The Guru Granth Sahib on page 206 has a hymn or Shabad by the fifth master, Guru Arjan which expresses the intense love and deep connections that an enlightened soul has for the supreme cosmic Energy that we call God or Waheguru. The daily mission of the Sikh is to eradicate anger, hatred, vengeance and conflict from their mind and replace this with love, compassion and forgiving.

The Guru tells us "Why waste your life in hatred, vengeance and conflict? (2)" (SGGS p 1176) Further, in simple terms Gurbani tells us not to harbour hatred for anyone in these terms "WAWWA: Do not harbor hatred against anyone. In each and every heart, God is contained." (SGGS p 259) This need to practise love and dispel hate has been supported in the West by many wise people including Martin Luther King, Jr. who said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

God is Inaccessible, Incomprehensible and Imperishable; He is known through the Perfect Guru. (2)
My doubt and fear have been taken away, and I have been made pure, since my ego was conquered.
My fear of birth and death has been abolished, beholding Your Blessed Vision in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. (3)
I wash the Guru's Feet and serve Him; I am a sacrifice to Him, 100,000 times.
By His Grace, servant Nanak has crossed over this terrifying world-ocean; I am united with my Beloved. (4)(7)(128)

Except for You, who is mine? O my Beloved, You are the Support of the breath of life. (1)(Pause)

In the first line, the first part of the couplet tells us that 'Without You' Tujh bin, kavan hamara, who is mine or even What is mine? kavan means who, what and hamara means mine. So this section means: Without you, who is mine or Apart from You, who is mine or even Apart from You, none is mine.

In the second part of the couplet, the tuk says: Mere pritam - mere is my and pritam is beloved. Paran adhara - Paran means breath - the action of taking in air which sustains us. Sikh believe that the number of breaths that one cam take on this Earth is predetermined and cannot be changed. Adhara is supporter, provider. So this section translates to: My Beloved, provider of life
