Brahmgyan

Brahmgyan is an objective of of Sikh to follow Sikhism, which literally means the wisdom of Soul.

The soul who has Brahm Gyan is called Brahmgyani; have the supreme state.

Bhagat Kabir explaining Brahmgyan

(ਪੰਨਾ 1373, ਸਤਰ 17,ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ) ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਭਇਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ कबीर मनु सीतलु भइआ पाइआ ब्रहम गिआनु ॥ Kabīr man sīṯal bẖa▫i▫ā pā▫i▫ā barahm gi▫ān. Kabeer, my mind is cooled and soothed; I have become God-conscious. ਜਿਨਿ ਜੁਆਲਾ ਜਗੁ ਜਾਰਿਆ ਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਉਦਕ ਸਮਾਨਿ ॥੧੭੫॥ जिनि जुआला जगु जारिआ सु जन के उदक समानि ॥१७५॥ Jin ju▫ālā jag jāri▫ā so jan ke uḏak samān. ||175|| The fire which has burnt the world is like water to the Lord's humble servant. ||175||

(ਪੰਨਾ 1159, ਸਤਰ 15, ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ) ਨਿਜ ਪਦ ਊਪਰਿ ਲਾਗੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ निज पद ऊपरि लागो धिआनु ॥ Nij paḏ ūpar lāgo ḏẖi▫ān. I focus my meditation on my inner self, deep within. ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੋਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ राजा राम नामु मोरा ब्रहम गिआनु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Rājā rām nām morā barahm gi▫ān. ||1|| rahā▫o. The Name of the Sovereign Lord is my spiritual wisdom. ||1||Pause||

(ਪੰਨਾ 344, ਸਤਰ 7, ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ) ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਕਾ ਧਰਹੁ ਧਿਆਨ ॥ सत संतोख का धरहु धिआन ॥ Saṯ sanṯokẖ kā ḏẖarahu ḏẖi▫ān. Center yourself and meditate on truth and contentment. ਕਥਨੀ ਕਥੀਐ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ ॥੧੫॥ कथनी कथीऐ ब्रहम गिआन ॥१५॥ Kathnī kathī▫ai barahm gi▫ān. ||15|| Speak the speech of God's spiritual wisdom. ||15||

(ਪੰਨਾ 482, ਸਤਰ 3, ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ) ਮੇਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਏ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਭਤਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ मेरे ग्रिह आए राजा राम भतारा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Mere garih ā▫e rājā rām bẖaṯārā. ||1|| rahā▫o. The Lord, my King, has come to my house as my Husband. ||1||Pause|| ਨਾਭਿ ਕਮਲ ਮਹਿ ਬੇਦੀ ਰਚਿ ਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥ नाभि कमल महि बेदी रचि ले ब्रहम गिआन उचारा ॥ Nābẖ kamal mėh beḏī racẖ le barahm gi▫ān ucẖārā. Within the lotus of my heart, I have made my bridal pavilion, and I have spoken the wisdom of God.

Mahalla 1 explaining Brahm Gyan

(ਪੰਨਾ 1329, ਸਤਰ 7) ਪੰਚ ਤਸਕਰ ਧਾਵਤ ਰਾਖੇ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ पंच तसकर धावत राखे चूका मनि अभिमानु ॥ Pancẖ ṯaskar ḏẖāvaṯ rākẖe cẖūkā man abẖimān. The five wandering thieves are captured and held, and the egotistical pride of the mind is subdued. ਦਿਸਟਿ ਬਿਕਾਰੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਾਗੀ ਐਸਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੨॥ दिसटि बिकारी दुरमति भागी ऐसा ब्रहम गिआनु ॥२॥ Ḏisat bikārī ḏurmaṯ bẖāgī aisā barahm gi▫ān. ||2|| Visions of corruption, vice and evil-mindedness run away. Such is the spiritual wisdom of God. ||2|

Mahala 5 explaining Brahm Gyan

(ਪੰਨਾ 1226, ਸਤਰ 3, ਮਃ 5) ਜਤ ਕਤਾ ਤਤ ਪੇਖੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਤਿ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥ जत कता तत पेखीऐ हरि पुरख पति परधान ॥ Jaṯ kaṯā ṯaṯ pekẖī▫ai har purakẖ paṯ parḏẖān. Wherever I look, I see the Lord, the Supreme Lord, the Primal Being. ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਮਿਟੇ ਕਥੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ ॥੨॥੧॥੪॥ साधसंगि भ्रम भै मिटे कथे नानक ब्रहम गिआन ॥२॥१॥४॥ Sāḏẖsang bẖaram bẖai mite kathe Nānak barahm gi▫ān. ||2||1||4|| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, doubt and fear are dispelled. Nanak speaks the Wisdom of God. ||2||1||4||

(ਪੰਨਾ 1322, ਸਤਰ 6, ਮਃ 5) ਪੋਥੀ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਕਾ ਥਾਨੁ ॥ पोथी परमेसर का थानु ॥ Pothī parmesar kā thān. This Holy Book is the home of the Transcendent Lord God. ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ साधसंगि गावहि गुण गोबिंद पूरन ब्रहम गिआनु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Sāḏẖsang gāvahi guṇ gobinḏ pūran barahm gi▫ān. ||1|| rahā▫o. Whoever sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, has the perfect knowledge of God. ||1||Pause||
