Akara
akara or ankar ( ਅਕਾਰ ) is a Punjabi word which means 'shape' or 'form'. It is commonly used as a suffix as in "Nirankar". This word has two roots - 'nir' which means 'without' and 'ankar' as above; so together 'Nirankar' ( ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ) means 'without form' or 'formless'.
