Ragi or Kirtani: Literally one who plays Raag or kirtan. This is a term used to refer to the person who perform Kirtan - sings and/or plays a musical instrument while reciting or singing kirtan. In Sikhi it is the term used to refer to the player of kirtan in Gurdwaras and elsewhere. Live Kirtan is almost always played in the presence of the holy Guru Granth Sahib.

Ragi jatha refers to the "group" of the members performing Kirtan together as a team; it refers to the Ragi "band"!
