Granth in Punjabi refers to a Book. The most famous Granth for the Sikhs is their perpetual living Guru, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib or SGGS for short. For most people the SGGS is a Holy Book, but for the Sikhs it’s a lot more than just sacred text. The SGGS is the current Guru or Spiritual Guide for the followers of this religion. This Granth is given the same respect and honor that a living Guru would have.
