Lanka is the inner side of person where he keep his all vices(Heart and Mind). These Vices are very strong that they do not let us to enter into realm of God. This Lanka is made of Golden means Maya. Our Attentions(Mann) is always in this type of Lanka. When a person get Ego/proud(Ravana), he lives in Lanka.

How Lanka is destroyed/ It is destroyed by Shabad Guru, it not only destroy Lanka of Ravana but also destroy the Orchid of Vices of Ravna. Bhagat Tilochan Described it in his bani (Dadhi le lank garh uparhile ravana ban)

Kabir also described qualities of Lanka that are:

A strong fort like Lanka and the moat of sea around it-— such an abode of Ravana is no more traceable. (Asa Kabir, p. 481)

The Fort of Lanka was made of gold; What did foolish Ravana take away with him ? (Bhairo Kabir, p. 1158)


Temporal Meaning

The island of Lanka as described in the Ramayana was very vast and a place of great magnificence. It had seven wide moats and seven walls of stone and metal. It was made of gold by Vishwakarma (the Vedic Architect of the Devtas). According to the Bhagavata Purana, this island was formerly the summit of Mount Meru, which was broken off by the wind-god and thrown into the sea.
