Jagraon is a city in Ludhiana district of Punjab. Located almost in the dead center of Punjab, the city is more than five centuries old. The city, which may have originally been called "Jagar aon" (a place of abundant water) is only 16km from the River Sutlege. Gurdwara Mehdiana Sahib (known for its unique depiction of scenes from Sikh history, especially life sized statues depicting some of the atrocities committed on Sikhs the Mugals) is located nearby. Gurudwara Nanaksar, built as a memorial for Saint Baba Nand Singh is also located in Jagraon.

Jagraon is also the home of Late Lala Lajpat Rai, a well-known figure in the Indian Independence movement, whose death was a catalyst in the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Lajpat Rai's home is now a municipal library.
