Bhai Manak Chand was the brother of Guru Amar Das, the third Sikh Guru and Bhai Ishar Das. He was also the father-in-law of Bibi Amro, the daughter of the second Sikh Guru, Guru Angad and uncle of Bhai Jasoo. Bhai Ishar Das was the father of the Chief Academic of the Sikhs, Bhai Gurdas.
