Bhatt Nalh was a Gurmukh Brahmin whose pious hymns are present in Adi Granth Sahib or the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He studied the Bani of Guru Ram Dass Ji and followed it. He wrote 16 Savaiyays in the Praise of God and Admired Guru Ram Dass Ji. He introduced two chands- one was Jholna and the other was Radd.

According to scholars, the style of this poet is absolutely parallel to Bhatt Kalh. In certain cases, the use of images and metaphors is the same. For instance, he has called Guru Ramdas Ji as Janak, also mentioned earlier by Bhatt Kalh. The vocabulary and meters are also similar. However, the speciality of this poet is that he introduced two new Chhands called Jhoolna and Radd. As in the case of Bhatt Kalshar, we stated that this group of eleven (11 Bhatts) came to the congregation of Guru Arjun Dev Ji. This historical fact was confirmed by Bhatt Nalh. He says that after touching the sacred feet of Guru Arjun Dev Ji, a sense of solemnity, peace, and serenity prevailed upon him.
