Guru Manyo Granth Jagriti Yatra reached Jammu during a heavy downpour, (a regular tufani barish), which did not dampen the enthusiasm of the crowds who had been waiting for weeks to see the Shastars and personal items of Guru Gobind Singh ji.

The 3 km long yatra which was scheduled to reach Jammu on 4th April at 04:00pm but reached at 06:00am on 5th April was delayed, by the heavy turnout of sikh sangat of Jammu and Kashmir, while the Yatra was enroute from Lakhanpur to Jammu.

The ‘Guru Manyo Granth Jagriti Yatra’, which remained Jammu for three days, received huge reception in the City and Gurudwaras by the people from all walks of life.

A sea of humanity was witnessed at Gurudwara Maharani Chand Kaur (Gumat) when the ‘Jagriti Yatra’ reached at 4.50 pm this afternoon and was kept for paying obeisance by the people.

The yatra carrying ‘Shastras’ of Guru Gobind Singh ji and sacred ‘Guru Granth Sahib ji’ started from Gurdwara Sant Mela Singh Dastkari Ashram (Digiana) , where it had reached last night from RS Pura, at 11.30 am. As a huge number of people had gathered enroute to receive the yatra and welcome it, it took the yatra to reach Maharani Chand Kour Samadh at Gumat nearly five and a half hours.

A large number of people had gathered at Maharani Chand Kour Samadh to receive the ‘Jagriti Yatra’. They paid obeisance to the yatra till 7 pm.

The function among others was also attended by Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha and Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
