Punjab State Carrom Association (PSCA) was formed in 1997 in the Northern Indian state of Punjab. This association is one of the latest associations of India. It is affiliated with all India Carrom Federation. It is headquartered in Mohali Punjab. Gurinder Singh, who played in national tournaments and work for Haryana carrom association was allotted as general secretary for both the Punjab State Carrom Association and the North Indian zone.

Works and achievements

• Punjab State carrom Association had organised two states championship, one with Fategarh Sahib district carrom association at Sirhind in august 2000 and other with Amritsar district carrom association at Khadoor Sahib in 2002. Gurinder singh (general secretary) plays main role in said tournaments. These two states are organised and finished successfully and lot of people started showing interest in carrom, through this work.

• Punjab state carrom association also organize XXX senior national and inter-state carrom championships, jointly with Chandigarh Carrom Association, at Jallandhar (Punjab), under auspices of all India Carrom federation, on September 2nd to 7th, 2000. Here Shri Gurinder Singh played the role as Deputy Championship Director and played a huge role. This was also a great success for punjab state carrom association. 25 states and 13 institutions participated in said tournament. Krishnan K. Sharma (President,(ICF)), Sarabjit Singh (President(AICF)), S.K Sharma (General Secretary (AICF)) & many others congratulated Punjab state carrom association and Chandigarh carrom association to jointly undertake the said prestigious event.

• Punjab State carrom association also helped in markfed tournaments held in punjab. In these tournaments there are many games played including carrom also.

• Recently Punjab State Carrom Association Conducted VII North zone carrom championship at Vir Hakikat Rai Public school Patiala. The players who secure top position will go on to play Zonal national tournament. 6 teams from north zone participated in said tournament.

Some Exceptional players

Shabaz Habib -

A player from Sangrur district. He was the runner up in first Punjab State Carrom Championship and also first in second Punjab State Carrom Championship.

Shamim Ahmed -

Another player from Sangrur] district who stood second runner up in first Punjab state carrom Championship.

Harpreet Singh Ghotra -

A player from Ropar district. Stood first in the first Punjab state carrom championship & runner up in second Punjab state carrom championship. He also got a scholarship from sports authority of India. He is the administrator of PSCA site http://www.psca.ca.pn/

Heena Habib -

A player from Sangrur. Stood first in all events in first and second punjab state carrom championship. One of the best women players in north zone. She got 3rd rank in north zone championship recently held at Patiala

Reeta Rani -

A player from Amritsar. She was runner up in second Punjab state carrom championship, and stood sixth in the youth competition in the national tournament at Alibagh (Maharashtra)

Kanwar Sudeep Singh Sandhu -

also called "caandusaab". He is player which got 4th ranking in second Punjab state championship and got 6th rank in fourth north zone carrom championship at patiala.

Shubh deep Singh Sandhu-

He got 7th position in above said championship at patiala and is also an exceptional player from Punjab.

Amarpreet Singh Johal-

He is one from a group of exceptionally good and emerging players.

As carrom starts from C you have to play it with C too!, i.e control, coordination and concentration. Carrom is not only a bedroom game this is an international game as many countries are in this game. Authorities are trying to take this game to Asian as well as Olympics Games. Lets take this game of mind to new heights.
