Hello, Sat Sri Akal, W.K.W.F, Nihang Ji! A very warm, belated welcome from Sikhiwiki and many thanks for your contributions so far. I am sorry that we got wrong-footed at the start but I am most grateful to you for amending the articles to show their origin and in so doing you have not only enhanced SikhiWiki but you have also paid tribute to the originating site. This is service to the Guru. "The truthful Sikhs sit by the True Guru's side and serve Him. The false ones search, but find no place of rest." (p305)

I hope you will keep visiting this website and that you will help us enlarge it by checking it, amending it, by adding to it, by discussing issues on the discussion pages, etc. Please feel free to add to or amend any of the topics that you have knowledge about. Don't worry about making mistakes, as these can be easily corrected.

With Waheguru's kirpa, may you always remain in Chardi kala. Many thanks, Hari Singh 08:37, 30 March 2007 (MDT)

Please observe the rules for this site - If you feel that an article infringes copyright, you must enter a remark to that effect on the article page. A SikhiWiki Sewadar will then deal with the matter. You must not change the article in any way until the matter has been dealt with by the Sewadar.

In your remark please leave the following details:

  • Your name and email address
  • The part of the article that infringes the alleged copyright
  • The original site of the material with a precise url
  • The details of the author of that site with his or her name and email address
  • If you are not the author, an authorisation from the author giving you irrevocable authority to deal with this matter.
  • Why you believe that the material is subject to copyright if it is a site promoting Sikhism (just as SikhiWiki)?
  • Why you feel that we cannot use that material for educational purposes on SikhiWiki?

You will appreciate that if we allow practise of the nature undertaken by you, this site would be prone to constant vandalism and interference.

Please observe these rules otherwise we will have no alternative but to debar you permanently from this site. The sole purpose of this site is to promote Sikhi principles, values and practices. Das, Hari Singh 15:46, 29 March 2007 (MDT)

I am still working on the articles. Please wait until I have finished before you continue making remarks about these articles. A few of the original articles are unrelated to Sikhism and I will delete those completely; others are of very marginal use and may be left out. I am also consulting my legal advisor Mr Anup Singh and Judge Mota Singh regarding the exact concept of copyright law in the UK. All these articles are now being dealt with by me here in the UK. To save time, please cut out the long chain and communicate directly with me. Thanks --Hari Singh 21:04, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

Changes to Various Articles re Alleged Copyright violation

Teja Singh ji, Waheguru ki ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh

Firstly, das is truly grateful to you and the site Sarbloh for your time and patience in helping us in tackling this issue which has not previously been addressed by us.

Secondly, my thanks to you for your email showing 4 links to your articles at Sarbloh where you say there has been copyright violation. As you are aware, about 46 articles were initially deleted pending a fuller investigation. I would appreciate a fuller list of these links so that we can better appreciate your concerns.

I am slowly in the process of going through all these deleted articles and to review them and see if there is any similarity between your articles and these deleted ones. You will understand that when I carried out my own check using the Google search engine, no match was produced with your site. This is unusually and I was wondering why this is the case? I would appreciate your help in understand this so that we do not have to go through a similar exercise in future. You will know that Wikipedia recommends the same test to look for possible copyright infringements.

I have now made various changes to about 7 articles and would appreciate your help in reviewing these articles to see if you are now satisfied with the contents of these articles and/or agree that they do not infringe your copyright or that you are now satisfied to let us use these as they stand. If not, please post a short message on the discussion page and I will deal with your queries and apprehensions.

Please also consult with the page SikhiWiki:Copyright violation which deals further with this issue as I understand it.

I thank you in advance for your time and effort in clarifying this matter and your patience in helping us resolving this very important issue. Again, I am grateful to you for your time and patience in dealing with this difficult issue. das, Hari Singh 08:21, 4 April 2007 (EDT)
