Sandhu (Punjabi: ਸੰਧੂ) is a second largest clan as well as surname of Jatt people of Punjab. The largest clan is Sidhu-Brar. It's member mainly lives in Punjab region (East Punjab and West Punjab) and also abroad as they migrated overseas. As of 1881 census, there were 135732 Sandhus.[1][2]
The Hindu Sandhu Jatts of Bar region, converted to Islam, while the Hindu Sandhu Jatts, of Majha region, converted to Sikhism. Muslim Sandhu Jatts were mainly found in Sialkot, Gujranwala, Shiekhupura, Lyallpur, districts of the Bar, while the Sikh Sandhu Jatts, were found in, great large numbers in Amritsar, Lahore, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, districts of Majha, Doaba, and Malva.
