ਭਾਗ भाग SECTION

ਅਥ ਸੀਤਾ ਖੋਜਬੋ ਕਥਨੰ ॥ अथ सीता खोजबो कथनं ॥ Now begin the description about the search for Sita :

ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ ॥ तोटक छंद ॥ TOTAK STANZA

ਰਘ੝ਨਾਥ ਹਰੀ ਸੀਅ ਹੇਰ ਮਨੰ ॥ ਗਹਿ ਬਾਨ ਸਿਲਾ ਸਿਤ ਸਜਿ ਧਨੰ ॥ रघढ़नाथ हरी सीअ हेर मनं ॥ गहि बान सिला सित सजि धनं ॥ When Ram visualized in his mind about the abduction of Sita, he caught hold of his bow and arrows in his hand and sat down on a white rock.

ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਸ੝ਧਾਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਫਿਰੇ ॥ ਛਿਤ ਊਪਰ ਸ੝ਰੀ ਰਘ੝ਰਾਜ ਗਿਰੇ॥੩੫੬॥ चहूं ओर सढ़धारि निहारि फिरे ॥ छित ऊपर सढ़री रघढ़राज गिरे॥३५६॥ He saw once again on all the four sides, but ultimately he fell down on the earth in disappontment.356.

ਲਘ੝ਬੀਰ ਉਠਾਇ ਸ੝ ਅੰਕ ਭਰੇ ॥ ਮ੝ਖ ਪੋਛ ਤਬੈ ਬਚਨਾ ਉਚਰੇ ॥ लघढ़बीर उठाइ सढ़ अंक भरे ॥ मढ़ख पोछ तबै बचना उचरे ॥ His younger brother clasped him and raised him and said while cleansing his face :

ਕਸ ਅਧੀਰ ਪਰੇ ਪ੝ਰਭ ਧੀਰ ਧਰੋ ॥ ਸੀਅ ਜਾਇ ਕਹਾ ਤਿਹ ਸੋਧ ਕਰੋ ॥੩੫੭॥ कस अधीर परे पढ़रभ धीर धरो ॥ सीअ जाइ कहा तिह सोध करो ॥३५७॥ O my Lord ! Do not be impatient, keep your composure. Ruminate on the fact where Sita has gone.?"357.

ਉਠ ਠਾਢਿ ਭਝ ਫਿਰ ਭੂਮ ਗਿਰੇ ॥ ਪਹਰੇਕਕ ਲਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਪ੝ਰਾਨ ਫਿਰੇ ॥ उठ ठाढि भझ फिर भूम गिरे ॥ पहरेकक लउ फिरि पढ़रान फिरे ॥ Ram got up but again swooned and came to consciousness again after some time.

ਤਨ ਚੇਤ ਸ੝ਚੇਤ ਉਠੇ ਹਰਿ ਯੌਂ ॥ ਰਣ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਧਿ ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਭਟ ਜਯੋਂ ॥੩੫੮॥ तन चेत सढ़चेत उठे हरि यौं ॥ रण मंडल मधि गिरियो भट जयों ॥३५८॥ He got up from the earth like a warrior slowly regaining consciousness in the battlefield.358.

ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਪ੝ਕਾਰ ਬਕਾਰ ਥਕੇ ।ਲਘ੝ ਭ੝ਰਾਤ ਭਝ ਬਹ੝ ਭਾਤਿ ਝਬੇ॥ चहूं ओर पढ़कार बकार थके ।लघढ़ भढ़रात भझ बहढ़ भाति झबे॥ He grew tired on shouting on all the four sides and experienced great anguish alongwith his younger brother.

ਉਠਕੈ ਪ੝ਨ ਪ੝ਰਾਤਿ ਇਸਨਾਨ ਗਝ ॥ ਜਲ ਜੰਤ ਸਭੈ ਜਰਿ ਛਾਰਿ ਭਝ ॥੩੫੯॥ उठकै पढ़न पढ़राति इसनान गझ ॥ जल जंत सभै जरि छारि भझ ॥३५९॥ He went to take bath early in the morning and with the impact of the heat of his agony, all the creatures in the water were burnt down and reduced to ashes.359.

ਬਿਰਹੀ ਜਿਹ ਓਰਿ ਸ੝ ਦਿਸਟਿ ਧਰੈ ॥ ਫਲ ਫੂਲ ਪਲਾਸ ਅਕਾਸ ਜਰੈ ॥ बिरही जिह ओरि सढ़ दिसटि धरै ॥ फल फूल पलास अकास जरै ॥ The direction to which Ram saw in his state separation from his beloved, all the flowers and fruit as well us the trees of Palas and the sky burnt with the heat of his vision.

ਕਰ ਸੌ ਧਰਿ ਜਉਨ ਛ੝ਅੰਤ ਭਈ ॥ ਕਚ ਬਾਸਨ ਜਿਯੋਂ ਪਕਿ ਫੂਟਿ ਗਈ ॥੩੬੦॥ कर सौ धरि जउन छढ़अंत भई ॥ कच बासन जियों पकि फूटि गई ॥३६०॥ Whenever he touched the earth with his hands, the earth cracked like a brittle vessel with his touch.360.

ਜਿਹ ਭੂਮਿ ਥਲੀ ਪਰ ਰਾਮ ਫਿਰੇ ॥ ਦਵ ਜਯੋਂ ਜਲਿ ਪਾਤ ਪਲਾਸ ਗਿਰੇ ॥ जिह भूमि थली पर राम फिरे ॥ दव जयों जलि पात पलास गिरे ॥ The ground on which Ram rested, the Palas trees (on that ground) were burnt down and reduced to ashes like the grass.

ਟ੝ਟ ਆਸੂ ਆਰਣ ਨੈਨ ਝਰੀ ॥ ਮਨੋ ਤਾਤ ਤਵਾ ਪਰ ਬੂੰਦ ਪਰੀ ॥੩੬੧॥ टढ़ट आसू आरण नैन झरी ॥ मनो तात तवा पर बूंद परी ॥३६१॥ The continuous flow of his tears evaporated on falling down on the earth like the drops of water falling on the got plate.361.

ਤਨ ਰਾਘਵ ਭੇਟਿ ਸਮੀਰ ਜਰੀ ॥ ਤਜ ਧੀਰ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਮਾਝ ਦ੝ਰੀ ॥ तन राघव भेटि समीर जरी ॥ तज धीर सरोवर माझ दढ़री ॥ Even the cold mind burnt when it touched his body and controlling its coolness and forsaking its patience, it merged into the pool of water;

ਨਹਿ ਤੱਤ੝ਰ ਥਲੀ ਸਤ ਪੱਤ੝ਰ ਰਹੇ ॥ ਜਲ ਜੰਤ ਪਰਤ੝ਰਿਣ ਪਤ੝ਰ ਦਹੇ ॥੩੬੨॥ नहि तढ़तढ़र थली सत पढ़तढ़र रहे ॥ जल जंत परतढ़रिण पतढ़र दहे ॥३६२॥ Even there the leaves of lotus could not survive and the creatures of water, grass, leaves etc. all were reduced to ashes with the geat of the state of separation of Ram.362.

ਇਤ ਢੂੰਢ ਬਨੇ ਰਘ੝ਨਾਥ ਫਿਰੇ ॥ ਉਤ ਰਾਵਨ ਆਨਿ ਜਟਾਯ੝ ਘਿਰੇ ॥ इत ढूंढ बने रघढ़नाथ फिरे ॥ उत रावन आनि जटायढ़ घिरे ॥ On this side Ram was roaming in the forest in search of Sita, on the other side Ravana was surrounded by Jatayu.

ਰਣ ਛੋਰਿ ਹਠੀ ਪਗ ਦ੝ਝ ਨ ਭਜਿਯੋ ॥ ਉਡ ਪੱਛ ਗਝ ਪੈ ਨ ਪੱਛ ਤਜਿਯੋ ॥੩੬੩॥ रण छोरि हठी पग दढ़झ न भजियो ॥ उड पढ़छ गझ पै न पढ़छ तजियो ॥३६३॥ The persistent Jatayu did not yield in its fierce fighting even though its wings were chopped.363.

ਗੀਤਾ ਮਾਲਤੀ ਛੰਦ ॥ गीता मालती छंद ॥ GEETA MALTI STANZA

ਪਛਰਾਜ ਰਾਵਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਰਘ੝ਰਾਜ ਸੀਤਹਿ ਲੈ ਗਯੋ ॥ पछराज रावन मारि कै रघढ़राज सीतहि लै गयो ॥ Ravana took away Sita after killing Jatayu,

ਨਭਿ ਓਰ ਖੋਰ ਨਿਹਾਰਕੈ ਸ੝ ਜਟਾਉ ਸੀਅ ਸੰਦੇਸ ਦਯੋ ॥ नभि ओर खोर निहारकै सढ़ जटाउ सीअ संदेस दयो ॥ This message was communicated by Jatayu, when Ram saw towards the sky.

ਤਬ ਜਾਨ ਰਾਮ ਗਝ ਬਲੀ ਸੀਅ ਸੱਤ ਰਾਵਨ ਹੀ ਹਰੀ ॥ तब जान राम गझ बली सीअ सढ़त रावन ही हरी ॥ On meeting Jatayu Ram came to know for certain that Ravana had abducted Sita.

ਹਨਵੰਤ ਮਾਰਗ ਮੋ ਮਿਲੇ ਤਬ ਮਿੱਤ੝ਰਤਾ ਤਾ ਸੋਂ ਕਰੀ ॥੩੬੪॥ हनवंत मारग मो मिले तब मिढ़तढ़रता ता सों करी ॥३६४॥ Roaming on the paths (of the forest) Ram met Hanuman and they both became friends.364.

ਤਿਨਿ ਆਨਿ ਸ੝ਰੀ ਰਘ੝ਰਾਜ ਕੇ ਕਪਿਰਾਜ ਪਾਇਨ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥ तिनि आनि सढ़री रघढ़राज के कपिराज पाइन डारियो ॥ Hanuman brought Sugriva the king of monkeys to fall at the feet of Ram.

ਤਿਨ ਬੈਠ ਗੈਠ ਇਕੈਠ ਹ੝ਵੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਮੰਤ੝ਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥ तिन बैठ गैठ इकैठ हढ़वै इह भांति मंतढ़र बिचारियो ॥ And all of them unitedly held consultation amongst themselves,

ਕਪਿ ਬੀਰ ਧੀਰ ਸਧੀਰ ਕੇ ਭਟ ਮੰਤ੝ਰ ਬੀਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਕੈ ॥ कपि बीर धीर सधीर के भट मंतढ़र बीर बिचारकै ॥ All the ministers sat down and gave their personal views.

ਅਪਨਾਇ ਸ੝ਗ੝ਰਿਵ ਕਉ ਚਲੇ ਕਪਿਰਾਜ ਬਾਲ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਕੈ ॥੩੬੫॥ अपनाइ सढ़गढ़रिव कउ चले कपिराज बाल संघार कै ॥३६५॥ Ram killed Bali, the king of monkeys and made Sugriva his permanent ally.365.

ਇਤਿ ਸ੝ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੝ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੝ਰੰਥੇ ਬਾਲਿ ਬਧਹ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ॥੮॥ इति सढ़री बचितढ़र नाटक गढ़रंथे बालि बधह धिआइ समापतम ॥८॥ End of the chapter entitled Killing of Bali` in BACHITTAR NATAK.
