Samagam is a Punjabi word which means an important "Gathering" or "Meeting" of the Sangat to take part in an event to celebrate, announce or exchange ideas of great communal value. In Sikhism the word refers to a spiritual gathering where ideas connected with the Gurus and Gurbani will be exchanged.

Most Samagams are held in Gurdwaras or will be in venues where one would have to honor some of the rules applicable to a Gurdwara situation. At many Samagams, Guru Granth Sahib will be present and all rules applicable to Darbar Sahib will have to be observed. Guru-ka-Langar will usually be served.
