Talk:India, shame on you!

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I don't know where this article has come from, no date applied, 'the current government condemned', one section, most likely written in the anger of the days after such inhumanity, shows no compassion for the Hindus who risked death to save Sikhs during the attacks, the writer links all Hindus, as he says all Sikhs were linked (and blamed), he has no compassion himself, condemning all Hindus, hatred will never cure hatred. There is little of Guru Nanak or Guru Gobind Singh and their teachings in the section. I suggest a stronger headline dating the article. Allenwalla 04:57, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

As to the difference between the american vs. indian response, americans a the time knew little of the middle east. I had one student from Palestine and knew one local palestinian who dressed like anyone in america, so their was no way to know a palestinian from any other american. We all grew up with Danny Thomas on the tv and knew Lebanese and liked them. Though Israelis had been kidnapped to Entebbe, the Munich slaughter had not happened and the the Palestinian hijackings were yet to happen, even Yasir Arafat in his US army fatigues could only be identified by his kefiyah (Arab Scarf), the same style my student from Palestine's family sent to me- a gift I still cherish, though wearing it is now associated with the terrorists use of it.

Even today in Dir, an area Guru Nanak could have tredd, one can note that the villagers who just attacked the taliban who had sent a bomber into a local Masjid killing many men, women and children during Jumu'ah salat (ref a photo in today's Dawn news) do not wear the black turbans of most taliban. Though their turbans are different from the turbans of Sikhs (often black/Akali?) it has been unfortunately a distinction that several uninformed (crazy?) americans were unaware of, which lead to the deaths and woundings of many innocent Sikhs.

Unfortunately some of the Hindutva groups of SS type radicals were up to the same sort of tactics of the Nazis, and the killing of Mrs Gandhi, by her trusted bodyguards gave them an excuse to carry out a modern version of 'Krystal nacht", fortunately Indian put and end (all to slow) to this and did not allow this to continue. Sad that the guilty have escaped punishment. Allenwalla 21:23, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
