ਆਦਿ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਲੇਖ ਅਨੰਤ ਅਕਾਲ ਅਭੇਖ ਅਲਖ ਅਨਾਸਾ ॥

Durga is a feminine sanskrit term which is made from two words DURG + GAH, means one who wins the fort. It is also called Chandi(Feminine), Durgshah(Masculine), Devi(Feminine), Devta(Masculine), Siva(Feminine), Raam(Masculine) etc. In Gurmat Philosphy, Durga is Mind which having no Vices inside and which have all weapons of Wisdom in hand. This Durga fights with different Deamons inside(with vices) and outside(with Manmukhs). Durga is a feminine letter, which means BUDDHI.

When a person becomes Gurmukh, and he have all type of Wisdom in his hand, such person is called Durga. As it's feminine word so it denotes Mind(Buddhi) of that person which have that wisdom.

Sant Jarnail Singh Ji did alot of Bhakti before embarking on the Dharamyudh morcha, Baba Deep Singh Ji Maharaj also did alot of Bhakti, there isnt a Mahapurakh who hasn't done Bhakti. You don't gain power without doing Bhakti, that's exactly what Guru Sahib was pointing out in his banis. The Daints do Bhakti to gain Shakti to overthrow the Devtas, when they gain raj they stop and start doing paap, while the Devtas do their Bhakti to gain their powers back or appeal to someone higher up for help.

No it's not "the facts" You're reading translations, tell me when Guru Sahib says I worship Ram, who's talking about? The all pervasive Lord or Ram Chandar Ji the avtar of Vishnu? You're fixating yourself on the body and the chand you again quoted, they translated Durga to mean Durga Devi, another arth of Durga is Durg meaning fort and Durga then meaning the unconquerable one (the unconquerable fort). Here's the bani from Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

ਤੂ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਹੀ ਆਦਿ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥ तू कहीअत ही आदि भवानी ॥ Ŧū kahī25ab.pngaṯ hī āḏ bẖavānī. You are called the Primal Goddess.

ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕੀ ਬਰੀਆ ਕਹਾ ਛਪਾਨੀ ॥੪॥ मुकति की बरीआ कहा छपानी ॥४॥ Mukaṯ kī barī25ab.pngā kahā cẖẖapānī. ||4|| At the time of liberation, where will you hide then? ||4||

Why would Guru Sahib tell his sikhs to focus on someone who can't even granth liberation? Here it is again.

ਦੁਰਗਾ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਰਦਨੁ ਕਰੈ ॥ दुरगा कोटि जा कै मरदनु करै ॥ Ḏurgā kot jā kai marḏan karai. Millions of Durga goddesses massage His Feet.

ਜਉ ਜਾਚਉ ਤਉ ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮ ॥ जउ जाचउ तउ केवल राम ॥ Ja25ab.pngo jācẖa25ab.pngo ṯa25ab.pngo keval rām. When I beg, I beg only from the Lord.

ਆਨ ਦੇਵ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ आन देव सिउ नाही काम ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ān ḏev si25ab.pngo nāhī kām. ||1|| rahā25ab.pngo. I have nothing to do with any other deities. ||1||Pause||

She's still considered a Devi, their strongest one by far. But she's still a lehar of Akaal Purakh's Shakti. If you want proof of this then again read Chandi Di Vaar. The first tukh is after Guru Sahib's eulogy is ਖੰਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਥਮਿ ਮਨਾਇਕੈ ਜਿਨ ਸਭ ਸੈਸਾਰ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ then in the same verse later on Guru Sahib says ਤੈ ਹੀ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਾਜਿ ਕੈ ਦੈਤਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ The FIRST thing that Akaal established is his Primal Power/Maya/Kaal etc and then he created the rest, Durga included. You can read more about this in Baba Teja Singh Mehron Wale Ji's teeka on Dasam Bani. The final Charitar 405 will shed light on it. Durga is considered a wave in the infinite majesty of Akaal Shakti, but Akaal Shakti's Sargun Saroop is always his Sword. Your doing the exact same tactics that missionary etc too. They read the word and attach it to the Devta, they do it with Chandi Charitar too.

She hasn't "earned" the right to be worshipped, if she's incapable of granting Mukhti then why would any Sikh want anything to do with her? The only person who "earned" the right to be worshipped was Vishnu Bhagwan. He did the proper aradhana and then begged Akaal Purakh Ji to allow people to woship him as God. Akaal Purakh Ji granted it. Even then Guru Sahib told his sikhs not to worship him

Here's katha by Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji

The poster was kind enough to shorten specific sections at the start but you can listen to the full one on here.

Sant Jarnail Singh Ji's katha too. I can post more katha too.

ਇਉਂ ਨਿਸਬਾਸਰ ਦੁਰਗੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਯੰ ॥

eiau(n) nisabaasar dhurage gun gaaya(n) || By daily chanting prayer of mother Durga, ਤਹਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਅਮਰ ਪਦ ਪਾਯੰ ॥

teh sahaje aTa'l amar padh paaya(n) ||

Eternal salvation is readily achieved

Attributes of Durga by Guru Gobind Singh

1) Formless : In begging of Chandi Charitar Guru Gobind SIngh defined Durga in his own style, which was not defined in any of hindu granths. The formless is one of feature among first eight features of Durga = Chandi.

2) Genderless : There is no Gender of Durga, generally Hindu people say it's Lady, a female. They made many serials which are shown on televisions in india. Mostly Sikhs adopted such face of Durga and these type of cunfusions create confusions among Sikhs splitting it in pro dasam people and anti dasam people. Basically They interpret Chandi with Hindu Dictionary. Chandi is not any lady

3) can't get through idols : No where in Durga vars it is written that one can attain Chandi or Durga through idols. Idols were made by Hindus and Pundits and weaken the real meaning of Durga which was again explained by 10th Guru. Sikhs are not bound to idols, moreover Durga is formless, how could we make it's idol.

4) No Birth No Death : If Durga was really some person than she must born or die. Like Ramchandra born and so was others and died too. But Durga never born and nor dies. It kills vices and just became invisible.,when negative power overcomes it again come. How?

Now let's go etymologycally

Kabir Said

ਕਿਉ ਲੀਜੈ ਗਢ੝ ਬੰਕਾ ਭਾਈ ॥
How can the beautiful fortress be conquered, O Siblings of Destiny?

ਦੋਵਰ ਕੋਟ ਅਰ੝ ਤੇਵਰ ਖਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
It has double walls and triple moats. ||1||Pause||

This is FORT descibed in Gurmat. Which a person have to conquer.

ਪਾਂਚ ਪਚੀਸ ਮੋਹ ਮਦ ਮਤਸਰ ਆਡੀ ਪਰਬਲ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
It is defended by the five elements, the twenty-five categories, attachment, pride, jealousy and the awesomely powerful Maya.

ਜਨ ਗਰੀਬ ਕੋ ਜੋਰ੝ ਨ ਪਹ੝ਚੈ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਉ ਰਘ੝ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
The poor mortal being does not have the strength to conquer it; what should I do now, O Lord? ||1||

Now this is Fort of Vices of Mann, how will one capture

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਅਰ੝ ਗ੝ਰ ਕੀ ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਕਰਿਓ ਗਢ ਕੋ ਰਾਜਾ ॥੫॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and by Guru's Grace, I have captured the king of the fortress. ||5||

and what's output

ਦਾਸ੝ ਕਮੀਰ੝ ਚੜ੝ਹ੝ਹਿਓ ਗੜ੝ਹ੝ਹ ਊਪਰਿ ਰਾਜ੝ ਲੀਓ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੬॥੯॥੧੭॥
Slave Kabeer has climbed to the top of the fortress; I have obtained the eternal, imperishable domain. ||6||9||17||

Now the one who wins the Fort of Vices(Mann) is DURGA.

In Sadhsangat when our mind(Buddhi) will learn about god, such Buddhi is called Durga. It's feminine word for Buddhi. Every person which attain that stage is called DURGA

EVERY DEVOTEE IS DURGA

KABIR WAS DURGA

NANAK WAS DURGA

DHANNA WAS DURGA

PRAHLAAD WAS DURGA

EVERY DEVOTEE IS DURGA

Nanak also said ਬਿਨ੝ ਪਉੜੀ ਗੜਿ ਕਿਉ ਚੜਉ ਗ੝ਰ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥ i.e How can I climb up to the Fortress without a ladder? By meditating on the Lord, through the Guru, I am blessed and exalted. ||2||. To Become Durga one have to Meditate upon lord.

guru ram dass explained ਇਸ੝ ਗੜ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਹੈ ਕਿਛ੝ ਸਾਦ੝ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਧੀਠਾ ॥
Within this body-fortress is the Lord, the Sovereign Lord King, but the stubborn ones do not find the taste.

guru arjun said ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਗੜ੝ ਜਿਤਾ ॥, They cross over the world-ocean, and conquer the fortress of corruption.
