SikhiWiki:Rating Articles

Some of SikhiWiki's articles aren't getting much attention from the editors. So we have to divide the articles into some classes. The lowest will be stub-class, and will need most attention and the highest will be a FA (Featured Article) will need no or little attention.

FA

Featured articles are considered to be the best articles in SikhiWiki, as determined by SikhiWiki's editors. Before being listed here, articles are reviewed at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates for accuracy, neutrality, completeness, and style according to our featured article criteria.

At present, there are 0 featured articles, of a total of 0 articles on SikhiWiki. Thus, about one in x articles is listed here. Articles that no longer meet the criteria can be proposed for improvement or removal at SikhiWiki: articles review.

GA

Good articles are articles which are considered to be of good quality but which are not yet, or are unlikely to reach featured article quality. Good articles should meet the good article criteria and have passed through the good article nomination process successfully. In short, they should be well written, factually accurate and verifiable, broad in coverage, neutral in point of view, stable, and illustrated, where possible, by relevant images with suitable copyright licenses. Good articles need not be as comprehensive as featured articles, but they should not omit any major facets of the topic: a comparison of the criteria for good and featured articles describes further differences.

B

Quite good, nonetheless, it has some gaps or missing elements or references, needs editing for language usage or clarity, balance of content, or contains other policy problems such as copyright, etc.

Start

The article has a meaningful amount of good content, but it is still weak in many areas, and may lack a key element. For example an article on Africa might cover the geography well, but be weak on history and culture. Has at least one serious element of gathered materials, including any one of the following:

  • a particularly useful picture or graphic
  • multiple links that help explain or illustrate the topic
  • a subheading that fully treats an element of the topic
  • multiple subheadings that indicate material that could be added to complete the article

Stub Class

A stub is an article containing only a few sentences of text which is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject, but not so short as to provide no useful information. Sizable articles are usually not considered stubs, even if they lack SikhiWikification or copy editing. With these articles, a cleanup template is usually added instead of a stub template. Note that if a small article has little properly sourced information, or if its subject has no inherent notability, it may be deleted or be merged into another relevant article

Currently, of the x SikhiWiki articles, x are listed below as good articles (about 1 in x), and x are listed as featured articles (about 1 in x). Articles are not included on both lists, so when a good article is promoted to featured article status, it is removed from the good articles list.
