ਅਥ ਰਾਜ ਸਾਜ ਕਥਨੰ ॥ अथ राज साज कथनं ॥ Here begins the Description of the Magnificence of Authority:

ਚੌਪਈ ॥ चौपई ॥ CHAUPAI

ਰਾਜ ਸਾਜ ਹਮ ਪਰ ਜਬ ਆਯੋ ॥ ਜਥਾ ਸਕਤਿ ਤਬ ਧਰਮ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥ राज साज हम पर जब आयो ॥ जथा सकति तब धरम चलायो ॥ When I obtained the position of responsibility, I performed the religious acts to the best of my ability.

ਭਾਂਤਿ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਨਿ ਖੇਲ ਸਿਕਾਰਾ ॥ ਮਾਰੇ ਰੀਛ ਰੋਝ ਝੰਖਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ भांति भांति बनि खेल सिकारा ॥ मारे रीछ रोझ झंखारा ॥१॥ I went hunting various kinds of animals in the forest and killed bears, nilgais (blue bulls) and elks.1.

ਦੇਸ ਚਾਲ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਪ੝ਨਿ ਭਈ ॥ ਸਹਰ ਪਾਂਵਟਾ ਕੀ ਸ੝ਧਿ ਲਈ ॥ देस चाल हम ते पढ़नि भई ॥ सहर पांवटा की सढ़धि लई ॥ Then I left my home and went to place named Paonta.

ਕਾਲਿੰਦ੝ਰੀ ਤਟਿ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ॥ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤ ਕੇ ਪੇਖਿ ਤਮਾਸਾ ॥੨॥ कालिंदढ़री तटि करे बिलासा ॥ अनिक भांत के पेखि तमासा ॥२॥ I enjoyed my stay on the banks of Kalindri (Yamuna) and saw amusement of various kind2.

ਤਹ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਘਨੇ ਚ੝ਨਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ ਰੋਝ ਰੀਛ ਬਹ੝ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥ तह के सिंघ घने चढ़नि मारे ॥ रोझ रीछ बहढ़ भांति बिदारे ॥ There I killed may lions, nilgais and bears.

ਫਤੇਸਾਹ ਕੋਪਾ ਤਬਿ ਰਾਜਾ ॥ ਲੋਹ ਪਰਾ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਬਿਨ੝ ਕਾਜਾ ॥੩॥ फतेसाह कोपा तबि राजा ॥ लोह परा हम सो बिनढ़ काजा ॥३॥ On this the king Fateh Shah become angry and fought with me without any reason.3.

ਭ੝ਜੰਗ ਪ੝ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥ भढ़जंग पढ़रयात छंद ॥ BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA

ਤਹਾਂ ਸਾਹ ਸ੝ਰੀਸਾਹ ਸੰਗ੝ਰਾਮ ਕੋਪੇ ॥ ਪੰਚੋ ਬੀਰ ਬੰਕੇ ਪ੝ਰਿਥੀ ਪਾਇ ਰੋਪੇ ॥ तहां साह सढ़रीसाह संगढ़राम कोपे ॥ पंचो बीर बंके पढ़रिथी पाइ रोपे ॥ There Sri Shah (Sango Shah) become enraged and all the five warriors stood firmly in the battlefield.

ਹਠੀ ਜੀਤਮੱਲੰ ਸ੝ ਗਾਜੀ ਗ੝ਲਾਬੰ ॥ ਰਣੰ ਦੇਖੀਝ ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪੰ ਸਹਾਬੰ ॥੪॥ हठी जीतमढ़लं सढ़ गाजी गढ़लाबं ॥ रणं देखीझ रंग रूपं सहाबं ॥४॥ Including the tenacious Jit Mal and the desparate hero Gulab, whose faces were red with ire, in the field.4.

ਹਠਿਯੋ ਮਾਹਰੀਚੰਦਯੰ ਗੰਗਰਾਮੰ ॥ ਜਿਨੈ ਕਿਤੀਯੰ ਜਿਤੀਯੰ ਫੌਜ ਤਾਮੰ ॥ हठियो माहरीचंदयं गंगरामं ॥ जिनै कितीयं जितीयं फौज तामं ॥ The persistent Mahari Chand and Ganga Ram, who had defeated lot of forces.

ਕ੝ਪੇ ਲਾਲਚੰਦੰ ਕੀਝ ਲਾਲ ਰੂਪੰ ॥ ਜਿਨੈ ਗੱਜੀਯੰ ਗਰਬ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਨੂਪੰ ॥੫॥ कढ़पे लालचंदं कीझ लाल रूपं ॥ जिनै गढ़जीयं गरब सिंघ अनूपं ॥५॥ Lal Chand was red with anger, who had shattered pride of several lion-like heroes.5.

ਕ੝ਪਿਯੋ ਮਾਹਰੂ ਕਾਹਰੂ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ ਜਿਨੈ ਖਾਨ ਖਾਵੀਨਿਯੰ ਖੇਤ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ कढ़पियो माहरू काहरू रूप धारे ॥ जिनै खान खावीनियं खेत मारे ॥ Maharu got enraged and with frightening expression killed brave Khans in the battlefield.

ਕ੝ਪਿਓ ਦੇਵਤੇਸੰ ਦਯਾਰਾਮ ਜ੝ੱਧੰ ॥ ਕੀਯੋ ਦ੝ਰੋਣ ਕੀ ਜਿਉ ਮਹਾ ਜ੝ੱਧ ਸ੝ੱਧੰ ॥੬॥ कढ़पिओ देवतेसं दयाराम जढ़ढ़धं ॥ कीयो दढ़रोण की जिउ महा जढ़ढ़ध सढ़ढ़धं ॥६॥ The godly Daya Ram, filled with great ire, fought very heroically in the field like Dronacharya.6.

ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕੋਪਿਯੰ ਕ੝ਤਕੋ ਸੰਭਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਠੀ ਖਾਨ ਹਯਾਤ ਕੇ ਸੀਸ ਝਾਰੀ ॥ कढ़रिपाल कोपियं कढ़तको सढ़मभारी ॥ हठी खान हयात के सीस झारी ॥ Kirpal in rage, rushed with his mace and struck it on the head of the tenacious Hayaat Khan.

ਉੱਠੀ ਛਿਛਿ ਇਛੰ ਕਢਾ ਮੇਝ ਜੋਰੰ ॥ ਮਨੋ ਮਾਖਨੰ ਮਟਕੀ ਕਾਨ੝ਹ ਫੋਰੰ ॥੭॥ उठी छिछि इछं कढा मेझ जोरं ॥ मनो माखनं मटकी कानढ़ह फोरं ॥७॥ With all his might, he caused the marrow flow out of his head, which splashed like the butter spattering out of the pitcher of butter broken by lord Krishan.7.

ਤਹਾ ਨੰਦ ਚੰਦੰ ਕੀਯੋ ਕੋਪ੝ ਭਾਰੋ ॥ ਲਗਾਈ ਬਰਛੀ ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾਣੰ ਸੰਭਾਰੋ ॥ तहा नंद चंदं कीयो कोपढ़ भारो ॥ लगाई बरछी कढ़रिपाणं सढ़मभारो ॥ Then Namd Chand, in fierce rage, wielding his sword struck it with force.

ਤ੝ਟੀ ਤੇਗ ਤ੝ਰਿਖੀ ਕਢੇ ਜਮਦਢੰ ॥ ਹਠੀ ਰਾਖਯੰ ਲਜ ਬੰਸੰ ਸਨਢੰ ॥੮॥ तढ़टी तेग तढ़रिखी कढे जमदढं ॥ हठी राखयं लज बंसं सनढं ॥८॥ But it broke. Then he drew his dagger and the tenacious warrior saved the honour of the Sodhi clan.8.

ਤਹਾਂ ਮਾਤਲੇਯੰ ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾਲੰ ਕ੝ਰ੝ਧੰ ॥ ਛਕਿਓ ਛੋਭ ਛਤ੝ਰੀ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਜ੝ਧ ਸ੝ਧੰ ॥ तहां मातलेयं कढ़रिपालं कढ़रढ़धं ॥ छकिओ छोभ छतढ़री करियो जढ़ध सढ़धं ॥ Then the Maternal uncle Kirpal, in great ire, manifested the war-feats like a true Kshatriya.

ਸਹੇ ਦੇਹ ਆਪੰ ਮਹਾਬੀਰ ਬਾਣੰ ॥ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਖਾਨ ਬਾਨੀਨ ਖਾਲੀ ਪਲਾਣੰ ॥੯॥ सहे देह आपं महाबीर बाणं ॥ करियो खान बानीन खाली पलाणं ॥९॥ The great hero was struck by an arrow, but he caused the brave Khan to fall from the saddle.9.

ਹਠਿਯੋ ਸਾਹਬੰ ਚੰਦ ਖੇਤੰ ਖਤ੝ਰੀਯਾਣੰ ॥ ਹਨੇ ਖਾਨ ਖੂਨੀ ਖ੝ਰਾਸਾਨ ਭਾਨੰ ॥ हठियो साहबं चंद खेतं खतढ़रीयाणं ॥ हने खान खूनी खढ़रासान भानं ॥ Sahib Chand, the valiant Kshatriya, killed a bloody Khan of Khorasan.

ਤਹਾਂ ਬੀਰ ਬੰਕੇ ਭਲੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ ਬਚੇ ਪ੝ਰਾਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੦॥ तहां बीर बंके भली भांति मारे ॥ बचे पढ़रान लै के सिपाही सिधारे ॥१०॥ He slew several graceful warriors, with full force; the soldiers who survived, fled away in order to save their lives.10.

ਤਹਾਂ ਸਾਹ ਸੰਗ੝ਰਾਮ ਕੀਨੇ ਅਖਾਰੇ ॥ ਘਨੇ ਖੇਤ ਮੋ ਖਾਨ ਖੂਨੀ ਲਤਾਰੇ ॥ तहां साह संगढ़राम कीने अखारे ॥ घने खेत मो खान खूनी लतारे ॥ There (Sango) Shah exhibited his acts of bravery in the battlefield and trampled under feet many bloody Khans.

ਨ੝ਰਿਪੰ ਗੋਪਾਲਯੰ ਖਰੋ ਖੇਤ ਗਾਜੈ ॥ ਮ੝ਰਿਗਾ ਝ੝ੰਡ ਮਧਿਯੰ ਮਨੋ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜੈ ॥੧੧॥ नढ़रिपं गोपालयं खरो खेत गाजै ॥ मढ़रिगा झढ़ंड मधियं मनो सिंघ राजै ॥११॥ Gopal, the king of Guleria, stood firmly in the field and roared like a lion amidst a herd of deers.11.

ਤਹਾਂ ਝਕ ਬੀਰੰ ਹਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਕੋਪਯੋ ॥ ਭਲੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਸੋ ਖੇਤ ਮੋ ਪਾਵ ਰੋਪਯੋ ॥ तहां झक बीरं हरी चंद कोपयो ॥ भली भांति सो खेत मो पाव रोपयो ॥ There in great fury, a warrior Hari Chand, very skillfully took position in the battlefield.

ਮਹਾ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਤੀਰ ਤੀਖੇ ਪ੝ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥ ਲਗੈ ਜੌਨਿ ਕੇ ਤਾਹਿ ਪਾਰੇ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੨॥ महा कढ़रोध कै तीर तीखे पढ़रहारे ॥ लगै जौनि के ताहि पारे पधारे ॥१२॥ He discharged sharp arrows in great rage and whosoever was struck, left for the other world.12.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥ रसावल छंद ॥ RASAAVAL STANZA

ਹਰੀਚੰਦ ਕਰ੝ਧੰ ॥ ਹਨੇ ਸੂਰ ਸ੝ਧੰ ॥ हरीचंद करढ़धं ॥ हने सूर सढ़धं ॥ Hari Chand (Handooria) in great fury, killed significant heroes.

ਭਲੇ ਬਾਣ ਬਾਹੇ ॥ ਬਡੇ ਸੈਨ ਗਾਹੇ ॥੧੩॥ भले बाण बाहे ॥ बडे सैन गाहे ॥१३॥ He shot skillfully a volley of arrows and killed a lot of forces.13.

ਰਸੰ ਰ੝ਦ੝ਰ ਰਾਚੇ ॥ ਮਹਾ ਲੋਹ ਮਾਚੇ ॥ रसं रढ़दढ़र राचे ॥ महा लोह माचे ॥ He was absorbed in dreadful feat of arms.

ਹਨੇ ਸਸਤ੝ਰ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਲਿਟੇ ਭੂਪ ਭਾਰੀ ॥੧੪॥ हने ससतढ़र धारी ॥ लिटे भूप भारी ॥१४॥ Armed warriors were being killed and great kings were falling on the ground.14.

ਤਬੈ ਜੀਤਮੱਲੰ ॥ ਹਰੀਚੰਦ ਭਲੰ ॥ ਹ੝ਰਿਦੈ ਝਂਚ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥ ਸ੝ ਖੇਤ ਉਤਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫॥ तबै जीतमढ़लं ॥ हरीचंद भलं ॥ हढ़रिदै झंच मारिओ ॥ सढ़ खेत उतारिओ ॥१५॥ Then Jit Mal aimed and struck Hari Chand down to the ground with his spear.15.

ਲਗੇ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਣੰ ॥ ਰਿਸਿਯੋ ਤੇਜਿ ਮਾਣੰ ॥ लगे बीर बाणं ॥ रिसियो तेजि माणं ॥ The warriors struck with arrows became red with blood.

ਸਮ੝ਹ ਬਾਜ ਡਾਰੇ ॥ ਸ੝ਵਰਗੰ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੬॥ समढ़ह बाज डारे ॥ सढ़वरगं सिधारे ॥१६॥ Their horses feel and they left for heavens.16.

ਭ੝ਜੰਗ ਪ੝ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥ भढ़जंग पढ़रयात छंद ॥ BHUJANG PRAYAAAT STANZA

ਖ੝ਲੈ ਖਾਨ ਖੂਨੀ ਖ੝ਰਾਸਾਨ ਖਗੰ ॥ ਪਰੀ ਸਸਤ੝ਰ ਧਾਰੰ ਉਠੀ ਝਾਲ ਅਗੰ ॥ खढ़लै खान खूनी खढ़रासान खगं ॥ परी ससतढ़र धारं उठी झाल अगं ॥ In the hands of blood-thirsty Khans, there were the Khorasan swords, whose sharp edges flashed like fire.

ਭਈ ਤੀਰ ਭੀਰੰ ਕਮਾਣੰ ਕੜਕੇ ॥ ਗਿਰੇ ਬਾਜ ਤਾਜੀ ਲਗੇ ਧੀਰ ਧਕੇ ॥੧੭॥ भई तीर भीरं कमाणं कड़के ॥ गिरे बाज ताजी लगे धीर धके ॥१७॥ The bows shooing out volleys of arrows twanged, the splendid horses fell because of the heavy blows.17.

ਬਜੀ ਭੇਰਿ ਭ੝ੰਕਾਰ ਧ੝ਕੇ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥ ਦ੝ਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੰਕੇ ਬਕਾਰੇ ॥ बजी भेरि भढ़ंकार धढ़के नगारे ॥ दढ़हूं ओर ते बीर बंके बकारे ॥ The trumpets sounded and the musical pipes were played, the brave warriors thundered from both sides.

ਕਰੇ ਬਾਹ੝ ਆਘਾਤ ਸਸਤ੝ਰੰ ਪ੝ਰਹਾਰੰ ॥ ਡਕੀ ਡਾਕਣੀ ਚਾਂਵਡੀ ਚੀਤਕਾਰੰ ॥੧੮॥ करे बाहढ़ आघात ससतढ़रं पढ़रहारं ॥ डकी डाकणी चांवडी चीतकारं ॥१८॥ And with their strong arms struck (the enemy), the witches drank blood to their fill and produced dreadful sounds.18.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ दोहरा ॥ DOHRA

ਕਹਾ ਲਗੇ ਬਰਨਨ ਕਰੋਂ ਮਚਿਯੋ ਜ੝ਧ੝ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ कहा लगे बरनन करों मचियो जढ़धढ़ अपार ॥ How far should I describe the great battle?

ਜੇ ਲ੝ਝੇ ਜ੝ਝੇ ਸਬੈ ਭਜੇ ਸੂਰ ਹਜਾਰ ॥੧੯॥ जे लढ़झे जढ़झे सबै भजे सूर हजार ॥१९॥ Those fought attained martyrdom, thousand fled away. 19.

ਭ੝ਜੰਗ ਪ੝ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥ भढ़जंग पढ़रयात छंद ॥ BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA

ਭਜਿਯੋ ਸਾਹ ਪਹਾੜ ਤਾਜੀ ਤ੝ਰਿਪਾਯੰ ॥ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਬੀਰੀਯਾ ਤੀਰੀਯਾ ਨ ਚਲਾਯੰ ॥ भजियो साह पहाड़ ताजी तढ़रिपायं ॥ चलियो बीरीया तीरीया न चलायं ॥ The hill-chief spurred his horse and fled, the warriors went away without discharging their arrows.

ਜਸੋ ਡੱਢਵਾਲੰ ਮਧ੝ਕਰ ਸ੝ ਸਾਹੰ ॥ ਭਜੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ੝ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਿਪਾਹੰ ॥੨੦॥ जसो डढ़ढवालं मधढ़कर सढ़ साहं ॥ भजे संगि लै के सढ़ सारी सिपाहं ॥२०॥ The chiefs of Jaswal and Dadhwal, who were fighting (in the field), left with all their soldiers.20.

ਚਿਕ੝ਰਤ ਚੋਪਿਯੋ ਚੰਦ ਗਾਜੀ ਚੰਦੇਲੰ ॥ ਹਠੀ ਹਰੀਚੰਦੰ ਗਹੇ ਹਾਥ ਸੇਲੰ ॥ चिकढ़रत चोपियो चंद गाजी चंदेलं ॥ हठी हरीचंदं गहे हाथ सेलं ॥ The Raja of Chandel was perplexed, when the tenacious Hari Chand caught hold of the spear in his hand.

ਕਰਿਓ ਸ੝ਆਮਿ ਧਰਮੰ ਮਹਾ ਰੋਸ ਰਝਿਯੰ ॥ ਗਿਰਿਓ ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕ ਹ੝ਵੈ ਇਸੋ ਸੂਰ ਜ੝ਝਿਯੰ ॥੨੧॥ करिओ सढ़आमि धरमं महा रोस रझियं ॥ गिरिओ टूक टूक हढ़वै इसो सूर जढ़झियं ॥२१॥ He was filled with great fury, fulfilling his duty as a general; those who came in front of him, were cut into pieces nad fell (in the field).21.

ਤਹਾ ਖਾਨ ਨੈਜਾਬਤੋ ਆਨ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥ ਹਨਿਓ ਸਾਹ ਸੰਗ੝ਰਾਮ ਕੌ ਸਸਤ੝ਰ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥ तहा खान नैजाबतो आन कै कै ॥ हनिओ साह संगढ़राम कौ ससतढ़र लै कै ॥ Then Najabat Khan came forward and struck Sango Shah with his weapons.

ਕਿਤੈ ਖਾਨ ਬਾਨੀਨ ਹੂੰ ਅਸਤ੝ਰ ਝਾਰੇ ॥ ਸਹੀ ਸਾਹ ਸੰਗ੝ਰਾਮ ਸ੝ਰਗੰ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੨੨॥ कितै खान बानीन हूं असतढ़र झारे ॥ सही साह संगढ़राम सढ़रगं सिधारे ॥२२॥ Several skillful Khans fell on him with their arms and sent Shah Sangram to heaven.22.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ दोहरा ॥ DOHRA

ਮਾਰਿ ਨਜਾਬਤ ਖਾਨ ਕੋ ਸੰਗੋ ਜ੝ਝੈ ਜ੝ਝਾਰ ॥ मारि नजाबत खान को संगो जढ़झै जढ़झार ॥ The brave warrior Sago Shah fell down after killing Najbat Khan.

ਹਾ ਹਾ ਇਹ ਲੋਕੈ ਭਇਓ ਸ੝ਰਗ ਲੋਕ ਜੈਕਾਰ ॥੨੩॥ हा हा इह लोकै भइओ सढ़रग लोक जैकार ॥२३॥ There were lamentations in his world and rejoicing in heaven.23.

ਭ੝ਜੰਗ ਪ੝ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥ भढ़जंग पढ़रयात छंद ॥ BHUJANG STANZA

ਲਖੇ ਸਾਹ ਸੰਗ੝ਰਾਮ ਜ੝ਝੇ ਜ੝ਝਾਰੰ ॥ ਤਵੰ ਕੀਟ ਬਾਣੰ ਕਮਾਣੰ ਸੰਭਾਰੰ ॥ लखे साह संगढ़राम जढ़झे जढ़झारं ॥ तवं कीट बाणं कमाणं सढ़मभारं ॥ When this lowly person saw Shah Sangram falling (while fighting bravely) he held aloft his bow and arrows.

ਹਨਿਯੋ ਝਕ ਖਾਨੰ ਖਿਆਲੰ ਖਤੰਗੰ ॥ ਡਸਿਯੋ ਸਤ੝ਰ੝ ਕੋ ਜਾਨ੝ ਸਯਾਮੰ ਭ੝ਜੰਗੰ ॥੨੪॥ हनियो झक खानं खिआलं खतंगं ॥ डसियो सतढ़रढ़ को जानढ़ सयामं भढ़जंगं ॥२४॥ He, fixing his gaze on a Khan, shot an arrow, which stung the enemy like a black cobra, who (the Khan) fell down.24.

ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਭੂਮ ਸੋ ਬਾਣ ਦੂਜੋ ਸੰਭਾਰਯੋ ॥ ਮ੝ਖੰ ਭੀਖਨੰ ਖਾਨ ਕੇ ਤਾਨਿ ਮਾਰਯੋ ॥ गिरियो भूम सो बाण दूजो सढ़मभारयो ॥ मढ़खं भीखनं खान के तानि मारयो ॥ He drew out another arrow and aimed and shot it on the face of Bhikhan Khan.

ਭਜਿਯੋ ਖਾਨ ਖੂਨੀ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਖੇਤਿ ਤਾਜੀ ॥ ਤਜੇ ਪ੝ਰਾਣ ਤੀਜੇ ਲਗੇ ਬਾਣ ਬਾਜੀ ॥੨੫॥ भजियो खान खूनी रहियो खेति ताजी ॥ तजे पढ़राण तीजे लगे बाण बाजी ॥२५॥ The bloody Khan fled away leaving his horse in the field, who was killed with the third arrow.25.

ਛ੝ਟੀ ਮੂਰਛਨਾ ਹਰੀਚੰਦੰ ਸੰਭਾਰੇ ॥ ਗਹੇ ਬਾਣ ਕਾਮਾਨ ਭੇ ਝਂਚ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ छढ़टी मूरछना हरीचंदं सढ़मभारे ॥ गहे बाण कामान भे झंच मारे ॥ After regaining consciousness from the swoon, Hari Chand shot his arrows with unerring aim.

ਲਗੇ ਅੰਗ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰਹੇ ਨਾ ਸੰਭਾਰੰ ॥ ਤਨੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਤੇ ਦੇਵਲੋਕੰ ਪਧਾਰੰ ॥੨੬॥ लगे अंग जा के रहे ना सढ़मभारं ॥ तनं तिआग ते देवलोकं पधारं ॥२६॥ Whosoever was struck, fell down unconscious, and leaving his body, went to the heavenly abode.26.

ਦ੝ਯੰ ਬਾਨ ਖੈਂਚੇ ਇਕੰ ਬਾਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ ਬਲੀ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਜੀਨ ਤਾਜੀ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥ दढ़यं बान खैंचे इकं बारि मारे ॥ बली बीर बाजीन ताजी बिदारे ॥ He aimed and shot two arrows at the same time and did not care for the selection of his target.

ਜਿਸੈ ਬਾਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਸੰਭਾਰੰ ॥ ਤਨੰ ਬੇਧਿ ਕੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਪਾਰੰ ਸਿਧਾਰੰ ॥੨੭॥ जिसै बान लागै रहै न सढ़मभारं ॥ तनं बेधि कै ताहि पारं सिधारं ॥२७॥ Whosoever was struck and pierced by his arrow, went straight to the other world.27.

ਸਭੈ ਸ੝ਵਾਮ ਧਰਮੰ ਸ੝ ਬੀਰੰ ਸੰਭਾਰੇ ॥ ਡਕੀ ਡਾਕਣੀ ਭੂਤ ਪ੝ਰੇਤੰ ਬਕਾਰੇ ॥ सभै सढ़वाम धरमं सढ़ बीरं सढ़मभारे ॥ डकी डाकणी भूत पढ़रेतं बकारे ॥ The warriors remained true to their duty in the field, the witches and ghosts drank blood to their fill and raised shrill voices.

ਹਸੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਾਲ ਔ ਸ੝ੱਧ ਸਿੱਧੰ ॥ ਚਵੀ ਚਾਵਡੀਯੰ ਉਡੀ ਗਿਧ ਬ੝ਰਿਧੰ ॥੨੮॥ हसे बीर बैताल औ सढ़ढ़ध सिढ़धं ॥ चवी चावडीयं उडी गिध बढ़रिधं ॥२८॥ The Birs (heroic spirits), Baitals (ghosts) and Siddhs (adepts) laughed, the witches were talking and huge kites were flying (for meat).28.

ਹਰੀਚੰਦ ਕੋਪੇ ਕਮਾਣੰ ਸੰਭਾਰੰ ॥ ਪ੝ਰਥਮ ਬਾਜੀਯੰ ਤਾਣ ਬਾਣੰ ਪ੝ਰਹਾਰੰ ॥ हरीचंद कोपे कमाणं सढ़मभारं ॥ पढ़रथम बाजीयं ताण बाणं पढ़रहारं ॥ Hari Chand, filled with rage, drew out his bow, he aimed and shot his arrow, which struck my horse.

ਦ੝ਤੀਯ ਤਾਕ ਕੈ ਤੀਰ ਮੋ ਕੌ ਚਲਾਯੰ ॥ ਰਖਿਓ ਦਈਵ ਮੈ ਕਾਨ ਛ੝ਵੈ ਕੈ ਸਿਧਾਯੰ ॥੨੯॥ दढ़तीय ताक कै तीर मो कौ चलायं ॥ रखिओ दईव मै कान छढ़वै कै सिधायं ॥२९॥ He aimed and shot the second arrow towards me, the Lord protected me, his arrow only grazed my ear. 29.

ਤ੝ਰਿਤੀਯ ਬਾਣ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਸ੝ ਪੇਟੀ ਮਝਾਰੰ ॥ ਬਿਧਿਅੰ ਚਿਲਕਤੰ ਦ੝ਆਲ ਪਾਰੰ ਪਧਾਰੰ ॥ तढ़रितीय बाण मारियो सढ़ पेटी मझारं ॥ बिधिअं चिलकतं दढ़आल पारं पधारं ॥ His third arrow penetrated deep into the buckle of my waist-belt.

ਚ੝ਭੀ ਚਿੰਚ ਚਰਮੰ ਕਛੂ ਘਾਇ ਨ ਆਯੰ ॥ ਕਲੰ ਕੇਵਲੰ ਜਾਨ ਦਾਸੰ ਬਚਾਯੰ ॥੩੦॥ चढ़भी चिंच चरमं कछू घाइ न आयं ॥ कलं केवलं जान दासं बचायं ॥३०॥ Its edge touched the body, but did not caused a wound, the Lord saved his servent.30.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥ रसावल छंद ॥ RASAAVAL STANZA

ਜਬੈ ਬਾਣ ਲਾਗਯੋ ॥ ਤਬੈ ਰੋਸ ਜਾਗਯੋ ॥ जबै बाण लागयो ॥ तबै रोस जागयो ॥ When the edge of the arrow touched my body, it kindled my resentment.

ਕਰੰ ਲੈ ਕਮਾਣੰ ॥ ਹਨੰ ਬਾਣ ਤਾਣੰ ॥੩੧॥ करं लै कमाणं ॥ हनं बाण ताणं ॥३१॥ I took the bow in my hand and aimed and shot the arrow.31.

ਸਬੈ ਬੀਰ ਧਾਝ ਸਰੋਘੰ ਚਲਾਝ ॥ सबै बीर धाझ सरोघं चलाझ ॥ All the warriors fled, when a volley of arrow was showered.

ਤਬੈ ਤਾਕਿ ਬਾਣੰ ॥ ਹਨਯੋ ਝਕ ਜ੝ਆਣੰ ॥੩੨॥ तबै ताकि बाणं ॥ हनयो झक जढ़आणं ॥३२॥ Then I aimed the arrow on a warrior and killed him.32.

ਹਰੀਚੰਦ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ ਸ੝ ਜੋਧਾ ਲਤਾਰੇ ॥ हरीचंद मारे ॥ सढ़ जोधा लतारे ॥ Hari Chand was killed and his brave soldiers were trampled.

ਸ੝ ਕਾਰੋੜ ਰਾਯੰ ॥ ਵਹੈ ਕਾਲ ਘਾਯੰ ॥੩੩॥ सढ़ कारोड़ रायं ॥ वहै काल घायं ॥३३॥ The chief of Kot Lehar was seized by death.33.

ਰਣੰ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਭਾਗੇ ॥ ਸਬੈ ਤ੝ਰਾਸ ਪਾਗੇ ॥ रणं तिआगि भागे ॥ सबै तढ़रास पागे ॥ The hill-men fled from the battlefield, all were filled with fear.

ਭਈ ਜੀਤ ਮੋਰੀ ॥ ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾ ਕਾਲ ਕੇਰੀ ॥੩੪॥ भई जीत मोरी ॥ कढ़रिपा काल केरी ॥३४॥ I gained victory through the favour of the Eternal Lord (KAL).34.

ਰਣੰ ਜੀਤਿ ਆਝ ॥ ਜਯੰ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਝ ॥ रणं जीति आझ ॥ जयं गीत गाझ ॥ We returned after victory and sang songs of triumph.

ਧਨੰ ਧਾਰ ਬਰਖੇ ॥ ਸਬੈ ਸੂਰ ਹਰਖੇ ॥੩੫॥ धनं धार बरखे ॥ सबै सूर हरखे ॥३५॥ I showered wealth on the warriors, who were full of rejoicings.35.

ਜ੝ਧ ਜੀਤ ਆਝ ਜਬੈ ਟਿਕੈ ਨ ਤਿਨ ਪ੝ਰ ਪਾਂਵ ॥ जढ़ध जीत आझ जबै टिकै न तिन पढ़र पांव ॥ When I returned after victory, I did not remain at Paonta.

ਕਾਹਲੂਰ ਮੈਂ ਬਾਂਧਿਯੋ ਆਨ ਆਨੰਦਪ੝ਰ ਗਾਂਵ ॥੩੬॥ काहलूर मैं बांधियो आन आनंदपढ़र गांव ॥३६॥ I came to Kahlur and established the village Anandpur.36.

ਜੇ ਜੇ ਨਰ ਤਹ ਨ ਭਿਰੇ ਦੀਨੇ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਕਾਰ ॥ जे जे नर तह न भिरे दीने नगर निकार ॥ Those, who did not join the forces, were turned out from the town.

ਜੇ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਭਲੇ ਭਿਰੇ ਤਿਨੈ ਕਰੀ ਪ੝ਰਤਿਪਾਰ ॥੩੭॥ जे तिह ठउर भले भिरे तिनै करी पढ़रतिपार ॥३७॥ And those who fought bravely were patronized by me 37.

ਬਹ੝ਤ ਦਿਵਸ ਇਹ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਿਤਾਝ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਿ ਦ੝ਸਟ ਸਭ ਘਾਝ ॥ बहढ़त दिवस इह भांति बिताझ ॥ संत उबारि दढ़सट सभ घाझ ॥ Many days passed in this way, he saints were protected and the wicked persons were killed.

ਟਾਂਗ ਟਾਂਗ ਕਰਿ ਹਨੇ ਨਿਦਾਨਾ ॥ ਕੂਕਰ ਜਿਮਿ ਤਿਨ ਤਜੇ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥੩੮॥ टांग टांग करि हने निदाना ॥ कूकर जिमि तिन तजे पराना ॥३८॥ The tyrants were hanged ultimately killed, they breathed their last like dogs.38.
