The Sachkhand Nanak Dham (‘true house of God’) was founded by Darshan Dass (1953–1987) in Batala, Punjab in 1973. Darshan first visited England during the winter of 1979. There followed many other visits, and the numbers of followers grew rapidly. They included people of all walks of life, Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Sikhs: Darshan encouraged people to follow the truth that is God—within their own faith and to recognise that truth in each person.

Darshan preached that the spiritual journey that every human being must undertake for a better understanding of self and of the One God must be undertaken under the guidance of a living spiritual Master. The year 1980 saw the inauguration of Das Dharam, the practical arm of the Mission: members are encouraged to serve all humanity on a voluntary basis. The Punjabi slogan he gave to his followers was nanak naam chardi kala tere bhane sarbat da bhala, which translates roughly as: “In the name of the Supreme Power, do something good for someone else in your life.”

Members are encouraged to lead a teetotal and vegetarian lifestyle and adopt the fundamental principles of Das Dharam, which are: speak the truth, be content, follow the guidance of a spiritual master and put yourself out for someone else in your life.

A permanent centre was established in Handsworth, Birmingham in 1982. During the turbulent year of 1984, Darshan spoke out against the injustices and intolerances then afflicting the Punjab. He was assassinated in a school hall in Southall during a prayer meeting in November 1987.

This cult is anti-Sikh and any follower of it can't be considered Sikh. The killing of Darshan Dass is explainable and even supportable. The reasons are following: he was basically doing what the RSS is doing now, but then in the 80's. He would promote Indian nationalism, and openly condemn the Sikh freedom movement.

He would also twist gurbani and insult guru sahiban, he has his own greeting... "nanak naam chardi kala ther bahnae sarbaht da bhala"

He also used to have illicit relationships with his female followers.

All his followers would wear tilaks, he would sit on a throne and called him self maharaj darshan daas jee.

The two lions of the panth Rajinder Singh and Manjit Singh, couldn't take this and took the right action. They killed him in one of his programs in Southall. The fake gurus followers then got hold of them and got them imprisoned. At the trial the judge said that all they had to do was to admit that what they did was wrong and he would this sentence them leniantly. Instead they said that everything they did was right right and they would do it again if necessary, and are thus serving life imprisonement.

They send letters from jail, this letters put me to shame, the chardi kala of these singhs is unbelievable, they are so inspiring and still urge the youth to fight all the anti-panthic elements that exist. i will try and post one of their letters on here.....

The currect so-called Guru of this sect is Darshan Dass' son Tarlochan Dass.
