This is an India musical [[raga]] (composition) that appears in the [[Sikh]] tradition from northern [[India]] and is part of the Sikh holy scripture called [[Sri Guru Granth Sahib]] or [[SGGS]] for short. Every raga has a strict set of rules which govern the number of notes that can be used; which notes can be used; and their interplay that has to be adhered to for the composition of a tune.

Gaura is listed in the [[Ragmala]] as a putra (son) of Dipak, but not Mali Gaura. Currently classified under the Marva thata. Mali Gaura is performed in the evening at sunset. In recent years it is rarely heard in concert. [[Guru Ram Das]] and [[Guru Arjan]] composed to this raga 14 hymns included in the Holy Book.
Raag Mali Gaura (ਮਾਲੀ ਗਉੜਾ) Mali Gaura conveys the confidence of an expert, whose knowledge is self-evident in both their outlook and actions. This knowledge is learned through experience and therefore creates an air of ‘coolness’. However, this sense of ‘coolness’ is an aspect of true happiness because you have learned how to manage things with expertise and skill.
