ਅਥ ਮੰਦੋਦਰੀ ਸਮੋਧ ਬਭੀਛਨ ਕੋ ਲੰਕ ਰਾਜ ਦੀਬੋ ॥ अथ मंदोदरी समोध बभीछन को लंक राज दीबो ॥ Now begins the description of contemporaneous knowledge to Mandodari and the bestowal of the kingdom of Lanka to Vibhishana:

ਸੀਤਾ ਮਿਲਬੋ ਕਥਨੰ ॥ सीता मिलबो कथनं ॥ Description of the Union with Sita :

ਸ੝ਵੈਯਾ ਛੰਦ ॥ सढ़वैया छंद ॥ SWAYYA STANZA

ਇੰਦ੝ਰ ਡਰਾਕ੝ਲ ਥੋ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਡਰਿ ਸੂਰਜ ਚੰਦ੝ਰ ਹ੝ਤੋ ਭਯ ਭੀਤੋ ॥ ਲੂਟ ਲਯੋ ਧਨ ਜਉਨ ਧਨੇਸ ਕੋ ਬ੝ਰਹਮ ਹ੝ੇਤੇ ਚਿਤ ਮੋ ਨ ਨਿਚੀਤੋ ॥ इंदढ़र डराकढ़ल थो जिह के डरि सूरज चंदढ़र हढ़तो भय भीतो ॥ लूट लयो धन जउन धनेस को बढ़रहम हढ़ेते चित मो न निचीतो ॥ He, from whom Indra, moon and sun felt baffled, he who had plundered the stores of Kuber and he before whom Brahma kept silent;

ਇੰਦ੝ਰ ਸੇ ਭੂਪ ਅਨੇਕ ਲਰੈ ਇਨ ਸੌ ਫਿਰਿ ਕੈ ਗ੝ਰਹ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਜੀਤੋ ॥ ਸੋ ਰਨਿ ਆਜ ਭਲੈ ਰਘ੝ਰਾਜ ਸ੝ ਜ੝ੱਧ ਸ੝ਯੰਬਰ ਕੈ ਸੀਅ ਜੀਤੋ ॥੬੨੩॥ इंदढ़र से भूप अनेक लरै इन सौ फिरि कै गढ़रह जात न जीतो ॥ सो रनि आज भलै रघढ़राज सढ़ जढ़ढ़ध सढ़यढ़मबर कै सीअ जीतो ॥६२३॥ He with whom many beings like Indra fought, but who could not be conquered; conquering him today in the battlefield, Ram also conquered Sita as in the ceremony of Svayyamvara.623.

ਅਲਕਾ ਛੰਦ ॥ अलका छंद ॥ ALKA STANZA

ਚਟਪਟ ਸੈਣੰ ਖਟਪਟ ਭਾਜੇ ॥ ਝਟਪਟ ਜ੝ੱਝਿਯੋ ਲਖਿ ਰਣਿ ਰਾਜੇ ॥ ਸਟਪਟ ਭਾਜੇ ਅਟਪਟ ਸੂਰੰ ॥ ਝਟਪਟ ਬਿਸਰੀ ਘਟ ਪਟ ਹੂਰੰ ॥੬੨੪॥ चटपट सैणं खटपट भाजे ॥ झटपट जढ़ढ़झियो लखि रणि राजे ॥ सटपट भाजे अटपट सूरं ॥ झटपट बिसरी घट पट हूरं ॥६२४॥ The forces ran quickly and began to fight, the warriors ran speedily and they forgot their thoughts about the heavenly damsels.624.

ਚਟਪਟ ਪੈਠੇ ਖਟਪਟ ਲੰਕੰ ॥ ਰਣ ਤਜਿ ਸੂਰੰ ਧਰ ਬੰਕੰ ॥ ਝਲਹਲ ਬਾਰੰ ਨਰਬਰ ਨੈਣੰ ॥ ਧਕਿ ਧਕਿ ਉਚਰੇ ਭਕਿ ਬੈਣੰ ॥੬੨੫॥ चटपट पैठे खटपट लंकं ॥ रण तजि सूरं धर बंकं ॥ झलहल बारं नरबर नैणं ॥ धकि धकि उचरे भकि बैणं ॥६२५॥ The warriors abandoning the field and the arrows entered Lanka; seeing Ram with their own eyes they raised utterances of lamentation.625.

ਨਰ ਬਰ ਰਾਮੰ ਬਰਨਰ ਮਾਰੋ ॥ ਝਟਪਟ ਬਾਹੰ ਕਟਿ ਕਟਿ ਡਾਰੋ ॥ ਤਬ ਸਭ ਭਾਜੇ ਰਖਿ ਰਖਿ ਪ੝ਰਾਣੰ ॥ ਖਟਪਟ ਮਾਰੇ ਝਟਪਟ ਬਾਣੰ ॥੬੨੬॥ नर बर रामं बरनर मारो ॥ झटपट बाहं कटि कटि डारो ॥ तब सभ भाजे रखि रखि पढ़राणं ॥ खटपट मारे झटपट बाणं ॥६२६॥ The superb Ram killed all of them and chopped their arms; then all (others) saving themselves, fled away and Ram showered arrows on those running fighters.626.

ਚਰਪਟ ਰਾਨੀ ਸਟਪਟ ਧਾਈ ॥ ਰਟਪਟ ਰੋਵਤ ਅਟਪਟ ਆਈ ॥ ਚਟਪਟ ਲਾਗੀ ਅਟਪਟ ਪਾਯੰ ॥ ਨਰਬਰ ਨਿਰਖੇ ਰਘ੝ਬਰ ਰਾਯੰ ॥੬੨੭॥ चरपट रानी सटपट धाई ॥ रटपट रोवत अटपट आई ॥ चटपट लागी अटपट पायं ॥ नरबर निरखे रघढ़बर रायं ॥६२७॥ All the queen ran weeping instantly and came to fall at the feet of Ram; Ram saw all the spectacle.627.

ਚਟਪਟ ਲੋਟੈ ਅਟਪਟ ਧਰਣੀ ॥ ਕਸਿ ਕਸਿ ਰੋਵੈ ਬਰਨਰ ਬਰਣੀ ॥ ਪਟਪਟ ਡਾਰੈਂ ਅਟਪਟ ਕੇਸੰ ॥ ਬਟਹਰ ਕੂਕੈ ਨਟ ਵਰ ਭੇਸੰ ॥੬੨੮॥ चटपट लोटै अटपट धरणी ॥ कसि कसि रोवै बरनर बरणी ॥ पटपट डारैं अटपट केसं ॥ बटहर कूकै नट वर भेसं ॥६२८॥ The queens rolled on the earth and began to weep and lament in various ways; they pulled their hair and garments and cried and shrieked in various ways.628.

ਚਟਪਟ ਚੀਰੰ ਅਟਪਟ ਪਾਰੈ ॥ ਧਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਧੂਰੰ ਸਰਬਰ ਡਾਰੈਂ ॥ ਸਟਪਟ ਲੋਟੈ ਖਟਪਟ ਭੂਮੰ ॥ ਝਟਪਟ ਝੂਰੈ ਘਰਹਰਿ ਘੂਮੰ ॥੬੨੯॥ चटपट चीरं अटपट पारै ॥ धरि करि धूरं सरबर डारैं ॥ सटपट लोटै खटपट भूमं ॥ झटपट झूरै घरहरि घूमं ॥६२९॥ They began to tear their raiments and put the dust on their heads; they in great sorrow cried, threw themselves down and rolled.629.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥ रसावल छंद ॥ RASAAVAL STANZA

ਜਬੈ ਰਾਮ ਦੇਖੈ ॥ ਮਹਾ ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖੈ ॥ ਰਹੀ ਨਯਾਇ ਸੀਸੰ ॥ ਸਭੈ ਨਾਰਿ ਈਸੰ ॥੬੩੦॥ जबै राम देखै ॥ महा रूप लेखै ॥ रही नयाइ सीसं ॥ सभै नारि ईसं ॥६३०॥ When all of them saw the most beautiful Ram, they bowed their heads and stood before him.630.

ਲਖਂ ਰੂਪ ਮੋਹੀ ॥ ਫਿਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੋਹੀ ॥ ਦਈ ਤਾਹਿ ਲੰਕਾ ॥ ਜਿਮੰ ਰਾਜ ਟੰਕਾ ॥੬੩੧॥ लखं रूप मोही ॥ फिरी राम दोही ॥ दई ताहि लंका ॥ जिमं राज टंका ॥६३१॥ They were allured to see the beauty of Ram; there was talk about Ram on all the four sides and they all gave Ram the kingdom of Lanka like the tax-payer setting tax with the authority.631.

ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾ ਦ੝ਰਿਸਟ ਭੀਨੇ ॥ ਤਰੇ ਨੇਤ੝ਰ ਕੀਨੇ ॥ ਝਰੈ ਬਾਰਿ ਝਸੇ ॥ ਮਹਾ ਮੇਘ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੬੩੨॥ कढ़रिपा दढ़रिसट भीने ॥ तरे नेतढ़र कीने ॥ झरै बारि झसे ॥ महा मेघ जैसे ॥६३२॥ Ram bowed down his eyes filled with grace; seeing him, the tears of joy flowed down from the eyes of people like the rain falling from the clouds.632.

ਛਕੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ ਸਰੰ ਕਾਮ ਮਾਰੀ ॥ ਬਿਧੀ ਰੂਪ ਰਾਮੰ ॥ ਮਹਾਂ ਧਰਮ ਧਾਮੰ ॥੬੩੩॥ छकी पेखि नारी ॥ सरं काम मारी ॥ बिधी रूप रामं ॥ महां धरम धामं ॥६३३॥ The woman allured by lust, were delighted to see Ram and they all ended their identity in Ram, the abode of Dharma. 633.

ਤਜੀ ਨਾਥ ਪ੝ਰੀਤੰ ॥ ਚ੝ਭੇ ਰਾਮ ਚੀਤੰ ॥ ਰਹੀ ਜੋਰਿ ਨੈਣੰ ॥ ਕਹੈ ਮਦ ਬੈਣੰ ॥੬੩੪॥ तजी नाथ पढ़रीतं ॥ चढ़भे राम चीतं ॥ रही जोरि नैणं ॥ कहै मद बैणं ॥६३४॥ They all absorbed their minds in Ram, forsaking the love of their husbands and looking towards him resolutely, they began to talk with one another.634.

ਸੀਆ ਨਾਥ ਨੀਕੇ ॥ ਹਰੈਂ ਹਾਰਿ ਜੀਕੇ ॥ ਲਝ ਜਾਤਿ ਚਿੱਤੰ ॥ ਮਨੋ ਚਰ ਬਿੱਤੰ ॥੬੩੫॥ सीआ नाथ नीके ॥ हरैं हारि जीके ॥ लझ जाति चिढ़तं ॥ मनो चर बिढ़तं ॥६३५॥ Ram, the Lord of Sita, is winsome and abductor of the mind; he is stealing the conscious mind like a thief.635.

ਸਭੈ ਪਾਇ ਲਾਗੋ ॥ ਪਤੰ ਦ੝ਰੋਹ ਤਯਾਗੋ ॥ ਲਗੀ ਧਾਇ ਪਾਯੰ ॥ ਸਭੈ ਨਾਰਿ ਆਯੰ ॥੬੩੬॥ सभै पाइ लागो ॥ पतं दढ़रोह तयागो ॥ लगी धाइ पायं ॥ सभै नारि आयं ॥६३६॥ All the wives of Ravana were told to abandon the sorrow of their husband and touch the feet of Ram; all of them came forward and fell on his feet.636.

ਮਹਾ ਰੂਪ ਜਾਨੇ ॥ ਚਿਤੰ ਚੋਰ ਮਾਨੇ ॥ ਚ੝ਭੇ ਚਿੱਤਿ ਝਸੇ ॥ ਸਿਤੰ ਸਾਇ ਕੈਸੇ ॥੬੩੭॥ महा रूप जाने ॥ चितं चोर माने ॥ चढ़भे चिढ़ति झसे ॥ सितं साइ कैसे ॥६३७॥ The most beautiful Ram recognized their feelings; he absorbed himself in the minds of all and all of them pursued him like shadow.637.

ਲਗੋ ਹੋਮ ਰੂਪੰ ॥ ਸਭੈ ਭੂਪ ਭੂਪੰ ॥ ਰੰਗੇ ਰੰਗ ਨੈਣੰ ॥ ਛਕੇ ਦੇਵ ਗੈਣੰ ॥੬੩੮॥ लगो होम रूपं ॥ सभै भूप भूपं ॥ रंगे रंग नैणं ॥ छके देव गैणं ॥६३८॥ Ram appeared to them in golden hue and looked like king of all kings; the eyes of all were dyed in his love and the gods were delighted to see him from the sky.638.

ਜਿਨੈ ਝਕ ਬਾਰੰ ॥ ਲਖੇ ਰਾਵਣਾਰੰ ॥ ਰਹੀ ਮੋਹਤ ਹ੝ਵੈ ਕੈ ॥ ਲ੝ਭੀ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥੬੩੯॥ जिनै झक बारं ॥ लखे रावणारं ॥ रही मोहत हढ़वै कै ॥ लढ़भी देख कै कै ॥६३९॥ He, who saw Ram even once, she was completely allured.639.

ਛਕੀ ਰੂਪ ਰਾਮੰ ॥ ਗਝ ਭੂਲ ਧਾਮੰ ॥ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਰਾਮ ਬੋਧੰ ॥ ਮਹਾਂ ਜ੝ੱਧ ਜੋਧੰ ॥੬੪੦॥ छकी रूप रामं ॥ गझ भूल धामं ॥ करियो राम बोधं ॥ महां जढ़ढ़ध जोधं ॥६४०॥ She forgot the consciousness of all else seeing the beauty of Ram and began to talk to supremely mighty Ram.640.

ਰਾਮ ਬਾਚ ਮਦੋਦਰੀ ਪ੝ਰਤਿ ॥ राम बाच मदोदरी पढ़रति ॥ The speech of Ram addressed to Mandodari :

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥ रसावल छंद ॥ RASAAVAL STANZA

ਸ੝ਨੋ ਰਾਜ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ ਕਹਾ ਭੂਲ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥ ਚਿਤੰ ਚਿੱਤ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ ਪ੝ਨਰ ਦੋਸ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੬੪੧॥ सढ़नो राज नारी ॥ कहा भूल हमारी ॥ चितं चिढ़त कीजै ॥ पढ़नर दोस दीजै ॥६४१॥ O queen ! I have not committed a mistake in killing your husband, think rightly in your mind about it and the blame me.641.

ਮਿਲੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਸੀਤਾ ॥ ਚਲੈ ਧਰਮ ਗੀਤਾ ॥ ਪਠਿਯੋ ਪਉਨ ਪੂਤੰ ॥ ਹ੝ਤੋ ਅੱਗ੝ਰ ਦੂਤੰ ॥੬੪੨॥ मिलै मोहि सीता ॥ चलै धरम गीता ॥ पठियो पउन पूतं ॥ हढ़तो अगढ़र दूतं ॥६४२॥ I should get my Sita back, so that the work of righteousness may move forward;" (saying in this way) Ram sent Hanuman, she son of wind-god, like an envoy (in advance).642.

ਚਲਿਯੋ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥ ਸੀਆ ਸੋਧ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥ ਹ੝ਤੀ ਬਾਗ ਮਾਹੀ ॥ ਤਰੇ ਬ੝ਰਿਛ ਛਾਹੀ ॥੬੪੩॥ चलियो धाइ कै कै ॥ सीआ सोध लै कै ॥ हढ़ती बाग माही ॥ तरे बढ़रिछ छाही ॥६४३॥ Searching for Sita, he reached there, where she was sitting in the garden under a tree.643.

ਪਰਿਯੋ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਯੰ ॥ ਸ੝ਨੋ ਸੀਅ ਮਾਯੰ ॥ ਰਿਪੰ ਰਾਮ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ ਖਰੇ ਤੋਹਿ ਦ੝ਆਰੇ ॥੬੪੪॥ परियो जाइ पायं ॥ सढ़नो सीअ मायं ॥ रिपं राम मारे ॥ खरे तोहि दढ़आरे ॥६४४॥ Hanuman, falling at the feet of Sita, said, "O mother Sita ! Ram has killed the enemy (Ravana) and now he is standing at your door.644.

ਚਲੋ ਬੇਗ ਸੀਤਾ ॥ ਜਹਾ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਤਾ ॥ ਸਭੈ ਸੱਤ੝ਰ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ ਭੂਅੰ ਭਾਰ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੬੪੫॥ चलो बेग सीता ॥ जहा राम जीता ॥ सभै सढ़तढ़र मारे ॥ भूअं भार उतारे ॥६४५॥ O mother Sita ! go to the place of Ram quickly, where he has won and lightened the burden of the earth by killing all the enemie."645.

ਚਲੀ ਮੋਦ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥ ਹਨੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥ ਸੀਆ ਰਾਮ ਦੇਖੇ ॥ ਉਹੀ ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖੇ ॥੬੪੬॥ चली मोद कै कै ॥ हनू संगि लै कै ॥ सीआ राम देखे ॥ उही रूप लेखे ॥६४६॥ Being highly pleased Sita accompanied Hanuman, she saw Ram and found Ram retaining his precious beauty.646.

ਲਗੀ ਆਨਿ ਪਾਯੰ ॥ ਲਖੀ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਯੰ ॥ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਉਲ ਨੈਨੀ ॥ ਬਿਧ੝ੰ ਬਾਕ ਬੈਨੀ ॥੬੪੭॥ लगी आनि पायं ॥ लखी राम रायं ॥ कहियो कउल नैनी ॥ बिधढ़ं बाक बैनी ॥६४७॥ Sita fell at the feet of Ram who saw towards her and addressed to that lady of lotus eyes and sweet speech;647.

ਧਸੋ ਆਗਿ ਮੱਧੰ ॥ ਤਬੈ ਹੋਇ ਸ੝ੱਧੰ ॥ ਲਈ ਮਾਨ ਸੀਸੰ ॥ ਰਚਿਯੋ ਪਾਵਕੀਸੰ ॥੬੪੮॥ धसो आगि मढ़धं ॥ तबै होइ सढ़ढ़धं ॥ लई मान सीसं ॥ रचियो पावकीसं ॥६४८॥ O Sita ! enter the fire, so that you may become pure." She agreed and prepared a pyre of fire.648.

ਗਈ ਪੈਠਿ ਝਸੇ ॥ ਘਨੰ ਬਿੱਜ ਜੈਸੇ ॥ ਸ੝ਰ੝ਤੰ ਜੇਮ ਗੀਤਾ ॥ ਮਿਲੀ ਤੇਮ ਸੀਤਾ ॥੬੪੯॥ गई पैठि झसे ॥ घनं बिढ़ज जैसे ॥ सढ़रढ़तं जेम गीता ॥ मिली तेम सीता ॥६४९॥ She merged in the fire like the lightning seen in the clouds; she became one with fire like Gita with Shrutis (recorded texts).649.

ਧਸੀ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥ ਕਢੀ ਕ੝ੰਦਨ ਹ੝ਵੈ ਕੈ ॥ ਗਰੈ ਰਾਮ ਲਾਈ ॥ ਕਬੰ ਕ੝ਰਿਤ ਗਾਈ ॥੬੫੦॥ धसी जाइ कै कै ॥ कढी कढ़ंदन हढ़वै कै ॥ गरै राम लाई ॥ कबं कढ़रित गाई ॥६५०॥ She entered the fire and came out like pure gold; Ram hold her to his bosom and the poets sang in praise about this fact.650.

ਸਭੋ ਸਾਧ ਮਾਨੀ ॥ ਤਿਹੂੰ ਲੋਗ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ ਬਜੇ ਜੀਤ ਬਾਜੇ ॥ ਤਬੈ ਰਾਮ ਗਾਜੇ ॥੬੫੧॥ सभो साध मानी ॥ तिहूं लोग जानी ॥ बजे जीत बाजे ॥ तबै राम गाजे ॥६५१॥ All the saints accepted this type of fire-test and the beings of the three worlds accepted this fact; the musical instruments of victory were played and Ram also thundered in great joy.651.

ਲਈ ਜੀਤ ਸੀਤਾ ॥ ਮਹਾਂ ਸ੝ਭ੝ਰ ਗੀਤਾ ॥ ਸਭੈ ਦੇਵ ਹਰਖੇ ॥ ਨਭੰ ਪ੝ਹਪ ਬਰਖੇ ॥੬੫੨॥ लई जीत सीता ॥ महां सढ़भढ़र गीता ॥ सभै देव हरखे ॥ नभं पढ़हप बरखे ॥६५२॥ The pure SIta was conquered like a superbly auspicious song; all the gods began to shower flowers from the sky.652.
