Gurudwara Damdama Sahib (Nanded)
- Basmat nagar bilok bisala. Tis ke nikat sivar ko ghala.
- Aath divas teh ko makamu. Sangat ko pikheh tamamu.

Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji, Bearer of the Kalgi (a plumed Turban ornament) and the lord of both the worlds left the Punjab on his way to visit with Sangats in the south of India. Traveling with an entourage of Sikhs he reached Rajasthan, after passing through Nagpur, Burhanpur, Akola, Amrawati and Hingoli. When he reached the Deccan (the South) in 1708 he set up camp in Basmat Nagar.
The beauty peace and tranquility of Basmat compelled guruji to stay at Basmat for eight days, enjoying the natural beauty of flower gardens and fruit orchards that so enraptured the Guru. Hearing of Guruji's visit, the sangat soon came from, both near and far. This chance to see the Tenth Patshah, to have darshan and the blessings of their Guru, a visit they had waited so long for, saw many bringing large donations for his Darbar.
After camping at this sacred site for eight days, Guruji headed for Nanded where today our historical Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar sahib still stands as testimony of guruji's visit to the Deccan. In memory of his sojourn Gurudwara Damdama Sahib has also been built in Basmat nagar.
