Char Padarath (The Four Treasures) are needs of Soul. Gurbani contains information about soul and gives description how soul could liberate. In Gurmat, Four Treasures are described which a Gurmukh can understand by deep Insight. From Gurmat four types of Treasures or Padarath's are present for the soul.

Char padarath, je ko mange; char padarath, je ko mange
Sadh jana ki, seva lage; sadh jana ki, seva lage

In Gurmat, Four Padaraths are different those are:

  1. Gyan Padarath:(Teasure of Spiritual Knowledge)
  2. Mukat Padarath:(Treasure of Salvation)
  3. Janam Padarath:(Treasure of Rebirth)
  4. Naam Padarath:(Treasure of Divine Wisdom)

There are other blessings to which was defined by manmukhs or common people who did not have understanding of soul. They described those Padaraths which are not inline with Gurmat at all. So that is not padaraths by Gurmukhs but Manmukhs

  1. Dharam - Discipline. Understanding of his or her duties i.e virtues(Ethics)
  2. Arath - Assets. he or she has no shortage of money, precious metals, pearls etc & has obtained the desired wealth. What is relation of money and religion? It's padarath of Manmukh
  3. Kaam - Desire. His or her all desired gets fulfilled from marriage to children.

Where desires are, there no Salvation is, so this is not accepted in Gurmat. It's padarath of Manmukh

  1. Moksh - Liberation. He or she attains emancipation.
