Bhai Singaru (pronounce ‘Singaaroo’) Ji and Bhai Jaita Ji were fearless great warriors. They were Sikhs of the fifth Guru, Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji. They used to visit Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji. Once Sri Guru Ji said to both of them, “I will use weapons, when I transform myself into the sixth Guru. It is time of Kaliyuga. I will fight against enemies and punish them using weapons in battles”. Guru Ji said further, “I will take care of my Sikhs. They will enjoy worldly pleasures in this world and will achieve salvation when they die”.

Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji ordered Bhai Jaita Ji and Bhai Singaru Ji to stay with the next Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and said, “Join Guru Hargobind and fight the tyrants". Both the warriors obeyed Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji and started to live with Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, who was appointed the sixth Guru by Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji. Bhai Singaru Ji and Bhai Jaita Ji continued to practice their Shastrastra Vidya.

Many years after the martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji, his son and the sixth Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib fought four battles against the rulers, who attacked him on different places. Being trusted men and fearless warriors, Bhai Jaita Ji and Bhai Singaru took part in battles and fought for their Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, who won all the battles.
