| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾ ਕਰਮਾਤਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤਠੈ ਜੋ ਮਿਲੈ ॥੧॥

| Nĝnak sĝ karmĝṯ sĝhib ṯuṯẖai jo milai. ॥1॥
|
| O Nanak, that is the most wonderful gift, which is received from the Lord, when He is totally pleased. ॥1॥
|

| Second Mehl:
|
| ਝਹ ਕਿਨੇਹੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਜਿਤ ਭਉ ਖਸਮ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Ėh kinehī cẖĝkrī jiṯ bẖa▫o kẖasam na jĝ▫e.
|
| What sort of service is this, by which the fear of the Lord Master does not depart?
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਾਢੀਝ ਜਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਖਸਮ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
|
| Nĝnak sevak kĝdẖī▫ai jė seṯī kẖasam samĝ▫e. ॥2॥
|
| O Nanak, he alone is called a servant, who merges with the Lord Master. ॥2॥
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਜਾਪਨਹਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ॥
|
| Nĝnak anṯ na jĝpnĥī har ṯĝ ke pĝrĝvĝr.
|
| O Nanak, the Lord's limits cannot be known; He has no end or limitation.
|
| ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਝ ਸਾਖਤੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਝ ਮਾਰ ॥
|
| Āp karĝ▫e sĝkẖ▫ṯī fir ĝp karĝ▫e mĝr.
|
| He Himself creates, and then He Himself destroys.
|
| ਇਕਨਹਹਾ ਗਲੀ ਜੰਜੀਰੀਆ ਇਕਿ ਤਰੀ ਚੜਹਿ ਬਿਸੀਆਰ ॥
|
| Iknĥĝ galī janjīrī▫ĝ ik ṯurī cẖaṛėh bisī▫ĝr.
|
| Some have chains around their necks, while some ride on many horses.
|
| ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਝ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਿ ਹਉ ਕੈ ਸਿਉ ਕਰੀ ਪਕਾਰ ॥
|
| Āp karĝ▫e kare ĝp ha▫o kai si▫o karī pukĝr.
|
| He Himself acts, and He Himself causes us to act. Unto whom should I complain?
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰ ॥੨੩॥
|
| Nĝnak karṇĝ jin kī▫ĝ fir ṯis hī karṇī sĝr. ॥23॥
|
| O Nanak, the One who created the creation - He Himself takes care of it. ॥23॥
|

| Shalok, First Mehl:
|
| ਆਪੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਸਾਜਿਅਨ ਆਪੇ ਪੂਰਣ ਦੇਇ ॥
|
| Āpe bẖĝʼnde sĝji▫an ĝpe pūraṇ ḝe▫e.
|
| He Himself fashioned the vessel of the body, and He Himself fills it.
|
| ਇਕਨਹਹੀ ਦਧ ਸਮਾਈਝ ਇਕਿ ਚਲਹਹੈ ਰਹਨਹਹਿ ਚੜੇ ॥
|
| Iknĥī ḝuḝẖ samĝ▫ī▫ai ik cẖulĥai rėhniĥ cẖaṛe.
|
| Into some, milk is poured, while others remain on the fire.
|
| ਇਕਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ਪੈ ਸਵਨਹਹਿ ਇਕਿ ਉਪਰਿ ਰਹਨਿ ਖੜੇ ॥
|
| Ik nihĝlī pai savniĥ ik upar rahan kẖaṛe.
|
| Some lie down and sleep on soft beds, while others remain watchful.
|
| ਤਿਨਹਹਾ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਨਹਹ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥੧॥
|
| Ŧinĥĝ savĝre nĝnkĝ jinĥ ka▫o naḝar kare. ॥1॥
|
| He adorns those, O Nanak, upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace. ॥1॥
|

|
| Second Mehl:
|
| ਆਪੇ ਸਾਜੇ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਿ ਜਾਈ ਭਿ ਰਖੈ ਆਪਿ ॥
|
| Āpe sĝje kare ĝp jĝ▫ī bẖė rakẖai ĝp.
|
| He Himself creates and fashions the world, and He Himself keeps it in order.
|
| ਤਿਸ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਦੇਖੈ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਿ ॥
|
| Ŧis vicẖ janṯ upĝ▫e kai ḝekẖai thĝp uthĝp.
|
| Having created the beings within it, He oversees their birth and death.
|
| ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਹੀਝ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਭ ਕਿਛ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ॥੨॥
|
| Kis no kahī▫ai nĝnkĝ sabẖ kicẖẖ ĝpe ĝp. ॥2॥
|
| Unto whom should we speak, O Nanak, when He Himself is all-in-all? ॥2॥
|
| ਵਡੇ ਕੀਆ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਕਿਛ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਹਣ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| vade kī▫ĝ vaḝi▫ĝ▫ī▫ĝ kicẖẖ kahṇĝ kahaṇ na jĝ▫e.
|
| The description of the greatness of the Great Lord cannot be described.
|
| ਸੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਾਦਰ ਕਰੀਮ ਦੇ ਜੀਆ ਰਿਜਕ ਸੰਬਾਹਿ ॥
|
| So karṯĝ kĝḝar karīm ḝe jī▫ĝ rijak sambĝhi.
|
| He is the Creator, all-lowerful and benevolent; He gives sustenance to all beings.
|
| ਸਾਈ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਧਰਿ ਛੋਡੀ ਤਿੰਨੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
|
| Sĝ▫ī kĝr kamĝvṇī ḝẖur cẖẖodī ṯinnai pĝ▫e.
|
| The mortal does that work, which has been pre-destined from the very beginning.
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਝਕੀ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
|
| Nĝnak ekī bĝhrī hor ḝūjī nĝhī jĝ▫e.
|
| O Nanak, except for the One Lord, there is no other place at all.
|
| ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨੪॥੧॥ ਸਧ
|
| So kare jė ṯisai rajĝ▫e. ॥24॥1॥ suḝẖu
|
| He does whatever He wills. ॥24॥1॥ Sudh
