ਖਿਮਾ ਵਿਹੂਣੇ ਖਪਿ ਗਝ ਖੂਹਣਿ ਲਖ ਅਸੰਖ ॥
खिमा विहूणे खपि गझ खूहणि लख असंख ॥
Kẖimĝ vihūṇė kẖap gaė kẖūhaṇ lakẖ asaʼnkẖ.
Without patience and forgiveness, countless hundreds of thousands have perished.

ਗਣਤ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਿਉ ਗਣੀ ਖਪਿ ਖਪਿ ਮ੝ਝ ਬਿਸੰਖ ॥
गणत न आवै किउ गणी खपि खपि मढ़झ बिसंख ॥
Gaṇaṯ na ĝvai kio gaṇī kẖap kẖap muė bisankẖ.
Their numbers cannot be counted; how could I count them? Bothered and bewildered, uncounted numbers have died.

ਖਸਮ੝ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਖੂਲੈ ਬੰਧ੝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
खसमढ़ पछाणै आपणा खूलै बंधढ़ न पाइ ॥
Kẖasam pacẖẖĝṇai ĝpṇĝ kẖūlai banḝẖ na pĝė.
One who realizes his Lord and Master is set free, and not bound by chains.

ਸਬਦਿ ਮਹਲੀ ਖਰਾ ਤੂ ਖਿਮਾ ਸਚ੝ ਸ੝ਖ ਭਾਇ ॥
सबदि महली खरा तू खिमा सचढ़ सढ़ख भाइ ॥
Sabaḝ mahlī kẖarĝ ṯū kẖimĝ sacẖ sukẖ bẖĝė.
Through the Word of the Shabad, enter the Mansion of the Lord's Presence; you shall be blessed with patience, forgiveness, truth and peace.

ਖਰਚ੝ ਖਰਾ ਧਨ੝ ਧਿਆਨ੝ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਵਸਹਿ ਸਰੀਰਿ ॥
खरचढ़ खरा धनढ़ धिआनढ़ तू आपे वसहि सरीरि ॥
Kẖaracẖ kẖarĝ ḝẖan ḝẖiĝn ṯū ĝpė vaseh sarīr.
Partake of the true wealth of meditation, and the Lord Himself shall abide within your body.

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਮ੝ਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ਸਦਾ ਗ੝ਣ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਧੀਰ ॥
मनि तनि मढ़खि जापै सदा गढ़ण अंतरि मनि धीर ॥
Man ṯan mukẖ jĝpai saḝĝ guṇ anṯar man ḝẖīr.
With mind, body and mouth, chant His Glorious Virtues forever; courage and composure shall enter deep within your mind.

ਹਉਮੈ ਖਪੈ ਖਪਾਇਸੀ ਬੀਜਉ ਵਥ੝ ਵਿਕਾਰ੝ ॥
हउमै खपै खपाइसी बीजउ वथढ़ विकारढ़ ॥
Haumai kẖapai kẖapĝisī bījao vath vikĝr.
Through egotism, one is distracted and ruined; other than the Lord, all things are corrupt.

ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਇ ਵਿਚਿ ਪਾਇਅਨ੝ ਕਰਤਾ ਅਲਗ੝ ਅਪਾਰ੝ ॥੪੯॥
जंत उपाइ विचि पाइअनढ़ करता अलगढ़ अपारढ़ ॥४९॥
Janṯ upĝė vicẖ pĝian karṯĝ alag apĝr. ||49||
Forming His creatures, He placed Himself within them; the Creator is unattached and infinite. ||49||

ਸ੝ਰਿਸਟੇ ਭੇਉ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
सढ़रिसटे भेउ न जाणै कोइ ॥
Saristė bẖėo na jĝṇai koė.
No one knows the mystery of the Creator of the World.

ਸ੝ਰਿਸਟਾ ਕਰੈ ਸ੝ ਨਿਹਚਉ ਹੋਇ ॥
सढ़रिसटा करै सढ़ निहचउ होइ ॥
Saristĝ karai so nihcẖao hoė.
Whatever the Creator of the World does, is certain to occur.

ਸੰਪੈ ਕਉ ਈਸਰ੝ ਧਿਆਈਝ ॥
सढ़मपै कउ ईसरढ़ धिआईझ ॥
Sampai kao īsar ḝẖiĝīai.
For wealth, some meditate on the Lord.

ਸੰਪੈ ਪ੝ਰਬਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਕੀ ਪਾਈਝ ॥
सढ़मपै पढ़रबि लिखे की पाईझ ॥
Sampai purab likẖė kī pĝīai.
By pre-ordained destiny, wealth is obtained.

ਸੰਪੈ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਚਾਕਰ ਚੋਰ ॥
सढ़मपै कारणि चाकर चोर ॥
Sampai kĝraṇ cẖĝkar cẖor.
For the sake of wealth, some become servants or thieves.

ਸੰਪੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਚਾਲੈ ਹੋਰ ॥
सढ़मपै साथि न चालै होर ॥
Sampai sĝth na cẖĝlai hor.
Wealth does not go along with them when they die; it passes into the hands of others.

ਬਿਨ੝ ਸਾਚੇ ਨਹੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨ੝ ॥
बिनढ़ साचे नही दरगह मानढ़ ॥
Bin sĝcẖė nahī ḝargeh mĝn.
Without Truth, honor is not obtained in the Court of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸ੝ ਪੀਵੈ ਛ੝ਟੈ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥੫੦॥
हरि रसढ़ पीवै छढ़टै निदानि ॥५०॥
Har ras pīvai cẖẖutai niḝĝn. ||50||
Drinking in the subtle essence of the Lord, one is emancipated in the end. ||50||

ਹੇਰਤ ਹੇਰਤ ਹੇ ਸਖੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ੝ ॥
हेरत हेरत हे सखी होइ रही हैरानढ़ ॥
Hėraṯ hėraṯ hė sakẖī hoė rahī hairĝn.
Seeing and perceiving, O my companions, I am wonder-struck and amazed.

ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤੀ ਮੈ ਮ੝ਈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਗਿਆਨ੝ ॥
हउ हउ करती मै मढ़ई सबदि रवै मनि गिआनढ़ ॥
Hao hao karṯī mai muī sabaḝ ravai man giĝn.
My egotism, which proclaimed itself in possessiveness and self-conceit, is dead. My mind chants the Word of the Shabad, and attains spiritual wisdom.

ਹਾਰ ਡੋਰ ਕੰਕਨ ਘਣੇ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੀ ਸੀਗਾਰ੝ ॥
हार डोर कंकन घणे करि थाकी सीगारढ़ ॥
Hĝr dor kankan gẖaṇė kar thĝkī sīgĝr.
I am so tired of wearing all these necklaces, hair-ties and bracelets, and decorating myself.

ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਸ੝ਖ੝ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਗਲ ਗ੝ਣਾ ਗਲਿ ਹਾਰ੝ ॥
मिलि पढ़रीतम सढ़खढ़ पाइआ सगल गढ़णा गलि हारढ़ ॥
Mil parīṯam sukẖ pĝiĝ sagal guṇĝ gal hĝr.
Meeting with my Beloved, I have found peace; now, I wear the necklace of total virtue.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗ੝ਰਮ੝ਖਿ ਪਾਈਝ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰ੝ ॥
नानक गढ़रमढ़खि पाईझ हरि सिउ पढ़रीति पिआरढ़ ॥
Nĝnak gurmukẖ pĝīai har sio parīṯ piĝr.
O Nanak, the Gurmukh attains the Lord, with love and affection.

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨ੝ ਕਿਨਿ ਸ੝ਖ੝ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੇਖਹ੝ ਮਨਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
हरि बिनढ़ किनि सढ़खढ़ पाइआ देखहढ़ मनि बीचारि ॥
Har bin kin sukẖ pĝiĝ ḝėkẖhu man bīcẖĝr.
Without the Lord, who has found peace? Reflect upon this in your mind, and see.

ਹਰਿ ਪੜਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਬ੝ਝਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਖਹ੝ ਪਿਆਰ੝ ॥
हरि पड़णा हरि बढ़झणा हरि सिउ रखहढ़ पिआरढ़ ॥
Har paṛṇĝ har bujẖṇĝ har sio rakẖahu piĝr.
Read about the Lord, understand the Lord, and enshrine love for the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਜਪੀਝ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਝ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮ੝ ਅਧਾਰ੝ ॥੫੧॥
हरि जपीझ हरि धिआईझ हरि का नामढ़ अधारढ़ ॥५१॥
Har japīai har ḝẖiĝīai har kĝ nĝm aḝẖĝr. ||51||
Chant the Lord's Name, and meditate on the Lord; hold tight to the Support of the Name of the Lord. ||51||
