Dyal Singh, founder of the Radha Swamis

RADHASAMIS are not SIKHS

Radha Soami "Radhasoami" (also Radhasoami Satsang and Radha Swami) is a sect & spiritual movement, founded in 1861 by Shiv Dayal Singh Seth. It boasts a following of over two million people worldwide. He related the human soul to Radha whose goal was to merge with eternal reality (Soami), thus the name Radha Soami. As do the Hindus he preached vegetarianism and abstinance from intoxication.

Shiv Dyal Singh was never big on spreading his teaching or increasing his flock of devotees. He established his Satsang in Agra. In 1855 Dayal Singh had only a handful of followers. At the time of his death in 1878, it is thought that his following had grown to several thousand.

At his death he caused the same problems to his followers that Mohamet had caused the Muslims by naming no succesor. After infighting among the members of the Satsang his followers split into several camps. The split remains today with each group having slightly different teachings.

Jaimal Singh, the son of a Punjabi Sikh family was one of Soamiji's disciples. He established his satsang in 1891 on the banks of the River Beas. Today this Satsang is the largest and most sucessful of the Radhasoami satsangs. Known as Dera Baba Jaimal Singh it is the center of the Radhasoami sect in the Punjab. The group has centers around the world with one in Calfornia, US.

Jaimal Singh, second guru of the Radha Swamis

After Sawan Singh the sect divided into two Groups on successer issue. The new sect formed by Kirpal Singh is known as Sawan Kirpal Ruhani Mission. It is spread worldwide having branches in many countries.

The sect is faithful in using the Holy Book of the Sikh's the Guru Granth Sahib, but they have never tried to alter the proceedings or tenants of mainstream Sikhs and do not portray their leaders as sucessors to the 10 Gurus of the Sikhs. Today the Beas ashram maitains a Langar (free kitchen) and has lodgings for Sadhus, Sewadars, Satsangis and others.

The MSS Charitable hospital provides free medical care for the group's members and the needy and includes a serai(inn) for the free accommodation of relatives of their patients. An annual eye clinic gives medical aid to people suffering eye-ailments, including the removal of cataracts.

Radhaswamis are not Sikhs

These are the practices of Sikh religion not followed by Radhaswamis as,

  1. Difference in Naam simran,
  2. Difference in Naam Jap, Waheguru Gurmantra of Sikhs is not accepted by sect.
  3. Karah parsaad is not prepared by sect thus not distributed in disciples/sangat.
  4. No Kirpan Bhenta - Kirpaan or Sword is not offered to Karaah-parsaad as it is not prepered but in Sikh religion, No Karaah parsaad is distributed without offering the holy Kirpaan.
  5. Jo bole so nihaal-Sat siri akal, The Sikh battle cry is not in use at sect, they disallow it.
  6. Sikh when greet each other call by Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh !! whereas Radhaswami greets by calling ‘Radhaswamiji.' The difference in greeting too.
  7. No Kesri Nissan Sahib is furled in sect which is holy sign of Sikh Gurudwaras.
  8. Sikh Insignia (Khanda) :
Khanda is the emblem of the Sikh nation. It consists of two Kirpaans (the Sikh swords), one Khanda (double-edged sword) and one Chakkar (circle). The Sikhs have adopted it as an emblem of their royalty and nationality. The two swords represent spiritual and temporal sovereignty of the Sikh nation, the Chakkar symbolizes the wholeness of the universe as well as creation and the double-edged sword symbolizes initiation. Thus sovereignty, infinity and initiation are the three basic points of the Sikh national emblem. In sect , they do not have any insignia of their own.
  9. No free distribution of Langar- is served in community kitchen for the poors, needy and devotees as a mark to equality in disciples by sect. This tradition was started by Sikh Gurus which is in practice at every Gurudwara. Guru ji says "Jo kichu hai so tera."
  10. Recite of their own Baani (Kacchi Baani)in sect along with the pious Baani of Guru Granth Sahab ji, which is a disrespect to Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
  11. Amrit is not prepared and not used to baptize their disciples or followers by sect.
  12. The main tradition of Panj Pyare is not followed in sect.
  13. Use of Liquor and meat is prohibited but not the use of tobacco in followers by sect..
  14. One thing is found common in this sect like Nirankari mission that the disciples of the sect are advised to eat the leftover of their Guru, mixed in community kitchens(Bhandara), called Gur-parsaadi,Spit or tasted water etc, thrown out of mouth of Guru to be accepted cheerfully by disciple and to drink is considered nectar.
"Gur parsaadi khaah Tere bhale ki kahun.." (saar Bachan).
"Kiaa charnamrit layi prasaadi ! Haar charaa kar bandagi saadhi...... upto.......
"Kulli dayi suaami Kul mera udhara ! Janam safal aur tan man sudhara !" Page 779.
  15. No condition to recite Nitnem as they don’t have any such Baani to be recited, so camouflaging the followers to practice their own faith, along with their bestowed secret Naam , To whom they worship, what they worship other than Akal Purakh is best known to them because Sikhs have no living Guru.
  16. Five Kakars not important to them as anybody from any faith/religion could be a follower of their sect.
  17. Their ARDAS in sect is different than the Sikhs.
  18. They believe in living Guru and bow before him, whereas in Sikhism there is no living man called as Guru.
  19. How could Dasam Dwar be at third level as it is not a region but is a doorway to Sachkhand? As preached to misguide the followers of sect.

At last i would like to disclose a very important thing to all disciples of Radhaswami sect that when they can not recite any Baani of their own on death of somebody, to pray for the peace upon the dead soul. Their Gurus or administrators also need to bow before Guru Granth Sahab ji to perform last rites. How could they provide you anything during your life time. I mean, Are they in position to fulfil your wishes of money, son, a home or any other materialistic need which some one prays to almighty Waheguru? I have written some differences in Sikhs and Radhaswamis so how could they call them Sikhs- just by their appearance as Sikhs, dressed like Sikhs. Due to these resembles they can’t be called Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh ji says,"Rahat piaari mohe Sikh piaara naahe !! " Means The devotees who recite the name of Akal Purakh, Live in displine and follow the bindings to Sikh Rahat Maryada-Namm simran, Reading Gurbaani only , and strictly follow the restriction issued at the time of Baptization (Amrit chakna)in Sikhi (Khalsa). He is clear to his devotees that,"Jab eh gahe bipran ki reet Main na karon inki parteet !! " Means when the devotees shall go the other way, he will not be with them otherewise Guru is always with his Sikh.

  1. Radhaswami Never preaches Khalsa Tradition and Do not believe in philosphy of Khalsa.
  2. Radhaswami Give a secret name to people which they have to recite and that name should not tell to anyone which is opposite to Sikh philosphy. Think If Guru Nanak do So? As we all know that the organization has gurus which give naam to the people and people beg before them for naam. These gurus have more significance to such dera followers who call them sikhs and following the human guru.
  3. The Radha Soami dogma is one such prominently known way of life. The Sikh Gurus have conferred the gift of Gur Mantar and Mool Mantar to their Sikhs and have clearly ruled the following command:
ਆਪਿ ਜਪਹ੝ ਅਵਰਹ ਨਾਮ੝ ਜਪਾਵਹ੝ ॥
Chant the Naam yourself, and inspire others to chant it.

But yet many so-called 'Sikhs' can be seen begging for the 'Gupt-Mantar' at the door of Human 'Gurus'.

  1. Radhaswamis copies the content of different religions to attract people of different religions.
  2. Radhaswamis have their own meanings for Gurbani. they are great gurbani players.
  3. Radhaswamis have huge followers due to this governement also lick their feet just for votes.
  4. I met many radhaswami followers and maximum followers do not know who their guru is?

Book Called Janamsakhi

  • In their attempt to copy the Sikh history, these people have published the biography of Baba Teja Singh under the title of 'Janam Sakhi'. While many doctrines enlisted in this book are against the principals of Gurmat, the author has also published many statements in favor of the Radha Soami faith which are comparable to a Punjabi idiom that translates in English: "To throw an axe at your own foot". This faith promotes the Jain belief of adhering to total peace; but the Sikh Gurus rejected such tenets because they were not in line with their proposed life full of morale and esteem.

On page 62 of the Janam Sakhi published by 'Baba Teja Singh Radha Soami Trust', meanings of Gurbani are presented in a wrongful manner to prtray falseness. The page states that 'Hazoor Satguru' Teja Singh preached to Sangat that one can identify a person living in accordance with Gurbani if he eats and sleeps less, but and the biggest sign comes from that a person's excreta, instead of having a fecal odor woul have a fragrance! For the stool and urine to be free of odor is the biggest sign of an enlightened person. This teaching is further confirmed in Teja Singh's 'Janam Sakhi' through this passage: "… after that Bhagat Chanan Singh and Gyanni Ji secretly smelled Baba Teja Singh Ji's excreta (page 61-62). The bodily waste of Baba Teja Singh Ji had fragrance instead of odor and they accepted Baba Teja Singh as Puran Guru."

It is distressing to see Sikhs of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's "Nirmal Panth" following the fake human gurus. Such Sikhs who merely carry the image of the Sikh identity and use Singhs and Kaurs as their last name and turn their backs on Guru Sahib by joining faiths as the Radha Soami, are not worthy of being labeled as Sikhs of the Gurus.

Views of Different people

  • Giani Sant Singh Maskeen, a well known theologist, said many time in his preachings that "In 9 Realms of earth Guru nanak sowed the seed of sikhi but people today leaving his court moving towards deras like Radhaswami, Nirankari, Namdharis and he said the patit persons visit there deras regularly and this is shameful that such type of deras are in punjab where the sikhi seed was sowed firstly. Giani Sant Singh Maskeen call the Deras as " Manmat Dae addae".
  • (Lucky 15:53, 2 October 2009 (UTC)) : If you are a sikh and a true sikh then you will not go to any fake baba for any name you will only touch the feet of guru granth sahib. These babas are same like when baba makhan shah labana went and tried to find gurutegh bahadur in bakala and 22 manjis were before him. he moved toward gurus leaving those manjis behind, and when find guru he cried guru ladho re. and today guru is before you and people like maskeen ji, pinder pal singh etc are crying guru ladho re. but people are moving towards those manjis. so how can be you a sikh?

From Blogspot

Radhaswami sect was earlier started by an ex-communicated Sikh who was habitual of smoking Bidi’sHukka and other sort of tobbaco use, which is restricted in Sikh religion. They do not restrict smoking to their followers but use of other intoxications like use of liquor or eating meat is prohibited in their sect. It's mentioned in their holy book 'SAAR-BACHAN', by their first Guru Shiv Dayal Singh that, "Hukka bhar ke daasi liaayi, Radhasuami dhid baith pilaayi, Hukka haq haq boli bola. Baba jaimal Singh and Baba Sawan Singh of Beas were Sikhs, so his followers chant,"Satguru haq haq boli bola" in lieu of 'Hukaa haq haq boli bola'.'
