Maulvi Kutab Ud Din a scholar and teacher of Persian and algerbra. He is most remembered for his being the teacher of the religiously precocious child in the Punjabi village of Talwandi. Talwandi is now known as the birthplace of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak. The town is now named 'Nanaki Sahib' in tribute to its most famous citizen.

The young child who became Guru Nanak came to study Persian and algebra with the Maulvi.
