Enlightened Sikh speaks in Federal Ministry BMZ (GERMANY)

“Religion matters! In dialogue with religious representatives.” That is the name of the new series of discussions, during which the German Federal Ministry BMZ invites representatives of various world religions to discuss the potential of religion for sustainable development and peace. In the first discussion forum, Dharam Singh Nihang Singh, one of the most learned men of the Sikh religion, was invited. The Sikh religion was formed in the 15th century and is a monotheistic religion. Today it has about 23 million followers, making it the fifth largest world religion. For about 80 percent of the people in the world religion is very important. Religion influences the worldview, lifestyle and commitment of many people. Religion is a strong political and social creative power. How do we go along with religion in development policy? How can we include the potential of religion for sustainable development and for ensuring world peace? These issues are discussed in this dialogue forum. Details about the discussion will follow soon.
