Charitar 198 is a story, present in which happens in everyday life. It is about gestures and everyday life. We have often seen that youth use to speak lie, when they have to go for some deed which is against will of parents. This charitar somewhat depicts that situation of everyday life, which guides to become CHAUKAS = ATARAK, councious everytime and to care of your's property.


ਚੌਪਈ ॥
Chaupaee

ਸੰਖ ਕ੝ਅਰ ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿਕ ਭਨਿਜੈ ॥ ਝਕ ਰਾਵ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਰਹਿਜੈ ॥
There was one damsel who was known as Sankh Kunwar; she used to revel with one Raja.

ਝਕ ਬੋਲਿ ਤਬ ਸਖੀ ਪਠਾਈ ॥ ਸੋਤ ਨਾਥ ਸੋ ਜਾਤ ਜਗਾਈ ॥੧॥
He sent his maid who awoke her up while she was sleeping with her husband.(1)

ਤਾਹਿ ਜਗਾਤ ਨਾਥ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਗਿਯੋ ॥ ਪੂਛਨ ਤਵਨ ਦੂਤਿਯਹਿ ਲਾਗਿਯੋ ॥
With her, her husband roused up and questioned the maid,

ਯਾਹਿ ਜਾਤ ਲੈ ਕਹਾ ਜਗਾਈ ॥ ਤਬ ਤਿਨ ਯੌ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਥ ਜਤਾਈ ॥੨॥
‘What purpose you have woken us up,’ then she stated like this,(2)

ਮੋਰੇ ਨਾਥ ਜਨਾਨੇ ਗਝ ॥ ਚੌਕੀ ਹਿਤਹਿ ਬ੝ਲਾਵਤ ਭਝ ॥
‘My husband has gone to the female chamber to act as the watchman.

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਲੈਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਈ ॥ ਸੋ ਤ੝ਮ ਸੌ ਮੈ ਭਾਖਿ ਸ੝ਨਾਈ ॥੩॥
‘Being alone, I have come to call her and this is true.’(3)

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
Dohira

ਸੋਤ ਜਗਾਯੋ ਨਾਥ ਤਿਹ ਭ੝ਜ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨ ॥
She had awakened the woman and her husband had got up too.

ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਯੋ ਨ੝ਰਿਪਤ ਸੌ ਸਕਿਯੋ ਨ ਜੜ ਕਛ੝ ਚੀਨ ॥੪॥
With excuse she made the woman (Sankh) to meet the Raja but the fool (her husband) could not detect.(4)(1)
