When Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was coming from Khivan Kalan on his way to Bhikhi, he was informed that Sikhs from Peshawar and Kabul were coming to meet him. Guruji stopped under the van tree at the place, which marks the site of the Gurdwara. Mats were spread out to receive the sangat. The Sikhs arrived singing holy hymns, bowed before the Guru and received his blessings. A peasant ploughing his field nearby struck by the sense of pious devotion went to Guruji and placed humbly before him his simple food of bread and buttermilk. The Guru took some of the food and shared the rest with the Sikh sangat. Guruji blessed the peasant with the words Milk shall always abound in thy house. A memorial shrine was constructed under the Van tree where the Guru sat. The main annual functions are Prakash Divas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Shahidi Gurpurab of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
