bahutaa karam likhi-aa naa jaa-ay.
His doings are beyond our written record.
vadaa daataa til na tamaa-ay.
The Great Giver does not hold anything back.
kaytay mangahi joDh apaar.
Where will the great warriors beg?
kayti-aa ganat nahee veechaar.
So many do not contemplate or dwell upon Him.
kaytay khap tutahi vaykaar.
How many in pain break and waste away?
kaytay lai lai mukar paahi.
How many keep taking over and over again, and then deny it?
kaytay moorakh khaahee khaahi.
How many fools keep continuously consuming?
kayti-aa dookh bhookh sad maar.
So many endure pain, deprivation and constant abuse.
ayhi bhe daat tayree daataar.
Even these are Your Gifts, Great Giver!
band khalaasee bhaanai ho-ay.
Liberation from bondage comes only by Your Will.
hor aakh na sakai ko-ay.
No one else has any say in this.
jay ko khaa-ik aakhan paa-ay.
If some fool should say otherwise,
oh jaanai jaytee-aa muhi khaa-ay.
he certainly will have to eat his words.
aapay jaanai aapay day-ay.
He Himself knows, He Himself gives.
aakhahi se bhe kay-ee kay-ay.
Few, very few acknowledge this.
jis no bakhsay sifat saalaah.
One, who is blessed to sing His Praises
naanak paatisaahee paatisaahu. 25
Nanak, is the king of kings. 25
