī.
|
| Remembering God, one speaks the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran sahj samĝnī.
|
| Remembering God, one is absorbed into the state of intuitive ease.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਆਸਨ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran nihcẖal ĝsan.
|
| Remembering God, one attains the unchanging position.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸਨ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran kamal bigĝsan.
|
| Remembering God, the heart-lotus blossoms forth.
|
| ਪਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਝਨਕਾਰ ॥
|
| Parabẖ kai simran anhaḝ jẖunkĝr.
|
| Remembering God, the unstruck melody vibrates.
|
| ਸਖ ਪਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਾ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਪਾਰ ॥
|
| Sukẖ parabẖ simran kĝ anṯ na pĝr.
|
| The peace of the meditative remembrance of God has no end or limitation.
|
| ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪਰਭ ਮਇਆ ॥
|
| Simrahi sė jan jin kao parabẖ maiĝ.
|
| They alone remember Him, upon whom God bestows His Grace.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਇਆ ॥੭॥
|
| Nĝnak ṯin jan sarnī paiĝ. ((7))
|
| Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of those humble beings. ((7))
|

| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤ ਪਰਗਟਾਝ ॥
|
| Har simran kar bẖagaṯ pargatĝė.
|
| Remembering the Lord, His devotees are famous and radiant.
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਲਗਿ ਬੇਦ ਉਪਾਝ ॥
|
| Har simran lag bėḝ upĝė.
|
| Remembering the Lord, the Vedas were composed.
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਝ ਸਿਧ ਜਤੀ ਦਾਤੇ ॥
|
| Har simran bẖaė siḝẖ jaṯī ḝĝṯė.
|
| Remembering the Lord, we become Siddhas, celibates and givers.
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨੀਚ ਚਹ ਕੰਟ ਜਾਤੇ ॥
|
| Har simran nīcẖ cẖahu kunt jĝṯė.
|
| Remembering the Lord, the lowly become known in all four directions.
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਸਭ ਧਰਨਾ ॥
|
| Har simran ḝẖĝrī sabẖ ḝẖarnĝ.
|
| For the remembrance of the Lord, the whole world was established.
|
| ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ॥
|
| Simar simar har kĝran karnĝ.
|
| Remember, remember in meditation the Lord, the Creator, the Cause of causes.
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕੀਓ ਸਗਲ ਅਕਾਰਾ ॥
|
| Har simran kīo sagal akĝrĝ.
|
| For the remembrance of the Lord, He created the whole creation.
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
|
| Har simran meh ĝp nirankĝrĝ.
|
| In the remembrance of the Lord, He Himself is Formless.
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸ ਆਪਿ ਬਝਾਇਆ ॥
|
| Kar kirpĝ jis ĝp bujẖĝiĝ.
|
| By His Grace, He Himself bestows understanding.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਗਰਮਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੮॥੧॥
|
| Nĝnak gurmukẖ har simran ṯin pĝiĝ. ((8)(1))
|
| O Nanak, the Gurmukh attains the remembrance of the Lord. ((8)(1))
